My wife and I had dinner here on 2/20 on our trip to San Antonio. I had the Rigatoni which was wonderful. She had the Pasta Bella and loved it. The small room is intimate, with lots of natural stone, and low lighting. Service was excellent. We liked it so much we reserved a table for 2/21. This time sHe had the Rigatoni and I had the filet mignon. Another great dinner!

This is a great place. Like eating in a cave. Small tables close together and just a cool place. We live in San Antonio and this is our favorite restaurant on the Riverwalk!

David and his staff are true professionals. We make a trip to San Antonio twice a year for business purposes, and Bella on The River has become a required stop because of the excellent food, quality wait staff, excellent wine choices. I cannot recommend this restaurant highly enough, and look forward to my next visit!

Well run by David and his staff, this reasonably priced high end restaurant is perfectly located on the river walk.

We love the restaurant. The only issue we’ve ever had, and it is always an issue, is the noise level is more than “energetic, it’s annoyingly loud. There is always at least one table that assumes everyone is there to be entertained by them. I know the staff has very little control over this, but it is a deterrent from repeated visits.

Have been dinning here since the week they opened. Always the best quality food, the very best ambiance and the attention to service is second to none. Great place for a casual dinner or a very special event. You want to keep coming back! Thank you Bella for always making our experience the very best!

Went the day before Valentine's. The owner or older gentleman who greeted gave an unpleasant look to my wife and I when we came in. (We were the youngest couple in the restaurant). There were way to many tables crammed in that room. The restaurant is one small room with exception of the kitchen and restrooms. So every time someone had to go to the restroom or an employee had to go to the kitchen, there was this awkward tension of me having to scoot my chair forward or lean towards the table for them to squeeze through. That ruined any opportunity for trying to connect with my wife.
I ordered a pasta with shrimp and my wife ordered fish. The meals tasted fine, but they were both $30 plates that tastes worth $10. Our waitress was doing her best, but it seemed like she was tired and just wanted to go home. It's a neat atmosphere but the experience could be alot better.

Don't be fooled by the logo or outside appearance, this place is an elegant gem. We had mussels, the filet, and paella. Nervous about the paella as we had just had a trip to Valencia but it was cooked well and tasty. Filet was cooked to perfection. Service was eloquent.

Great food and ambiance. Two things that were disappointing - we had indicated on open table it was our anniversary but that was not acknowledged at all. Lastly, we wanted a booking at 7:30pm but nothing was available, so we booked for 6:15. However, we left at 8:15pm and there were always at least 6 tables open, so not sure what the issue was.
