   I had the Hibachi steak which was delicious. It’s pricey but worth it. The Teppan style entrees include a soup, a small salad with ginger dressing, rice, grilled shrimp and I think ice cream but we were too full for dessert. The waitress was attentive and courteous and the cook was nice even though our table didn’t pay much attention to the poor guy! Great experience!

   I have been a longtime customer of Benihana and this was my first time to the Newport Beach location. It was a very nice restaurant with a nice staff but the food was not cooked well unfortunately. The shrimp was not properly deveined and the quality of the cooking was just not there and consistent with all my previous experiences. The chef was a very nice guy but not a good cook.

   Chef was very inexperienced and forgot to put egg in our fried and said they didn’t have any because “another worker knocked over all the eggs” which our server confirmed that was not truthful unfortunately. Manager was nonchalant. The service and quality has really went down - last few visits had same service issues. Benihana is no longer what it used to be.

   Always our first choice for an excellent time. Green tea ice cream is delish.

   Service to our table took over an hour. We watched people come and go while we waited to have a waiter.

   Amazing Luke our server was amazing and our chef Elijah made the best food ever! Josh the manager is hands on and the best! Best experience! Loved our time there couldn’t have been more perfect!

   We were celebrating my son’s 10th birthday and sadly the staff we had wasn’t really very exciting. Our chef was just there to cook. He added in a couple of obligatory shrimp tail tosses and an egg roll but that was it. Seeing how engaging the other chefs were left us all a bit disappointed.

   The food was over salted and the restaurant seemed understaffed as it took a long while between a single server clearing empty plates in between courses (for multiple tables). Water was also left empty majority of the time. Chef was also told there was a sesame seed allergy prior to the dinner and he put sesame seeds on the fried rice.

    The food and service was excellent. I have to admit it was the best Filet Mignon I have ever had. There was no wait time at all, as soon as we walked in and confirmed our reservation, we were seated within a few minutes. The waitress and the chef were nice and energetic. We went for my son's birthday and he had a great time. We will definitely start making this an annual birthday tradition.
