First time ever going to this restaurant, on a Wednesday and we were there for 2-1/2 hours. Food was just okay, but expected better for the price we paid. The server was very slow on drinks. Just wasn’t a good first time experience, don’t this we will ever go again.

What a total scam. Had the hibachi dinner. 12 people, high school volleyball team of seniors. We started by asking for tap water—told they only had Fiji. Bottles water for $7 per bottle. No menu offered with prices. Extra charge for the sauces. Food took an hour—the chef did not entertain. Soup was brought out and given to all—nobody was told the soup was extra. No drinks aside from lemonades. Then, the fun began. The waitress, Kelly, would not bring the itemized bill. Just said “let’s round up to $100 per person”. Seemed fishy. Girls asked for bill again, told that “the system doesn’t allow it”. Told they had to pay. Finally got a menu with prices and did the math—price should have been around 55 per person, but then the soup and bottled water etc, with 25% service charge and then an additional 28% percent tip—but none of this was told or asked if it was ok—then was told it should be rounded up to 100 per person. Now, the fun begins. The girls called the parents—and were berated by the staff, told “why are they calling mommy”—a few parents the went to pickup their daughters, and calmly asked for the bill. Amazingly. Many table of adults had tap water, but a separate party of teens were told there was only bottled water. The managers then came over —Jorge, Nicolas, James, and William—and offered to change the price to 51 dollars per person. Suddenly, receipts were found! And the the charges for the water and soup were revealed—then the police came. The situation was explained, and one of the officers (who were very professional the entire time) said “we get called here a few times per week for this”. I would avoid this restaurant at all costs.

Everything was amazing, the food, the service, our server Tiffany was so sweet and always made sure we were okay and having a great time, they also took a picture of us and which they printed out in just a few minutes and each one of us got a copy! WE LOVED IT! Such a lovely memories to have! We definitely enjoy our girls night 🙌🏻❤️

This place used to be packed all the time. They changed their prices during Covid and now charge too much. A side of chicken fried rice in a little bowl is $8. We used to come here several times a year, but now we come about 1-2.

Disappointed & Unsanitary Experience – Not Worth the Price We came to Benihana expecting a fun, quality hibachi experience, especially at $60+ per person — unfortunately, the visit was a major letdown. First, the floors were noticeably dirty — sticky and scattered with food debris. Not exactly the clean, polished vibe you’d expect from a place with this price tag. Our chef was careless with cross-contamination, using the same utensils to handle raw chicken, seafood, and red meat without cleaning or switching tools in between. That’s not just sloppy, it’s a serious food safety issue. On top of that, he mixed up different cuts of steak, giving the wrong ones to guests at our table and completely messing up multiple orders. No one received what they actually asked for, and there was clear confusion about which dish belonged to whom. To their credit, management removed two entrées from our bill after we voiced our concerns. But at the end of the day, when you’re paying a premium for what should be a high-quality, memorable experience, this fell far short of the mark. The food was average at best, and the service and cleanliness were disappointing. Definitely not worth the money, and we won’t be returning.

I had a reservation at 8pm and called to say we were going to be late. I was told we had a 15 minute grace period. I arrived at 8:12 and sat in line behind a couple which took 3 hosts to help them. When I finally got to the podium at 8:17, I was told that my reservation was canceled and that I had to wait for a table for another 20 minutes with people with no reservations. No apology or anything to make things right- even asked to speak with a manager and he said the call center doesn't communicate with us. Why have your number posted and not be to the actual restaurant

Absolutely. Here’s a snarky, LOL-style review that keeps your tone but elevates it with sharp wit and vivid imagery: ⸻ Imagine dining inside the very appliance used to cook your meal. That’s Benihana—part restaurant, part human hibachi smoke chamber. From the moment you step in, you’re wrapped in a thick cloud of Eau de Grill Grease. Ventilation? Never heard of her. The air is so smoky, I half expected to see a fireman slide down from the ceiling with a spatula. Service? Let’s just say it’s got big DMV energy. The staff kind of acts like you work for them. Our waiter vanished like a ninja in a puff of sesame oil, and the only thing getting cooked for a solid 30 minutes was our patience. Drinks took so long I started Googling how to collect condensation from the ceiling. Shout-out to the two manager guys, though—they were hustling like they knew the Yelp rating was on life support. I got the distinct impression they’re either short-staffed or trying to stretch payroll thinner than the onions on our grill. We showed up at 8 p.m. sharp and didn’t roll out until 9:30, and trust me, that wasn’t because we were luxuriating in the ambiance. We had three kids with us—one melting down, one building a chopstick lightsaber, and one whispering “Can we go home now?” on repeat. I finally stood up, walked to the manager, and said: “If someone doesn’t start flinging shrimp in the next five minutes, we’re out.” Suddenly, the staff was moving like the building was on fire. In summary: if you enjoy smelling like burnt oil for 48 hours, waiting until your hair grays for a bowl of miso, and being emotionally held hostage with a side of ginger sauce—Benihana’s your spot. If not, maybe just light a scented candle, eat a microwave meal, and set $150 on fire for a similar experience.

I’m used to paying a small up charge for fried rice but I was up charged $7.50 for each order of fried rice for our dinners.
