    Since Benihana tacks on an automatic 20% gratuity whether you are at the teppanyaki table or in the bar, there is absolutely NO service in the bar area. Our dirty dishes were never removed as we finished them...no checking in by the wait staff. They figure they are getting their tip anyway and don't need to provide any service. Shame on you Benihana!

    The bus boy kept trying to throw away our food. It was closing time when we left. I get they want to go home but the bus boy kept coming to our table while we were eating and pointed at my daughter’s food and said,”are you done with that I can get rid of it” It was a full plate and we were waiting for to go containers. The he tries to take my 14.00 drink that’s still half full and put it in his bin. I told him I was still drinking it. Then he started taking our silverware and everything. He did everything he could to basically tell us to leave. I spent $330.00 I expect to at least be able to eat and enjoy my food.

    One of the worst experiences we have had , had reservations , didn’t get water or a server for a while, never got a refill and had to get up and ask for Silverware , chef didn’t speak English, had to leave the table to go get bowls, used the same spat on raw chicken with every thing else - 20% charge was added for 2 people ? No idea why, the server put someone else’s bill on my credit card and then asked for a cash tip . Never again

    Worst hibachi experience I’ve had. Poor service the entire dinner. She brought everyone’s ice cream before food was even half way done. Unreal! And now they force an automatic 20% tip… don’t waste time here and go to Osaka instead

    Who brings little babies and toddlers to a hibachi dinner? I really wish you had a choice about whether or not your party is seated with another party that has babies/toddlers. The other party's screaming toddlers and their moms who talked through the whole show about their personal lives wasn't very wonderful for a $$$$ birthday dinner for adults. Why bother going to the hibachi table if you arent watching the show or even paying attention and don't take upset children out. The restaurant and staff themselves were fine, although it is a loud environment. For that kind of money I guess I'll go to a fine dining restaurant instead where you can actually enjoy the meal. I was somewhat disappointed.

    Dining at Benihana last night was a disaster! We were seated near the kitchen so lots of activity. Our server was rarely around so others would try to step in for him when it came to their attention we’d been waiting excessive amounts of time. The orders were wrong in every course even after we’d clarified & DJ assured us “I got you”. Drinks never came. Nothing was ever cleared. And, splitting the check (two parties that were split to separate sides of the table - not hard) was the final nightmarish straw. It took 45 minutes, getting a manager and it was still wrong on the third attempt. It costs a fortune & was a chaotic mess. I would not recommend!! Benihana had been an annual holiday tradition for our families, however we will not be coming back!

    Food over cook n not performance like original before anymore, so disappointed, food section is cut without salad, sautéed veggies n wait for 1 hours to start cooking , didn’t see waiter or waitress take care to order more drink or set up. Even the chef keep taking by his own language with the other chef next table n waiter then looking at all of us different family who speak English only. We need to be respectful

    The waitress was terrible. Grumpy and super slow. Argued with us about the bill, argued with the chef about the ticket, constantly forgot items and said she would grab something and then go help another table and not come back for 20 minutes

    Food was good. It was really loud, which I’m taking into the waitress not getting our order correct, took her 20-25 mins to run my gift card and forgot our birthday party, had to remind her. Needless to say it was disappointing

    Food is very good, but my entree of chicken was a little overcooked and dry. Service was somewhat poor with a long wait just to get a fork. Took a long time to get the bill and when I did, it was wrong. Then it took a while to get the correct bill. Our server was very kind and apologetic though.

    I put specifically that the dinner was for a birthday and asked for a dessert to be brought out. Nothing happened. What was the point of me saying it was a birthday for y’all not to do anything??

    I already sent in a review because of the bad(slow) service and mix up wit my reservation. The food and chef was amazing after the 2 hour wait to get service. Unfortunately this is my 3rd time with under par service for the price. I couldn't recommend this place without letting people know, to go at your own risk and make sure that you have time and patients.

    Unsatisfied is an understatement. Our Service was horrible. Worst service I've had in a long time. Our server was rude, slow and forgetful. She got my drink order wrong, ended up waiting at least 15 minutes for her to get it. Our sushi didn't come with any soy sauce, and we had to wait for that to be brought out. when I ordered another drink, our server forgot to bring it out, And asked if I still wanted it. Our appetizer salads were never brought out. And we were almost done with the main course. (If i didn't ask for them we would have never gotten them). I was enquiring about purchasing a souvenir cup, When I asked the sever to show me the options that were available. She said, "let me see what we have" I didnt hear from her for almost 15 minutes. . So I asked her a second time, she ignored me. We're almost through dinner and asked her again. She said she'd "go look the back" meanwhile Our table is cluttered from our appetizer dishes. And everyone's drinks are gone, and not getting refilled. The lady that was sharing our Hibachi table had to get up three times to get someone's attention. (Even to get a forks for the table) No one asked if we wanted ice cream, i had to ask for that (and wait another 15 minutes) it was frezer burnt, with chunks of ice in it. The manager wasn't helpful either. We told him our complaints, but he didn't seem the least bit concerned or try to make sure our experience was going well.

