Beachside Restaurant and Bar
Dinner: Daily from 5:00pm - 10:00pm
Happy Hour: Daily from 4pm to 6:30pm
HDTVs in the Bar.
The patio area is fine and overlooks the beach which is fun. We went on a day where you needed to be inside and found it austere and too basic for a business lunch. Food was tasty but i think we would not return
Good food. Food service. Good views. Recommended to anyone
There was a mix up at the restaurant. We booked a Thanksgiving meal through Open Table to start at 2PM. Lo and behold, no turkey or anything else thanksgiving related was being served until 4pm. This was not noted on the website, it wasn't noted when I booked through open table that they weren't serving until 4PM. So it was a pretty bad experience. It's a special day of the year, and Beachside could have made sure that everything was in order. They should have at least put on their menu that thanksgiving dinner is at 4PM. So it was pretty horrendous.
Delicious food with a nice view and good service. We arrived at LAX early a.m. and stopped for breakfast on our way to Venice.
This is one of the more difficult reviews I have written because I loved the location. My husband and I were provided a table in ideal location. We had a view of the beach yet we were under a palm tree so we weren't exposed to direct sunlight. Absolutely perfect! I ordered the crab benedict and he ordered the breakfast scramble. The food did take a while to arrive but we didn't focus on it because of the beautiful view. My crab benedict was excellent unfortunately my husband's food was cold. Thinking he was exaggerating I lean over to take a small bite it wasn't even room temperature it was cold! As if someone had placed it in the refrigerator cold. We contacted the waitress who promptly took it away saying they would make a new order. Roughly 10 minutes later they came back with the same dish and you could clearly tell the food had just been reheated as the potatoes were shriveled up. The manager came over and offered to have them remake his food but by then he was too upset to eat. I left the restaurant feeling guilty because I enjoyed my meal but my husband was hungry and irritated setting the tone for what should have been an enjoyable day off. Oh I almost forgot when we went to get our car the valet tried to charge us for 3 hours as the original valet that parked our car gave us a ticket belonging to someone else. Then when it was discovered what had happened the valet pointed to our car and said its over there.
Love the remodel...........Food was great! I had a fabulous burger - but others said the Fish and Chips were great as well as the steak and eggs, and the Turkey sandwich.
Nice atmosphere inside or outside - very comfortable
Great selection of choices for breakfast, lunch or dinner.
Everyone I take here for breakfast or brunch loves it
Food, service, value all good. Decor could use an upgrade. Furniture reminded me of a used furniture store from the 50s.
We’ve come here for our past 2 anniversaries and have enjoyed it each time. It’s great to sit by the water without all the craziness of some other touristy areas nearby. The service was great and the food is always delicious!
Major improvements on menu and seating.
Not to miss -spinach dip, ( we had 2) fish tacos, brussel sprouts and grilled cheese. Grilled cheese is not your average sandwich instead made with white cheese and jam and so so yummy Server Ron was outstanding despite a very busy patio.
The food was great.was celebrating my friend's birthday. We ordered the crab cakes, shrimp fettuccine & fish tacos. Was delicious.
Always one of my fav haunts. Love sitting outside for the view. Food is very good. My only complaint is they recently changed the menu - fewer items - slightly higher prices!
We had been there many times prior to their remodel. We were very disappointed with the remodel, a lot of views were eliminated and location of the bar was odd. The service was very marginal. We had loved it but hadn’t been there in about a year and not sure if we will go back.
Beachside and Jamaica Bay are exceptional at hospitality. Every time we’ve visited the staff has gone out of its way to make a connection, entertain my kiddos, and create a perfect meal.
Fantastic! The champagne mimosa flight was delicious...and I’m not a typical fan of mimosas! I’d get it again in a heartbeat. My entree was the French toast and fried chicken. So incredibly delicious and I don’t know how I’ll ever order anything else. The hummus appetizer was also delicious with a very tasty hummus and yummy veggies and pita. This is my new “go to” spot. Dining outdoors on the Marina with this delicious food is at the top
Of my list
Valet was amazing to me and my friends. The host was attentive and made good conversation.. loved that! But our waiter was missing almost the entire night, i think we saw him only 3 times and thats only because we asked the bust boy. We got very frustrated with him and it was my friends first time there so it made it look so unprofessional.
