Great waiter Oscar !
A family gathering of significance..The staff and servers were very gracious and accommodating. This is a favorite place for us.
Stephanie the hostess and Ozzie our waiter were especially kind . attentive.
One of the highlights of our vacation
The Beachcomber is one of our favorite restaurants. It has a great location, great food and excellent service.
We had a reservation for 7.30pm. It was quite chilly in the restaurant. No views because of time of night of course. Very small table for 4 persons. Ordered the chilean seabass. Too much soy sauce overwhelmed it. It was our wedding anniversary but the restaurant did not mark it or refer to it in any way at all. Would not be back for dinner, maybe it's better for lunch.
As usual this gem of a restaurant lived up to our expectations. It is our go-to for entertaining friends from out of town. The best view of the American Riviera.
Always fun to drive up and relax on the beach. I enjoy the people. Service is always good. The weather was beautiful. My friend celebrated her birthday and received a free dessert that was amazing.
Go every time we are in Newport Beach. Best breakfast ever. Try the beignets!!
Good menu with something for everyone. Service was excellent! Food was prepared as ordered.
Fabulous food, fabulous Bloody Mary, can’t beat the views plus if you walk around, you get a taste of history and what life was like back in the early 1900’s. Love going there for breakfast, lunch and dinner!!
All four of us enjoy this restaurant evertime we are in town. Sorry no pictures to share.
Brought French toast with candle for bday!
My experience was marred due to my seating. I was sat next to stacked children high chairs. I asked the host to sit at an available table and he told me "I think that is reserved" and as soon as I sat down another couple was sat there. If that seat was not available he could have said, what about this seat? Instead, he sat me in the back and it affected my enjoying the ambiance, especially when entrées are $35 plus. I would think I should be able to like where I was seated.
Great place for a romantic date night. It's a little pricey but the meal generally makes up for it. I've had most things on the menu and few if any really disappoint. If you want a steak, skip the New York and get the Filet Wellington, it's worth the difference. The New York isn't anything to write home about. My last one was very chewy from a poor cut.
Amazing! Great food....! ...and great service (Annie)! We'll be back!
The uniqueness of the location and the overall experience far exceeds any other breakfast I have ever enjoyed anywhere in the world.
Always a highlight of my SoCal trips.
The Beachcomber is a fabulous find on Crystal Cove. It’s relaxed atmosphere and fabulous food make for a great time. I visited twice while in New Port Beach for a week
Excellent food great atmosphere lovely outside dinning overlooking the ocean
Great food and service, even better atmosphere. Love bringing guests there with me and walking down the beach and the trails after a great time at the Beachcomber!
Absolutely perfect sunset dining experience. Great service, great food, and an unbeatable view! For couples and families...great experience!!!
Best beach view. The food is very good. The beignets are a must. We went in November in the morning and it was jaut amazing. I love this place every time I come.
My sisters birthday! It was lovely, and she was served a birthday dessert w a candle!
I enjoy the Beachcomber. The view is spectacular and normally the food is wonderful. However, I cut/nicked my lip on a glass of water that had a chip. We ordered a NY strip steak medium to well and it was brought to the table medium. The wait staff don’t come to ask how things were-when they finally returned and we let them know about the steak they took it back to the kitchen and brought out he same piece without sauce. We asked for sauce and it never arrived. It wasHalloween and not busy at all. What I am angry about is that the staff didn’t log me into open table! Once I received the open table email, I called and staff wasn’t able to fix it. I asked for the manager. After a hold for over 10 minutes Justin came to the phone and shared he wasn’t able to correct the error. There was a new log in system. Justin let me know the manager would contact me the next day prior to noon. I never received a phone call.
Went to dinner last night, 10/29/18, with a 7:00 pm res. The place was so dark! They need more lighting both within the restaurant and beyond near the walkways and ocean. You could hardly read the menu. I had what is supposed to be the specialty, braised short ribs, and they were over cooked and dry. The sauce and ravioli they were over was great, but the meat barely edible. The FruitI de Mare was okay. A disappointment for the price.
We put in for a reservation about a month ago. Always a treat to eat at the Beachcomber.
Server Jimmy was awesome! We brought out of town guests and it’s always a great spot
Beachcomber is always a fun experience! The stroll under PCH, the view, the food, and the attentive staff make it amazing every time.
As usual the food was wonderful and our server Veronica was exceptional. Beautiful sunset. Will be back very soon!
Only issue is they don’t serve brunch or any egg dishes after 11 am on the weekend! Also I made
A reservation and was a few mins late and they did not hour my open table points and we still sat down a about 15 mins later ...
A beachside beauty with friendly service and a million dollar view. The staff are always friendly. On this visit we tried the egg white frittata which came out hot. Sometimes the food does not arrive hot. Worth a fourth plus mile round trip bicycle ride.
Fun restaurant. .very creative food, lots of people watching at the beach. We rode our bikes there and earned our food. Thought a 215 pm reservation was going to be too late but it was perfect. Can't wati to come back!
We had a delightful lunch on Thursday, October 25, 2018.
It could not have been better.
Wish I could dine at the Beachcomber more often.
Tradition for our stays at the beach, an early brunch with an eye opener. A decent bloody & some good egg choices.
The fact the one is literally dining on the beach is the magic.
Already looking forward to next time!
My husband and I celebrated our 20th anniversary here. Being right on the beach inside the state park at Crystal Cove, it is an unusual and charming place. At dinner time you can hear and see the waves crashing on the beach; other than that it is quite dark. You park in the Crystal Cove State Beach parking area, and a bus takes you to the restaurant for $1.50 each way, then you walk a pathway down to the beach, so it's a bit of an adventure. But it's fun and different; our dinners were delicious but it is a bit pricey. For breakfast and brunch, you would certainly get to see much more of the beach and ocean. This restaurant books up for ALL meals, so reservations well in advance are needed.
Having grown up in Newport Beach, this is always the perfect spot for locals or to bring out of town guests.
It was great
I have been going to the Beachcomber for lunch for several years. I always enjoy the food, service and ambience. Great venue if you love the ocean as I do. Not easy to get a reservation and sometimes, the wait is long. Nice bar area though.
Awesome location right on the beach at Crystal Cove. Shrimp tacos were excellent. Just enough spice, but not too much. Clam chowder was creamy with lots of clams and topped with crumbled bacon.
