Very disappointing . Had heard great things. Our food did not meet our expectation. It was it very hot and the rice with the short ribs tasted old.
Very lovely surroundings, service was great, but food was just so-so. Appetizer and dessert were the best. We really did appreciate the manager giving us $10 off when the Open Table rewards card wouldn’t work AGAIN.
I'm surprised it wasn't crowded on a Friday night. The food was superb and is a great place, very elegant. They must not advertise.
Ecellence service! Awesome wine list! Would recommend this restaurant!
Veal was tough /hard to cut, Drinks ordered-moscow mules-not serviced in copper cup and ginger beer was overpowering-I couldn't even drink it. Reservation was to include a reserved table outside under the heater by waterfalls--nothing reserved and heater provided on the end of the balcony did not help/we didn't even think it was working-we were cold! And hostess was not very friendly, didn't great us...special request was for my husband's birthday..not sure if we will return. Guy that opened the front door said "Did you know there is an age limit?!? ok...and then said we were vastly under the age...so that really set the stage.
The balcony was filled ...no reserved table for us...everyone on the balcony was underdressed for Saturday night dinner..very disappointed!! This was to be a very special occassion for us. The chairs on the balcony were made for midgets and both me and my husband were not comfortable. But when we asked for better seating, staff gave us mean looks. We wish we would have got up and walked out. Hostess, never said one word to us when we walked by her to leave. Why would anyone come again?
Had a wonderful experience with friends to celebrate two birthdays. Service was exceptional. the brussel sprout salad was not too good but rest of the food was great. Will be back.
Great food and service!
The best wine selection at reasonable prices. Great food and service. My only complaint is they do not have late dining.
What a lovely find! We have been driving by this beautiful structure for many years on our drive back to Los Angeles from La Quinta; did not know what to expect. We were looking for a place to celebrate my birthday, but found that many of the restaurants in the desert were not yet open from their summer hiatus. We popped in for a cocktail around lunch time the previous day to check it out. Busy. Bar was inviting. So far so good. The structure itself is impressive; beautiful Golf Course, Club House and venue.
The next evening, we dined in the main dining room. Very elegant. Food was beautifully prepared and superb. Great service; staff is extremely attentive and well trained in hospitality. Just a great experience all the way around. Great food, great cocktails and wine list, great service, great ambiance, great view, bunnies frolicking, what more could you ask for? Can't wait to return!
Very enjoyable evening with friends, great food and service.
Nice spot for dinner, though I wish the windows in the dining area were large enough to enjoy the view of the golf course and mountains. Our server was great. My wife enjoyed her prime rib. I had the veal piccata. It was slightly overcooked and tough, and it could have used a bit more seasoning. Overall though, it was an enjoyable dinner.
We sat on the patio with a lovely view of the gold course. Our waitress was very attentive and the food was good.
We asked for one of the square tables in the center of the dining room for the three of us. There were only 2 tables being utilized for diners in that main room at 12 noon and the woman seating us said the tables were set for dinner? That was a first for us. We were told that we could only be seated at the banquet on the wall. Only 1 place setting would have had to be removed on the four top. This was not an impressive start.
Shannon was an exceptional server.
Ritz-Carlton Rancho Mirage
The food and service was fantastic. The only criticism I have is that the wine list is outdated. Many of our selections were not available. Other than that it was great.
We love this place. The wine list is off the charts with hard to find older vintages at very good prices.
Happy hour is the big draw, because of the discounts.
We prefer coming in after happy hour and enjoying cocktails in the bar and then moving to the dining room for dinner. The place is not very busy as it is off the path a little bit but they use great product.
The barrel cut filet is not huge but the best part of the tenderloin. I am a big scotch fan and they have some very good choices as well as the coolest ice cubes.
Natalie the bartender took care of us in the restaurant and bar. The service was top notch.
The only negative is that they close early because of the lack of late night traffic.
Again no disappointment...celebrated another birthday with some friends and it was most excellent. The service and food above reproach and the spacious dining room ideal for those that are handicapped.
As always, excellent menu, very good service, and outstanding views. Meals are reasonably priced. Good bar. Attractive room and friendly ambience.
