   The food and service was excellent. I have to admit it was the best Filet Mignon I have ever had. There was no wait time at all, as soon as we walked in and confirmed our reservation, we were seated within a few minutes. The waitress and the chef were nice and energetic. We went for my son's birthday and he had a great time. We will definitely start making this an annual birthday tradition.

   We enjoyed dining at Benihana in Newport Beach. The restaurant was clean, staff were friendly and helpful and food was great. It was not too crowded or noisy as the other location. We arrived and got seated right away which was awesome.

   Dinner was great! Normally, it’s a good experience, but Chef Hunter was spectacular! Even saw a couple new tricks during the “show” that we hadn’t seen before. :)

   Always a great place for a birthday diner, however, it took them 45 minutes, after being sat ,for the chef to arrive and start. It seemed they are thin on staff all around, and for the price we paid for the meal and experience, we should have received better and more timely service.

   Horrible. We were seated in the bar area. Bar area is a waiting area for the main seating. It is like a market. Crowded, people just hanging out next to your table, nor at clean. We got the water in dirty glass which had to be returned. Food was off low quality, drinks below average. Had to throw away the lobster rolls because it tasted bad.

   Service was ok. Food was quite good but hard to rate great…was near great. The meat and seafood seemed fresh and well cooked. Highly recommend but the whole experience seemed less high end (for the price) than it used to be. Overall the restaurant did not feel as clean as it used to (the bathrooms were awful and when I told the receptionist that they needed attention, she seemed to care less). There were weird “fixes” all around from a maintenance standpoint and overall there did not seem to be enough help or attention to the needs of the business. I hope they can figure it all out and stay in business. It was really crowded and they were very busy so the revenue seems to be there. Hopefully it is being reinvested appropriately back into running the business well!! Good establishment, hope to see them succeed, needs to look at the maintenance and the service help (not the chef’s…they seem great). Food tasty.

    Been there multiple times, including with kids. This time, the chef went super fast not allowing us time to enjoy the freshly cooked food. There was no show for the kids, he barely lit up the onions and quickly stopped it. We were left having to finish up quickly as they were cleaning the table and setting up for the next party. I ordered the trio and while I was still starting the chicken, there was already shrimp and meet on my plate. The vegetables were barely seasoned and cooked. The steak also had no salt. I have never been served that quick there. Also no desserts were offered.
