I have dined here since they opened in the ‘70’s. I had my wedding rehearsal here we loved it so much and I return when I can. Came last summer. Service and food excellent. Last night the worst. Food not as good. They need new management or extra help. At 9 pm we still did not have a chef. After complaining we got someone. He was okay but food not as good, 1 “trick” with food. No fanfare. Waitress said they were short staffed. Had a bill issue; corrected problem after 3 different discussions. ($300+ bill wrongly charged on an item 🤦‍♀️) Told manager everything unacceptable. I know this business and location. I pray they fix things before the So.FL ‘season’ or they will close. Got in car 10:50. Crazy.

Chef did not come to table for over a hour. Rare steak was well done- filet was like shoe leather Requested manager twice- excuse was “we are understaffed “ Have been a Benihana regular for 35 years - we will go again but NOT AT THIS LOCATION

Horrible experience. We were seated at 6:35 pm and did not leave until 9:15 pm. The wait time for the chef was ridiculous.

The cook did not listen to requests how to cook the steak. It was overcooked to the point it was not eaten. Service was very slow for the entire table. Overall not was is expected of Benihana.

We LOVE Benihana, but this experience was different from ANY Benihana we’ve ever been to over the years. First, there were no “tricks” which we’ve never seen before. Literally no onion volcano or anything even close to that. And secondly, the grill area was quite dirty not only at arrival, but even after the chef lightly cleaned it before cooking. Just didn’t feel like a clean environment.

The chef and the food were wonderful. Our server not so much. Not attentive, drinks not refilled unless we flagged her down, then gave other people at the table the refill that didn't ask for it, had to ask for our rice after our meal was cooked and she looked confused. Kept acknowledging the wrong person for birthday celebration.

THE WHOLE RESTAURANT NEEDS A RENOVATION. YOU WALK IN AND IT SMELLS OLD AND YOU CAN SEE THE FOG FROM ALL THE BURNING THAT IS HAPPENING WHILE COOKING THE FOOD. IT NEEDS MORE VENTILATION AND A BETTER AIR CONDITIONING. GRANTED THE COOKING IS DONE IN FRONT OF US, BUT DON'T THINK IT IS NEEDED TO KEEP THE COOK TOP ON FOR SUCH A LONG TIME. WE WORE ALL SWEATING SO MUCH WE HAD TO ASK FOR A SECOND ROUND OF WATER TO TRY TO KEEP FROM WALKING OUT. WE HAD A PARTY OF 8 SO WE HAD A TABLE FOR OURSELVES AND THE RESERVATION WAS DONE FOR A 7 PM DINNING. THE WAITRESS TOOK OUR DRINK ORDER AT ABOUT HALF HOUR AFTER WE SAT. DID NOT SEE ANYONE ELSE COMING OVER AND ASKING IF WE NEEDED ANYTHING, ONE OF US HAD TO GO TO FRONT AND ASK WHEN THEY WORE PLANNING TO START COOKING. THE COOK STARTED COOKING ABOUT AN HOUR AND A HALF AFTER WE SAT. THE COOK BURNED THE RISE, OVERCOOKED THE SHRIMP AND THE FILET MIGNON ONLY HAD FLAVOR BECAUSE OF THE MAYONNAISE THAT WE DIPPED IT ON. HE WAS SWEATING LIKE A PIG AND SEVERAL TIMES HAD TO MOVE BACK AND WIPE HIS FACE WITH A TOWEL TO KEEP FROM SWEATING ON TOP OF THE FOOD. GOT TO BE HONEST, NEVER AGAIN GOING TO THAT RESTAURANT.

Waited way too long for the food and after it finally started they got our order wrong 2 times, and when we received it , it was overly loaded with wsu too much garlic butter
