   Here for Mother’s Day, made reservation on open door, chef was Lamar, great food and service was great, forgot the waitresses name but she was 8 months pregnant. You get a lot of food for your money!!!

   We love hibachi and this time we brought our daughter for the first time. Of course she got frightened but it was a fun experience! Unfortunately our server only visited our table in the beginning and the very end. Our lovely chef Roberto had to run and get us waters and refills as he was cooking. He’s great but our server not so much. Especially when we turned around to see a bunch of other servers standing around and no one wanted to come to the table when waved down.

   I haven’t been I awhile, went for Saturday lunch, but in no way did I expect the kind of price increase along with the decline in taste of the main entrees… the yum yum sauce isn’t even close to the same :/ tastes so watered down and ruined that experience dipping with all the foods :/ 4 of us went and 3 got 1 drink, PRICE PER PERSON averaged out was $92.24 food,drink,service fee,tax,mandatory tip of their picking. None of us will be going back.

   We went to Benihana to celebrate our daughter’s Sweet 16 — a tradition our family has cherished for over a decade. Sadly, this will be the last time we return. The overall dining experience was incredibly disappointing. Our waitress, while not perfect, was polite and attentive — honestly the only highlight of the night. The chef, however, seemed completely checked out from the moment he arrived. His energy was off, his performance was careless, and the cooking was sloppy. He prepared far too much fried rice for just five orders, then threw away at least two full bowls. Worse, the rice was drowned in soy sauce — so salty and heavy that the birthday girl couldn’t eat anything on her plate. He repeatedly said, “I don’t know what anyone has,” and I had to step in every time to direct him. His attempts at showmanship were lazy — tossing shrimp tails into his hat that wasn’t even positioned under the hood vent. My husband and I genuinely questioned if he was intoxicated. To make matters worse, the tofu steak entrée we ordered was untouched. The tofu was severely overcooked, dry, and inedible. Nothing about the food or service reflected the Benihana standard we’ve come to expect over the years. We were so uncomfortable, we just wanted the night to end. It was heartbreaking to have such a terrible experience on what should have been a memorable birthday celebration. We won’t be coming back.

   This is the first time we have been to Benihana in quite some time. We were greeted by a sign on the door saying that there is a 20% service charge for people sitting at the tables that they make the food in front of you and that it is not a gratuity! Luckily we had a gift card and birthday voucher because for the two of us without drinks it was $150… The service and food were outstanding. We will not come to Benihana anymore if we have to pay full price, it is outrageous.

   We have gone using our birthday coupons for YEARS, and I think this is the last time we will be doing it. The prices are getting higher and higher, and unfortunately - the service is not at the level we would expect for the price. They were short or behind on chefs, so our chef did not come until 1 hour after we sat. The Chef was nice and made great food - BUT there was no communication from the mgmt about the delay. Our server gave me notice about the delay, but only to me - not to the entire table, and there where two other parties sitting there that I had to relay the message to. The manager was asked, by another at our table, for something to compensate us for the very long wait - and we got 20% off, which basically was deleted because of the automatic gratuity. We were asked to add more gratuity by the server, which we were not. The foot was great - everything else was substandard. I also think that there needs to be more servers. Our drinks should be refilled more often and the plates bussed quicker. If the price were lower, I would probably not be as particular, but at the price it was (for two adults and two kids with NO drinks, the cost was over $160 and that was WITH the birthday coupon). Nope - not going again. Not worth the price at the level of staffing.

    The show that you come from wasn’t really there. Very disappointing as we came for son’s birthday. Was told that MOA or Kobe offers better experience. Food was way salty but to be expected with hibachi.