    We have been going to Benihana for years with no issues. We went last night to the Mall of America one. Huge disappointment all the way around. Thank goodness, the food at least was good. Made a reservation for 5 of us and we were seated at the table closest to the kitchen. Dishes clanking, constant four traffic and rolling carts right behind us. I get it, if there were no other tables, but there was other open tables. We gave our drink orders right away and new immediately that our young server was inexperienced. He was very kind, but didn’t know what Pinot Grigio was. After we ordered drinks, we waited 25 minutes before he came back with 2 of the 5 drinks. I had to show him the Pinot Grigio on the menu and when he came back 15 minutes later, he brought a blush. Then no one came back for another 20 minutes. Nothing. Then he came back, took our order then nothing again for almost another half hour! Finally, I went to the front and asked the hostesses if they knew if we were going to get a chef and maybe another drink. They were rude. Nothing happened. Chef showed up eventually. Really bad experience. It was supposed to be a special night to celebrate my daughters going away dinner. So disappointed. I feel bad for the server. He wasn’t trained right and just thrown to the wolves. This is the fault from the top.

    I used my $30 certificate for my birthday. This was my first time there. My friend and I very much enjoyed the Hibachi experience and our food. I would recommend Benihana as a unique place to eat. They have their own style. even though they are not the only place doing Hibachi. Food was cooked quickly with not a long wait on our visit.

    While visiting Benihana with my family (including 4 kids) we had very poor service. We didn’t receive our soup/salad until our chef was already preparing our meals. All while waiting for drinks and silverware. When I asked the Chef for “real forks” (not chopsticks) he proceeded to hand me his cooking utensil as a joke. Everyone had plates full of food and we had crying toddlers because they couldn’t eat. Our server was not attentive and we just felt as we made a huge mistake dining there that evening. Our experience was definitely not worth the amount we paid. It was not busy so that was no excuse for the poor service. For being in the restaurant industry for 12 years, I myself don’t see what the hell was going for the service we got.

    We came in for my sons birthday. We made reservations for 4:30 knowing it would not be busy and the service would be faster. It was very slow. The server never came back after the food was made until he brought the check. We had asked for refills on water never got them asked for soy and he brought it out after we all had got done eating. With the veggies we got it was only onions and zucchini. More onions than anything. This meal most definitely was not worth $235 for the 5 of us.

    We were seated at 6:30pm for our reservation time however no one took our drink order until 7:15pm. I think the hibachi cook came over at 7:30pm and finally started. Drinks were slow. Our table was cleaned slowly. Dessert finally came and our check. Up charged us for the fried rice and wasn’t told…martini was $18 and was small.

    It was a nice venue and food was good. The price was very high and not commensurate with the food quality or service. High Points: 1. Venue - Very classy and roomy 2. Chef and Food Quality - The chef was very nice and entertaining. The food was really tasty. 3. The location in Mall of America is convenient. 4. The reservation system was easy. Low Points: 1. Our server was pretty bad. Supposedly she was new, but the mistakes she was making were not just of someone new. She seemed complacent and overwhelmed. She forgot more than two orders, our white rice, and disappeared frequently. 2. This place is extremely expensive even compared to other teppanyaki places. The Hibachi chicken for example is priced at $31 which is easily $10 more than at an equivalent place. 3. They didn't really honor $30 discount and made no attempt at helping me redeem it. 4. The service charge of 20% is an insult. I understand wait staff don't want to be stiffed, but I tend to be very generous with my tips. I was not going to tip on top of the 20% with the level of service I got. Tipping should be discretionary to motivate performance.

    Came at a really wrong time, jjust me on Halloween for all day happy hour for something simple, not hibachi. Just wanted edamame, and gyoza. Everything was horrible! Place looked dirty, unclean, and no care. Really not a good experience 😕

    They didnt serve us some things that were supposed to be included in the meal (saki, green tea) . Were being rushed the entire time.

    Our cook was fantastic. Our waitress was not very attentive. We had to remind her to fill waters, even had to ask another waiter for our ice cream as our waitress did not even offer it.

    For the price we paid, we didn't get close to that value. Evidently, it was slow so they turned people loose. Then it got busy. Our waitress had too many tables, it took forever for our salads, and worst of all was their vent hoods didn't work, so we were all coughing from the smoke and our eyes watering. Noticed one of the cooks sweating over his food cart. Glad we didn't get him. Overall, we should have never gone.

    Interesting experience last night compared to other visits. We had a 6:45 res but the chef for our table didn’t come until about 7:40. The sever was nice but very inexperienced. He did his best but needed some help. The drinks took forever. I think our first round took about 20 min and even then the order hadn’t been completed. One person in our party didn’t get her drink so we had to ask and then waited another 10 min. I went to look at the bar at one point and no one was there. The food portions were definitely smaller than previous visits too. Lastly, when we asked to just have the bill split evenly 3 ways the server brought back the checks and one person in our party paid about 20% more than the other two families. We were late for an event so we just left it as is. Not sure we’ll be back since things seem to have gone downhill.
