This was by far the worst experience I have ever had at any Benihana. Our server was terrible. She messed up every persons order; she put her serving tray down on the grill and it started melting and smelled terrible. It took 45 minutes to get a chef even though there were only 4 tables going. Overall it took us 2 hours at lunch to have our experience. I will never go back to that Benihana again.
I would recommend going for specials occasions, birthdays, anniversaries, etc. Good food & drinks.
I have been here twice. I wasn’t thrilled my first time but years later gave it another chance. A few girl friends and I went for dinner on 2-10 at 4:45. We were finally sat around 5:30. Our server was an older asian lady who was beyond grumpy, and out chef was more annoying than entertaining. It took him over an hour to cook our food and some how “no onions” turned into no veggies at all?! Then my medium steak was cooked well, but we had a 7:00 movie to make, I had to shovel my food in my mouth, I didn’t have time for him to remake it.
Too much to write. All in all. Not good.
We had a reservation we didn't get seated until 45 minutes later we didn't get drinks for 45 minutes after that we were there a total of 3 hours there were no chefs no managers came by and apologize no types of compensation just a restaurant full of people waiting on an available chef if I could give a negative star rating I would
Have been there 3 times in the last 6 months. Appetizer shrimp is WAY over cooked. All my entree seafood has been tough and far overcooked. Way too much oil and butter in the veggies.
Not a fan anymore like many years ago.
Was not satisfied
Consistent experience, with varied menu. It was not overly crowded the night we were there. Quick service, even though our table did not fill up right away. Our cook was gracious, and quickly reacted to a couple of omissions - not too much of delay in the other party getting their correct food.
They were packed when we got there. We had to wait for a table even though we had reservations (not long- maybe 10 minutes). The waitress was look irritable and looked like she was exhausted ( it was a madhouse in there so it makes sense). I asked about a few drinks and wasn't given much information. The price for the meal and what you get is significantly less than any other Japanese style steakhouse I have ever been (even ordering double rice, etc.). Would not go back or recommend.
This time the service was not great very slow and not cheerful at all no fun to anyone serving that evening
Food is always amazing. But the wait time even with a scheduled reservation is a little much but all worth the wait
7:15 reservation. Ate at 9:05. 4 chefs for 12 tables. Horrible service.
A bit overrated. Food was decent nothing over the top. The service was good and fun-filled... Great for Bday Celebrations... Drinks were good but pricey.
THE soup was cold, no bartenders on duty, sushi was mediocre, hibachi was good bc of the chef!
Our 6:30 reservation turned into a 7:15 seating... poor management!
We sat for almost an hour before the chef came to the table. The chef did not know many of the traditional entertaining tricks and we were not entertained. The floor around the restaurant is very dirty and unappetizing. The restaurant looked dirty. The food however, was very good.
Once we sat down it took maybe 30-45 just to get drinks. Once we got drinks maybe 30 to order food. The server apologized and said that we'd get some discount, never did. It was a Sunday afternoon with maybe 4 tables.
Service was terrible. Waiter was so quite to the point you had to ask him several times to repeat what he said. Didn’t get a waiter until 30 minutes after being seated.
Service was very slow, as we had to wait a long time for a cook. Food portions were very small, especially the fried rice, where some received much less than others.
Restaurant needed cleaning.
The service and food quality needs attention.
The Benihana experience is not good.
We drove 90 minutes to get there and, because my husband is wheelchair bound and it takes about 7 minutes to get him out of car, it made us 15 minutes late for our reservation. Instead of being hospitable or helpful after I gave our name and told the person at the door that we were sorry for being late , his only response to us was "You are 15 minutes late for your reservation." I even called to let them know that we were on our way. This was the place that I loved coming to as a teenager and young adult. I thought that this would be a great place to take our son for his 21st birthday. We were seated IN the way, at the entrance of the dining room, where my husband's wheelchair was blocking a clear path for everyone to enter. We had to wait to be seated. Then we had to wait for 4 more people to be seated so that we could order and have a chef come and cook our meal. Our dinner took more than 2 hours! As much as I love Hibachi grill dining, I will not be returning to Benihana Indianapolis. We did not feel welcomed by anyone except our server. I wish I had gotten his name. For HIS SERVICE ALONE, he got a big tip!! Thank you, sir!
