Benihana - Houston - Downtown
Birthday for husband- food was pretty good- a little bland and soup was barely warm.
Had a reservation at 7:15pm & did not get seated until 8pm. I do not like that this location tries to seat 8 people to a grill- my party did not enjoy our experience nor our food comfortably. I understand that waiters/waitresses have multiple parties to wait on but our waiter returned to our table a maximum of 3 times. This was my birthday dinner & our chef’s personality was the only thing that made my family and I enjoy our dinner. This location is very heavy populated that they should go by reservation only.

We waited a while just for our drinks. Over-all it was good. Could be a bit more cleaner.
Went to celebrate daughters Birthday. Every thing was great.
Had dinner around 7 for my birthday today and everything was exquisite! From the food to the service as always I enjoyed my Benihana experience
The food and service was great. I left off one star due to them discontinuing yum yum sauce and not having salad as a lunch option. Otherwise, great meal!
The show was amazing, the food was to die for. After the food they brought dessert and it was pronominal, we also got to take a photo which was nice.
We usually love Benihana. This was our first time at this location. Our first server was so rude. Even the other guests at the table could not believe some of her remarks. Spoke with the manager and the server even had an attitude while talking to her. Our next server was very nice and we were happy with him. Food was. Or as good as usual and chef was ok. Don’t they usually throw rice or shrimp in the guest’s mouth? Our kids were disappointed. Overall a terrible experience.
Management and staff made sure my family and myself where taken care of for my birthday. We had good food and a great time, Thanks.
The floors were filthy. The hibachis had leftover food on them. We love the Westheimer location. The downtown location was a complete disappointment.

We were very disappointed. Walked in early and were asked to sit in the dining area while we waited for a table. The restaurant smelled and the temperature was too warm. The floors were sticky and the table we were waiting at was dirty. We got up and left to another restaurant.
The amount you get for the price is not worth it. Our chef did not prepare the food up to par for the price and wasn’t worth it
Have been a few times, but this time the restaurant was very crowded and our table mates were extremely rude. Will go back.
Experience was okay for it being a Benihana I had higher expectations. This restaurant needs to update its ambience. Older and worn out. Service was good. Pricing was overpriced relative to competitors and ambiance. Been to other Benihana and this was a lower tier.
The food was great as usual. My server was very attentive even though it was busy she did an excellent job.

Wow this place is tired — wonder how long it has been since any upkeep or refresh was done? Service was slow — took forever to get seated, order drinks or get the check. Chef did a nice job entertaining the girls I brought for my daughters birthday and although he knew it was her birthday no one in the restaurant made any effort to inquire if we wanted anything birthday specific. We were charged adult prices for three of the four child entrees even though the kids all ordered from the kids menu. Just sloppy all around — no way I would go there with adults.
Server could not admit that she did not hear the order correctly and blamed the guest for ordering the wrong item. Refills were not made promptly, the green onion in the soup was old, the avocado on the sushi was brown. You would think this location would be fresher than the other two locations in/near Houston.
This was a great experience! Service and food were excellent. The staff and management made me feel like a special customer.
Our server was awesome. The hibachi “show” was nothing to write home about! The food had absolutely zero flavor! The soup, which is normally one of my favorites was nothing but dingy looking water!!! NO FLAVOR! Was so disappointed as we had our 6 grandchildren out for a nite to Elf the Musical and had rented a limousine and ended up at Benihana’s because that was their choice! Very disappointed! We normally go to the Woodlands! Now we will go to Shoguns!

First time there and knew nothing about how ordering went. The waitress was NOT informative nor was she servicing us with a smile. The chef threw a hot onion ring onto my lap while doing his performance. This experience did NOT meet my expectations.

This restaurant is dirty. The carpet is filthy. The dishes that were originally set at our places were dirty and had to be replaced. The “show” is not as exciting as it was years ago and even the chef at our table seemed bored.
The staff was rude and pushy; tried to get us to buy $400 in gift certificates the moment we walked in the door so we could “save 10%”. When we declined they made us wait 10 minutes for our table even though the restaurant was completely empty.
Not a good meal, not a good presentation, and not a clean environment. Definitely will never return.

It was a nice experience overall. We’ve been there several times but first visit for my dad. He seemed to like it. Unfortunately, our chef was less entertaining as others around us and what we’ve had before. So that was disappointing.

Everything was overall great with the exception of our server. There were multiple occasions where we had to ask for her to come attend us. She was no where to be found. Took plates off our table without asking if we were done with the food.

Edgar, the chef, was great. Waiter was awesome. Older, oriental hostess was rude from the minute we walked in. We got scammed over the buy a gift certificate and get $10 gift certificate for every $50 spent. The sales lady didn't explain it right and told us we could use the gift certificates on the current visit. When we paid, they didn't honor the gifts certificates. Rude hostess started arguing with us that we were wrong. Manager stepped in and took off $20 from our bill, gave us another gift certificate for the trouble. Manager resolved, just left a bad taste in my mouth when we left. It was mine and my son's birthdays we were celebrating.

The food was great; however the guests at the table next to us were extremely loud using foul and offensive language. Our server never checked to see if we needed more drinks, the kitchen was backed up so we received our appetizing after the entree was being prepared. Our soup was lukewarm. Additionally, I had to ask for ice cream that was supposed to be offered as a final course. Birthday occasion wasn’t recognized.

Very good food prepared right in front of you. Spicy edamame and a specialty sushi roll were great before the entree.

This facility is in poor condition. Very tired overall look and the walls are dirty and the client spaces are all very degraded and not in keeping with $40 per person. Food was not as good as in the past and we are very disappointed overall in the cleanliness of the facility. Benihana should invest in a rehab of this facility as it is an embarrassment to the name.
Waiter wasn't resturant savvy. Cook was extremely quite and not very impressive.
