I had a confirmed reservation but encountered a lot of confusion when we arrived. Hostess and person taking us to table were unorganized. I asked about a particular drink and Waiter said it was good. Not sure if it was mixed wrong or if the drink was not to our liking Many people tasted and it had a thumbs-down by all. Drink contained Ginger Beer Waaaaaay too much ginger

Disappointed. The view was great and there was plenty of shade on a hot day but unfortunately that is where the good experience ended. Service was friendly but incompetent (wrong drinks delivered, no cutlery provided, appetizers and entrees all came together). Food was hit-and-miss; the chowder was ok, the crab appetizer was delicious, the lobster club sandwich and fish and chips were average and the steak sandwich was inedible.

We had a very nice time and the servers were very helpful. The only thing was that this occasion was for an anniversary and somehow this wasn't mentioned during our time there. We did observe another table had a birthday.

We wanted to take an out-of-state friend to enjoy dining along the California beach. We love this place...make a reservation! We had to go early to get a reservation for breakfast but it was so peaceful and nice. Love the food here. Especially the beignet's!

We’ve been going here every summer for the past couple of summers during the week for our midweek beach days. Everything about the Beachcomber is fantastic! Great food, service, ambiance and also very casual. Since we’re literally walking from the sand to the restaurant in our swimsuits, it’a super convenient. Prices are appropriate for a beach restaurant, a little upper end but worth it for the food and the view! We plan on going many more times before summer is over. I highly recommend the Beachcomber but make sure to make a reservation since business is always steady there.

I absolutely love this restaurant for its location, service, and food. This particular time we had a 3:15 reservation but were able to accommodate us earlier since it was so hot out on the beach.

The Beachcomber is one of our favorite restaurants in Orange County. The food and service is always great, but we come here mostly for the view and atmosphere. Literally, just steps from the beach. We've been patrons here on several occasions and have never been disappointed. When the bugle blows reveille at 5:00 PM, you know it's martini time!

Our waitress flipped a tray at our table and spilled hot coffee and a cocktail on my guest. Had to ask to make an incident report and to be moved to a table where we were not standing in coffee. The manager did comp 3 cups of clam chowder off our bill (big deal) and did not charge us for the spilled drinks. I thought that was very cheap for an restaurant with their reputation. He failed to
Call and check on her the next day so I phoned in mid afternoon to tell him how unhappy and shabby I felt they treated her. I did let him know I planned to give a negative yelp review.

The star of the Beachcomber is the location. It is a great place to end a day at the beach or to enjoy a beautiful sunset. It is difficult to beat the setting but the food is just ok and the price is high for the ok quality of food.

A totally unique, affordable and delectable experience for the region's otherwise pricy, literally elevated venues. This one is loxated at sea level but the food is elevated while prices are not and especially given the cuisine and the historic venue. What a treat!

So we went on a very hot day so that was a downfall to begin with. We had some time before our reservation, so we went to the bar to get a drink. Since there were no tables available, we went up to the bar and ordered our drinks. As soon as we got the drinks a table opened up so we sat down. The table was dirty with spilled drinks and about 4 leftover drink glasses and napkins. The server just kept walking past us and completely ignoring us, since we already had drinks he obviously felt he wouldn't make a tip from us. He probably walked by 10 times without even looking our way (he went to the next table many times, so I know he saw us sitting there). I could have flagged him down, but I was really thinking he would stop by at any time, and I wanted to see how long it would be until he stopped, which he never did. We would have ordered an appetizer, but didn't want to bother placing an order with that server. So we sat there with a dirty table for probably 30 minutes. The server in the restaurant was very nice, but we were at a small table next to a big party and it just felt cramped. We sat down at 4:00pm, I would have preferred ordering dinner rather than lunch, but I guess you can't order dinner until 4:15pm. By that time, I just wanted to order and be done. Wasn't worth the finding a place to park, walking down to the restaurant, and dealing with the crowds!

My husband and I recently visited the area for the first time with our two young children. I was looking for a restaurant with a view of the ocean and my friend happened to recommended this spot. Everything about our experience at the Beachcomber Café exceeded our expectations and made for a truly memorable visit. We each ordered fish tacos and margaritas which were awesome and the view was stunning. We even saw dolphins swimming by which was super exciting for our two young boys. It was a bit of a hike to walk down from the parking lot, but a nice walk and well worth it. We loved the beachy vibe and the delicious food. It was exactly what we were looking for.

It was a good outing. I’ve never been during the summer season and the crowds were insane. Dinner took an extremely long time to get out, and our waiter kept apologizing. We also had to continue to ask for drink refills.