Let me just start with the ambiance, fantastic. Nicely decorated restaurant and amazing views of the Classic Club golf course. The server, Natalie was very accommodating and had a wonderful knowledge of the menu and had great recommendations. The restaurant was not extremely busy and we never felt rushed. The server assistant Brandon was spot on with clearing the table and making sure that our water glasses stayed full. The food was great...Pork chop, Sea Bass, Crab Cake special of the day and Salmon were all cooked perfectly served HOT and had fresh wonderful flavor. Desserts ended the meal on a perfect note. Half Baked cookies with ice cream and a unique Churro Bowl with Ice Cream...yum !!
This is a hidden gem...it looks and feels like a private club but it is open to the public....glad I foound this restaurant. Natalie told me about their Prime Rib Wednesdays, 3 course meal for $ 29 cant wait to go back.
Always enjoy lunch or happy hour here especially when it is not to hot and we can set out on the lovely balcony over looking the beautiful golf course. Dinners are also most delicious!
Bellatrix has an elegant dining room, yet because it is associated with the golf course it is not stuffy. The menu offered a variety of interesting fish and meat dishes. The four of us enjoyed the Chilean sea bass, turmeric coated salmon, and steak. The desserts were also very inventive and delicious. Our server was very attentive and pleasant.
Love the view and the food! Doesn’t get much better.
Great Meal! Great Service! Met all our expectations! Thank you!
Fantastic! Always great food every year!
On vacation in Palm Desert and Bellatrix sounded like a good option for dinner. We had the filet and the scallops, both the entrees and the service were excellent. The filet may have been the best I have ever had.
3/21/17 we came as part of a Groupon Gift Promotion....we took advantage of it for a Birthday Celebration...we now find ourselves back a year later for the same Birthday Celebration. It was as good as the first time and we now have a tradition staring in our new home in Palm Desert.
Staff was very accommodating and friendly. Food was excellent. Highly recommend for anyone looking for a place to celebrate special occasions as well as dinners and lunches.
Food was not hot - but did not send back - as other guests eat without you. Make sure all plates hot when brought to table. There was NO cocktail menu for a restaurant that size. Was told cocktail menu only at bar. Lots of empty tables???
Terrific food. We love this place. Fast, friendly service.
This was a first visit and for lunch; so we were not certain what to expect. We were seated in the bar area which can be extremely noisy. The food was good, and the service very good. Will give it another try now that we know more about the seating. This is a lovely building with beautiful views, especially downstairs by the Grille where there is a waterfall, beautiful flowers and view of the golf couse.
We have consistently enjoyed our lunches at Bellatrix. It's not too crowded for lunch so it's a good place to meet for a longer lunch with friends. Food and service are consistently good.
Upon our timely arrival for our reservation, we were made to wait while the host ran around trying to "multi task" a sale of wines plus directing other staff. Then we were seated at a table for 2 in a corner -- great idea but next to us was a table of 10 who were (not their fault) having a loud and wonderful time. We could hardly hear each other over their shouts. Service staff was polite but obviously anxious to attend to other duties. We are great fans of chilean sea bass. While it was cooked okay, it was overrun by the heaviness of the sauce and the horrid pickled red cabbage which belonged over pork or some other similar meat. It, too, was all wrong for the delicate fish. We went to Bellatrix based on past years, but won't return.
Always a great dining experience and great wine list.
Great meal and service too. Highly recommended.
We had great food and a fun waitress who made lunch interesting. Bellatrix never disappoints. Also do fabulous wine dinners.
Had friends in from out of town and wanted an outdoor setting with a view. Could not have asked for anything better. View, service and food were exceptional.
This is country club ambience- you either like it- or you don't. You do want to be out on the terrace- that's where the lovely across the golf course to the mountains view is. We all had salads and they were fresh, good sized and nicely presented. The soup was excellent as well.
Our waitress was very attentive and friendly. All in all, a very nice experience.
A lovely birthday lunch was made more special by outstanding food and exceptional service! This is a lovely spot for food and viewing the graceful landscape. Beautiful venue!
Easy access for meeting a friend doing a road trip along I-10. Appreciated not feeling rushed so that we could enjoy catching up. Good menu selection. We recommend the meatloaf sandwich and grilled chicken mango salad.
Food was excellent. Service was attentive. Limited hours for dinner. Beautiful ambience. Good wine list. This is kind of a hidden gem in the desert. Give it a try! You won't be disappointed.
