    My experience with is always a usually a great one. I believe that it was a slow night for them and the morality was a little bit down this evening, it was a little bit later than when I usually go it was late at night. I see a huge difference than it is during lunch hour or during the beginning of dinner rush and it was also on an early weekday. The chef was great and put on a good show as usual and other services were a little slow for it not to be that busy of an evening. I still overall enjoyed my evening and my food.

    Our experience was awesome, the staff friendly and helpful. The chef was entertaining and an excellent cook. The food was delicious. Overall a very memorable and enjoyable experience. Only suggestion improve your bathroom, the accessible one not very accessible with a walker. The door closure difficult to use. Thank you for helping to make my birthday an enjoyable experience! Joan

    The food and service were excellent. The only thing is Benihana (MPLS location) charges a service fee to every bill no matter the number of people in your party (only had 2 in my party). This service fee is large enough that you would think is the servers/cook gratuity. However, this service fee is not part of the gratuity. We were informed that the server and cook only receives 1% of this service fee (which is minor when calculated) that they must share. When we paid the bill for our food, we were hoping to receive a receipt to show paid and to show a tip line to pay a tip/gratuity (since the 1% of the service fee was minor). The server indicated that there is no tip line on the receipt, and we will have to pay cash for a tip. This is to the Benihana's corporate office: you should be ashamed of charging a large service fee that appears to be a gratuity going to the server/cook when technically it is not since the server/cook only receives 1% that they must share. You should allow customers when paying with a credit/debit card to receive a receipt with a tip/gratuity line, in order to tip the server/cook appropriately. Due to this large service fee and the server/cook only receiving 1% of this fee, I may or not return to Benihana (MPLS location). The server/cook has to make a living, and I know the majority of the servers/cooks if not all, relies on gratuity from customers when providing excellent service. Corporate needs to rethink this policy.

    I went for my birthday and had a great time, the people we were sitting with were really nice and they had been there a lot so it was nice to have someone give tips. My only small complaint is I'm allergic to mushrooms and they had it in the onion soup, and as a side and I couldn't have either but wasn't given any other option of more grilled veggies, or more steamed rice, and he gave my mushrooms to someone in the other party instead of anyone in my group which was a little sad. Otherwise it was really fun, the sauce is incredible, and I love that they take your picture and give you a print.

    I asked for my steak cooked medium rare and it was cooked well done. This is very disappointing when you're paying almost $100 for dinner.

    They watered down the Shrimp/yummy sauce again!! My salad had 1 tomato- others at the table had 2 or 3! Chef was definitely new- egg dropped on floor when he tried to catch it. Rice was undercooked. Onion/zucchini overcooked. Portions are smaller and smaller every time! Very little garlic butter used for all dishes. ** Very expensive with ridiculous 20% surcharge.
