    What a crappy dinner experience for my husband’s birthday dinner. We were squished in with a party of 7 onto a small table 40 minutes after our reservation. To wait another hour for our chef. It took 30 minutes after soup to get our salad which was soggy. We finally get our chef Marco whom was amazing but after he cooked 2 vegetarian dishes we waited another 20 minutes not eating until after 9 , finally hit check and left at 10pm Rediculous wait times

    Took over an hour and a half for the cook to come to the table. Cook was inexperienced, slow, and had poor food presentation.

    It was THREE hrs long! We checked in on time and it took 30 mins to be seated. Then it took another 30 mins before our orders were taken. Our table was seated before the table next to us, and their chef started on their meal before ours arrived. After the meal as completed, the waitress took another 30 mins. I understand that it’s “graduation season” but if your location doesn’t know how to time manage, it makes the experience less desirable. I go for my bday dinner every yr and have visited multiple locations. This was pretty bad. At least let the guest know wait times beforehand and not make up excuses after the fact. I would have come another day. Our Chef Jorge was great but everything else was disappointing.

    Our family's first and last visit to Benihana in Carlsbad, CA, turned into a nightmare on what was supposed to be our last celebratory vacation dinner. Despite clearly and repeatedly informing our server about our daughter's severe sesame seed and tree nut allergies, she was served a garlic sauce containing sesame seeds and became ill. The immediate aftermath was terrifying. My wife had to rush our daughter back to our hotel next door to administer medication. Our daughter was too unwell to return, and the rest of our family's meal was understandably overshadowed by worry. While I remained calm during the incident, the lack of appropriate action from Benihana after endangering our daughter is deeply concerning. Compensating only her meal was a wholly inadequate response to a situation that impacted our entire family's experience and, more importantly, put our daughter's health at risk. For a restaurant to be so negligent with a serious food allergy, and then to offer such a minimal gesture, is truly shameful. We will not be returning.

    Our waiter was great. The chef was terrible, messed up my order, didn’t say a word while cooking, no show, got the portions completely wrong. This is probably the last time I visit Benihana. Overpriced for what you get.

    This was by far the worst Benihana we have been too. We had a reservation for 8:00 pm and did not get seated down on a table till 8:45. By the time that the chef finally showed up it was 9:40. The cook was amazing. Cameron was amazing in cooking for us but the fact that we didn’t have any communication was upsetting. Not one apology. We will not be returning to this location.
