After making a reservation we didn’t get in for an hour after that and didn’t eat for 2 hours after that. The chef was really nice and amazing but come on 2 hour wait with reservations

Sadly, Benihana in Beaverton is not what it used to be. They have instituted cost cutting measures and it is obvious. Chef talent is not what is used to be, our chef spent the time explaining how he was cooking like it was a cooking show. No real eggs anymore for the fried rice. The steaks were fatty and the chef did not cut off the fat. Benihana is not worth the $400 we spent for our family meal. Sadly, after 15 years of going to Benihana for special occasions, we will be looking elsewhere.

The chef had a good sense of humor and did a good job cooking the food. It tasted good, but some of it was too salty. We had a nice time. Good place to celebrate a birthday.

We had a reservation for 6:45 PM. We arrived at 6:42 PM and had to wait 15 minutes to be seated. This wasn't much of an issue until I realized why. Our server, Ana, took our drink and appetizer order then disappeared for 10 minutes. Our drinks arrived shortly along with our appetizer, which was fine. But then we sat. And we sat. And we sat. To the point I finally got up and went to the front desk. We had been waiting for the chef and our server for almost 30 minutes. I realized as I walked through the dining room of 6 or 8 teppanyaki tables, only two had chefs. Everyone else was waiting just like we were. I asked the hostess what the problem was and although she was pleasant, she didn't really have a response. I told her we would pay for our drinks and were leaving. At that moment, the floor manager showed up and somewhat argumentatively told me a chef was headed out to our table right now to begin our preparation. Our chef was great, Ana was great but it was obvious the restaurant was grossly understaffed. It should never have been overbooked as it was. It's not fair to the patron or the employees. We had dirty dishes sitting in front of for most of our meal. Our dessert was served while our dirty dinner dishes were piled up in front of us. The staff's vibe was totally stressed because they couldn't keep up. Our meal was $337.20 and needless to say, I doubt any of us will be going back. I should also note there was another family at our table with two 9 or 10 year old boys so for them it was probably worse. I want to make sure whoever reads this that these issues were a complete failure on the house management, not the workers. I would also like to point out a manager never explained the wait or apologized but only showed up after the chef had been cooking for 20 minutes. We left at 9:15 - 2.5 hours after we arrived with 1/3 of that time spent waiting.

This was a annual birthday dinner that has been going on for many years. This years visit was the best and Joseph, who was our chef, made it te best!

Excellent early evening meal using my birthday certificate from Benihana’s. Our chef was skillful, entertaining w/out being too silly. We will be back!

We had to walk out. We didn't even get seated until 45 min after our reservation time. We left after 1 more hour (2 Hours Total) because the raw food that would be cooked in front of us was still NOT OUT. It was the most ridiculous experience ever. Ended up feeding my kids TACO BELL because it was the only thing open at almost 8:30PM by the time we walked out of Benihana. The manager took ZERO accountability. And this was a party of 7 people for my sons BIRTHDAY.

Probably the worst experience. Almost a 30 min delay in getting to our table. Waitress was rude and would not remove extra dishes as the dinner was started (soup and salad dishes etc) we had to move the dishes ourselves to make room. Our chef was great (Kol) but our waitress killed the whole dinner. To make it worse, she stood over our shoulders as we were processing our credit card and leaving a tip on her handheld device. Mind you the computer was around the corner and she could have taken the card and let us leave a written tip on our own. A family of 5 is almost $300 now. We won’t be coming back. Super bummed as we’ve enjoyed the yearly birthdays here but with the horrible service and high prices, the choice has been made for us. Do better Benihana!
