   We had a reservation for 6 for a birthday and we waited 45 minutes. Wayyyy tooo long . Overcrowded, understaffed. Their mistake and they should have made up for that. Instead both our waiter and cook solicited online reviews so they can get rewarded. It was obvious that by this time they were both tired and just trying to be done. Love love Benihana and know they are always behind but this was next level and kind of spoiled the night

   Chef Brady crushed it! JD too. Great time. They ran about 1 hour late on our reservation, but otherwise all stellar.

   We were so disappointed that we made a reservation at 7, and were not seated until 8:15. They should have notified us they were behind and we would have made other plans. Also, no discount or anything to make up for it.

   We had a 7pm reservation and arrived about 10 mins early and had to wait to even check-in with the host, the waiting area was packed. After finally getting to the host to check-in we were told that even with a reservation our wait time would be about ONE HOUR! The people in the waiting area had 6pm reservations and were waiting for their table! The host blamed the overbooking on OpenTable and the central call line for Benihana - apparently they let anyone book a table regardless of how many tables are available. This was extremely frustrating as we were there to celebrate a birthday and no other options were available around there that wouldn’t also require an hour wait (without a reservation). When we did finally get seated an hour later the service was good and the chef was very entertaining. But, we probably wouldn’t go back again to celebrate anything bc the wait time with a reservation is not reasonable. And, after reading other reviews it seems like it’s a common issue.

   Discussed with manager. Experience was awful. Chef was new and nervous. Over seasoned food to the point of being non-eatable. Ordered fried rise and chef did not portion correctly and one person in our party did not get a full serving. Chef scraped all the burnt pcs off the grill to try to make up the shortage which was awful. Service was slow. Everything was overcooked. Lobster and shrimp rubbery. Steak overcooked. Chicken dry. Worst experience ever at Benihana. Manager came to table and noticed we weren’t eating. We said why. He did nothing.

   It has been a birthday tradition for me to have my birthday dinner here. They have made changes to how they do things that were disappointing. I do not blame management or staff of the location as it was noticeably clear these were changes forced upon them by the corporation. What corporate fails to realize is doing the small things is what makes coming here special, The portion size shrunk very much down as the number of vegetables was cut back big time. Adding a $2 charge if you wanted teriyaki took away the taste of the food. Making chicken fried rice an additional seven dollars and then there was no chicken in my rice. It used to be that I never ever finished my dinner, and I had plenty to take home. Due to the cut backs in portion size, I finished every bite of my meal something I had never done before in all the time I have been coming. I understand the cost of business is rising and some changes need to be made but the people who own this company should have done some kind of market research before making these kinds of changes. They are going to put themselves out of business with poorly thought out moves like these
