Beachcomber opened up a dining area actually on the beach with big shade umbrellas and a front row seat to the beautiful ocean. Our server Jordan was just as attentive for breakfast this morning as she was earlier in the week when we dined on appetizers at the bar. My wife loved the entire experience, as well.
We had the best table in the house for our 35 th anniversary,as requested, (we have celebrated many anniversaries here) and our server MAX was so exceptional! We Loved it!
What's NOT to like about the ambience of the restaurant ? It's beautiful !!! However due to restaurant restrictions because of Covid- I felt rushed- drinks, lunch, appetizer and even dessert all came at once.
The food was acceptable
I wish it was easier to get a reservation
The staff were wonderful. I was celebrating my partner’s birthday and her completing a doctorate degree. They made it very special and you are now my favorite place ever! I will be telling everyone!
Amazing breakfast, service and view! Will definitely return when in the area!
Waiter was excellent
You can’t beat eating on the beach. Wonderful experience for the whole family.
The Beachcomber is a fabulous restaurant...good food, great ambiance and if you’re lucky, a beautiful sunset.
A little piece of paradise. Great food, great service and an outstanding location.
Always a favorite! Thank you Jesus for wonderful Service!
Lovely breakfast. The coconut pancakes were delicious.
Chef's Steak Soecial - Rib Eye was awesome... I would order again!
Everything was great. Except we all got our entrees before our salads. They said there was a mistake made in the kitchen. Usually the service is better. It was probably just an off night.
You go here for the ambiance nothing else. I have been here for breakfast and lunch which was much better food and value. They charge high end prices at dinner for very below average food. There were 4 of us and we all order different items. I did the restaurant week special. The beginning salad had good flavor but it was just baby green and roasted peaches.... nothing else. Entree was sole with pesto pasta. The fish was cooked properly but was bland like all they did was pan fry it in oil without seasoning. The pasta pesto so average. Pesto is so easy to make tasty but it lacked flavor and was rather dry. The tiramisu dessert was definitely not made in house. It was like the frozen section of Costco type. So frankly disappointing since the final bill was almost $90 a head and we only had one drink each. Oh I need to mention that they served their calamari on kettle chip so it looks like your getting a lot of calamari but it was mainly chips. Super disappointing. It is not that difficult to serve good food. They have been in business a long time and they were super busy so maybe the corp entities don't realize what is going on. My group all agreed it would have been better to get to go food from another restaurant and bring it to the beach and eat it. We would have gotten the same ambiance at about 1/4 of the price with better food!!!
Great food and atmosphere and service. Need to make reservations unless you go when off times.
We had another great experience at the Beachcomber. We made reservations way in advance. They were also taking occasional walk-ins but the best tables were allocated to the people who had res's. I had the grilled chicken sandwich. It was fantastic and big enough to bring half of it home.
Tables were spaced more than 6 feet apart. Great food and service and as always can’t be a more spectacular view!!!
Great experience. Service was excellent. Saw dolphins while we were eating breakfast
Excellent as usual
Had the best table in the house! Food was outstanding and the atmosphere is incredible!
Decided to head to the Beachcomber with some friends for a casual Saturday breakfast! Star greeted us with a smile and sat us almost immediately. We love her!! Our server Jordan was only ok. Not very friendly, didn’t check back on us...would prefer someone else next time! My husband loved the steak chilaquilles and the eggs Benedict is always excellent! We’ll be back!
Delicious and delightful. The service was impeccable and super friendly. We love the Beachcomber!
Fabulous food service w views of the ocean
on time seating, great location and view, excellent food choices combined with attentive service. who would expect that on a beach?
Breakfast for 3 was pretty much right on perfect. Arrived early and got seated before our reservation time. Server was great, kept the coffee cups full and helpful with the menu. Food arrived quickly and was high quality. Hats off to the entire crew!
I’ve been here a few times and every time is excellent!! Service is great and food is delicious!!
Any where in the front Patio is Best. Indoors if Chilly but the patio has the Ocean Views.
The Promenade is also very nice but you are on "street level" and I like being up on the patio,
ALL was good -
Based on the family environment - I would suggest a revised and updated kid menu.
The desert option was perfect - but there was no small portion veggie option.
There was a lot of fried kid options and not too many healthy opitons - ie grilled chicken or simple street tacos -
Otherwise - all was great - cannot wait to come back.
Also - Recommendations this restaurant is local and small - Please considered incorporating local farm food - as farm to table options - and perhaps creating menus per what is deliververed ? That would be a good draw for the locals-
On of our favorite restaurants in Southern California. Our waiter this time was Carlos and he was fantastic.
The food is fabulous and to sit and listen to the waves is just so relaxing. Very nice place!!
1. Lost our reservation even though 4 of 5 were there including one in wheelchair. So the call/notify if you’ll be longer than 15 min doesn’t mean anything. Tip: Allow yourself an additional 15 min for the Shuttle from the top parking lot to the restaurant.
2. Didn’t acknowledge Birthday that was included in the Notes of the reservation. Was too irritated with the lost reservation to complain.
3. Crammed 5 including wheelchair into a place normally for 4.
4. Hosts had chips on their shoulders towards everyone (not just us).
5. After 90 minutes, Manager notified us Only allowed 90 minutes when seated. So do not go if family reunion or business lunches that may exceed this time limit.
Aside from these (never before experienced) issues all in one lunch, server was nice, food was good and ambiance was good.
Everything was delicious, service was excellent and could not have had a better view.
My friends and I arrived on time for our reservation at 8am, there was a line for check in. An other lady cut and stated she has a reservation and it expires in two minutes while clearly we were in front of her
Amazing experience. A destination restaurant offering a tasty combination of gourmet meals served in a Gilligan’s Island type setting. Joyful, relaxing and delicious.
I love the beach view.
Everything was perfect except for the girl at the front desk. She was kinda rude. I had reservations that I made about a month prior and requested a special table. She told me there are a lot of people waiting for that table. The guy that was with her was very courteous and helped seat us at our special table. The girl at the front desk was useless and not very polite (hence the 4 stars).
One of my favorite beachfront places to eat right now. Casual, beach dining, with upscale food. Typically great service and really delicious food. It’s a little overpriced for casual dining, however the location makes up for it as it’s right on the beach. We enjoy the walk downhill from the parking lot and they validate parking.
Scallops are delicious, wasabi tuna is delicious, Brussels spouts are delicious. I get the beignets every single time I go. Simple, warm and airy. Would recommend all that plus the crab stack... YUM! The roasted artichoke is great, Lobster club is good. The kids menu leaves something to be desired. Has never been good or healthy. They need to offer a small salmon portion or some entree with salad or veggies for kids instead of fried food or frozen burgers hotdogs and fries that are either burnt or grossly overcooked literally every single time. It never looks appetizing. I’ve had to send back my daughters food numerous times because of just how bad it was. Never had a problem with the “adult menu”. It’s fun place to take out of towners there too.
