After waiting an hour and a 1/2 for the chef to arrive to cook our meal, we asked the manager what was the holdup. She was extremely rude and said that she doesn't control the reservations. Is it management responsible for overall operations and employee and customer experiences? We then asked for her business card and she said she wasn't allowed to give it out. We then asked for her first name, and she said that she was not allowed to provide that either and she told us " good luck with finding out my name". She is a horrible representation of your brand. The waitstaff and chef were very pleasant and kept apologizing for the delay, and funny that they all had name tags with their first name and last name initial. However, the manager could not provide her name? I highly do not recommend this place. We were celebrating a very special event and the bill was almost four hundred dollars for the three of us, and this definitely put a damper on our night. As a customer, you are better off going to shoguns, 356, Okama, or even panda express!!!

Our server was great. Our chef was really late and we were starving. The fried rice was mediocre because he was late and rushed, he did not mix it together well, and it was bland. This was disappointing because that was my main reason for choosing the restaurant - I was craving the fried rice. Overall the food is always good but too pricy. My sparkling water exploded on me when I twisted it open - not optimal but we laughed. The his place is always super loud and you leave with your hair and clothes smelling like a fry grill. Also they need to clean their bathrooms better. So gross. They should hire staff to keep it clean. :-)

My service was terrible! My server took too long to take my order and the kitchen closed by the time the server took my order. It sucks I did not get to eat . I drove an hour and a half just to eat at the Benihana’s in San Diego. What a waste of my gas and time . I’m very disappointed

Horrible service, we walked out. We didn’t get sat until 45 minutes after out reservation and the food was not going to get cooked until 1.5 hours after sitting down so we left without compensation or anything

Our chef Chris was fantastic. Great personality, entertaining and seemed to enjoy his job. Parking is horrendous and had an hour and a half wait before Chris arrived at our table. He saved the night with his skills and personality.

It was our 1st time here and We had a reservation at 7 PM. We were there 10 minutes before 7 PM and literally they called us in around 7:40 PM and the place that they sat us was full of elementary Kids and was very very noisy and loud . The server came 10 minute after and took the order for drinks and 30 minute past and we never got our drinks and the chef never came to our table and we ended up getting us and leave, so almost 2 hours just wasted our time at this place. Not recommended at all

Reservation at 8:45 and got seated til 9:45 and then waited at the communal table for a chef til 10:45, started eating til 11:15! They shouldn’t be so flexible with reservations especially during comic con weekend when its busy!

I love benihana but avoid this location! Our reservation was for 8:15 and we were not seated until 9 and didn’t get a chef until almost 10 pm. The food was good and our waitress and chef were very nice, but that did not make up for the fact we waited over 2 hours to eat. I do not blame the waitress or chef, they were extremely overbooked and took way too many reservations.

We had reservations for 8 o’clock and weren’t seated until almost 845. By 1030, we finally got a chef. We walked out of the restaurant well after 11 o’clock and there were actually two tables that hadn’t even gotten their chef yet either. They need to stop taking reservations When they clearly have a shortage in staffing. We were told that it was because they simply didn’t have enough chefs, but again, they should not be filling tables with expectant diners if they do not have enough people to service them.