The patio dining at Jamaica Bay Inn transported me to the tropics. It was beautiful sitting outside in the sunshine near the water and boats providing a very relaxing experience. The service was attentive without being a bother. Food was delicious and when the dessert I ordered had run out, they complimentary replaced it with another delicious one!
Wonderful food and setting!
Great wait Staff n food was reasonable. Nice view n quiet surroundings. Will go again!!
Great spot for breakfast/brunch in Marina del Rey. Be sure to sit outside. Have had several of their breakfast menu items, all fresh and delicious.
Took so long to get drinks
Not enough servers but ours was so nice
Not good martini glasses!!!!!!
Loved the Beachside Restaurant. The staff was attentive, and the happy hour menu was great. Would definitely come back!
Fantastic location / view in Marina Del Rey, Outside dining with a view of Mother's Beach. Large portions.
Expect good service and reasonable value. Eat outside and enjoy the view of the marina. Food was fine but nothing extraordinary.
Food was not bad compared to the price for each item. I asked for a specific style of food preparation and they were unable to do so. I think most people just come here for the view of the surrounding area. I will not be back again.
It wasn’t very busy when we arrived but it took a long time to take our order and to get our food. We had to call the server over when we wanted coffee and the check.
We always enjoy dinner but the carrot cake is a must to order!!!
First visit here on a warm sunny day - and I’ll definitely be back. Both of us enjoyed our meals, service was awesome (but this was a weekday, not that busy). Views of water and beach and all the flowers were nice. Menu had lots of good choices, from healthy vegan to decadent (fried chicken and Frangelica French Toast - yum)
Decent food but slow service due to routine lack of staff
Food was only moderately good. You pay for the harbor view.
You can't beat the scenery. Their food has gone downhill recently. Custard french toast was very soggy, and the Tuna tar tar has been changed to be more 'poke' themed with obvious coloring. Service wasn't bad, but it just wasn't good. We had a waiter that smiled a lot and i think there was a bit of a language barrier. He never checked on us after we received the food.
Hope they can tighten a few corners and bring it back to 5 star status.
Outstanding food and service
Great overall. Excellent service and nicely-prepared meals.
When I made the reservation, I indicated it was a special occasion and what we were celebrating. Yet, no one at the restaurant was aware of that or acknowledged it. When the Owner / CEO of one of the top Hollywood talent agencies comes to your restaurant to celebrate a success, don't you think it would be a good idea to acknowledge her?
I thought it a little pricy for what you got. There is currently construction on the beach do that is unattractive. Glad we were there for happy hour or it would have been more pricey. It was OK but I won’t be in a rush to go back.
good food, drinks, hospitality, poor table service - could seem to figure out who was our server. drinks
From the hostess station to the food service was sub par!
I have stayed at the Jamaican Bay Inn for yrs and eat most of my meals at the hotel. My local friend meet me for the great cocktail bar and food. Never again!
Hostess and restaurant manager were unfriendly and one night we had reservations we left (due to no one ever came to our table) and the hostess and manager never said a word. Hostess was unkept, bad grammar, bad attitude.
2 nights later we had reservations, we were seated, the waiter never offered water when asked suggestions he was not helpful, we ordered, food finally arrived, crab cake dinner, served burned on one side cold in center from the frozen food bag, my order was a crab cake appetizer only, we had iced tea and one cocktail, total was $78.00 plus tip so almost a $100.00. Waite never asked if we needed anything else, this was on a slow night. AVOID this place!
Bad experience overall so sad used to be our favorite place in Marina del Rey.
The ambience was fantastic. The food was great and our server Suzy made us feel very important. We never needed anything. We will definitely be back!
The server was excellent, the food was great (we had the clambake that they offer during the summer), we enjoyed sitting outside in the sunshine with the view. The only drawback was that the hostesses who seated us were not as friendly and accommodating as they could’ve been. They seemed rushed and a bit terse. At one point I stopped to ask one of them about ordering a special dessert for my friend’s birthday, and she said “sure, we can do that, just find your server.” I had to wander all over the floor to try and find our server, because she was busy picking up orders in the kitchen. The hostess should have offered to help me with that. Otherwise, a great experience!
