Ryan our waiter was exceptional, the value was very good, the ambience was great and the beach being 50 feet away made the evening wonderful.
Had a 9:15 reservation they had me down for 8:45 and a no show. Thank goodness they got us in without waiting but I know if this would of been a Saturday the outcome might of been different!
I took my friend of over 40 years for a birthday celebration and it was amazing. We had a drink in the bar prior to dinner with live music and it as simply perfect. I have never been disappointed at this restaurant. Great service, great service and a location that can’t be beat!
Mahi Mahi spring rolls were amazing! The clam chowder is the best around and you get to eat it while listening to the crashing waves.
Beachfront location, ambiance couldn’t be better!
This place is a real gem, one of the few places right on the beach here in California, the food is surprisingly good. The most annoying thing is they won’t seat you until everyone in your party is present - which is a pain when you have to park on top of the hill & take the shuttle down. Always waiting for the driver of the party to arrive.
I would never pay $8 for a beer..you are way over priced.
Of course, the weather was PERFECT so sitting outside with the best view imaginable was so excellent! We went for a late lunch so we could sit and enjoy the beach without concern that someone was waiting for our table. All 4 meals were just right as was the service. It has been a few years since we went to the Beachcomber and I guess I forgot how much we liked it. We will definitely be back!
Excellent food. Our server was nice but a little lacking on his service. Had to ask a couple of times for additional water and for him to clean the table.
We've chosen The Beachcomber for most of our special occasions. We like to sit on the beach before and after our meals. Nothing matches the view of the ocean. They ring a bell when whales or dolphins are spotted. If you're inclined, it's easy to make conversation with other guests or enjoy the view and food alone. Hostesses and servers are skilled, friendly and efficient. So much more.
Beachcomber is always wonderful. We always take out of town guests here.
This place can't be beat for ocean-front dining. The deck on he beach has the best views anywhere and wonder of wonders, the food is excellent. It is a little pricey but, as they say, you pay for what you get.
Mom was in town
A must do. Great spot right on the beach. So fun and they have amazing food including beignets. Oh so yummy.
It’s awesome! Try the shrimp tacos, very good and very spicy! Or try that salad with dates and the passion fruit vingrete with added salmon or mahi....
The first time I tried coming here they told me it was a 3 hour wait, which I obviously didn't do. I made reservations and came in with some friends to eat. The food was great and moderately priced. The cocktails were expensive. $10 for one mimosa is a bit steep. The ambiance was great. The one thing that was sort of disappointing was having to ask for simple things multiple times. It took 3 people to get me a bottle of Cholula and 2 people to bring sugar to the table for the coffee. Others than that it was a great breakfast.
Great Service, good food and awesome view. Somewhat of a wait to be seated, but you forget about that with the great view.
First time wanted to get a reservation. Took a while to find an opening (three weeks) but our wait person said 70% walk in 30% reservation so will probably walk in next time. Great food, perfectly prepared, we had a great experience, thanks!
We loved our lunch at the Beachcomber Cafe!! The food and service were fantastic!! We were seated promptly at the time of our reservation and the view was wonderful. I will definitely recommend this restaurant and we will definitely be back again. ❤️
Excellent beach front dining!
The fish taco is the best ever and the watermelon mojitos is exceptional. To complete a great meal just order beignet and cappuccino. I was in heaven :-)
Such a special place. A meal at the beachcomber and a day at the beach makes for a magical family day. Food is great. Ambience is authentic and reminds my mom of her days growing up in Laguna in the 1950s.
Hreat place for breakfast! One of my favorites. Right on the beach in a historic area.
We got to the restaurant an hour early so we can catch the sunset. When it was over we stopped in to see about having a drink on the bar side before dinner, but encountered staff that was so friendly and helpful that they were able to accommodate us for immediate seating even on a busy night. Our server Courtney could not have been sweeter to us, and even brought me extra brandied cherries because I mentioned how much I love them. Dinner was lovely - I had the swordfish, friends had ribeye, it was all a great experience, under the stars. Try the yummy beignets for dessert and the cocktails are all awesome!
I had a Birthday Brunch there and the view and food was amazing!!
Beautiful rustic beach atmosphere...great dining! My favorite place ❤️
Servers are always fun and provide the best service!!!
I ordered zucchini fettuccini and it was out of this world we also ordered the chopp salad and the Asian chicken salad unfortunately the chicken came uncooked but the waitress offered to bring another one right away and apologized she was great and very attentive and not too pushy . The ombiance and view of the beach was fantastic and relaxing. Definitely recommend this restaurant to every one
Great dining on the beach but very popular so recommend making reservations well in advance. 3 of us ordered fish and chips which lived up to expectations but, as this was first visit, can't comment on other dishes. Cocktails are very generous and yummy!
Dining by the ocean with great food..
What could be better
One of my all-time favorite restaurants. The location is incomparable - located on the sand at the beautiful Crystal Cove. We love it for breakfast. Great food, great service.
We'll be back...soon!
Great food great service fantastic location. So special
The waiter was rude. There was a hair in our omelette. It was replaced; however it took a while longer. Overall food was good. Parking is a hassle since the shuttle charges for rides and after 3 hours your validated ticket will still get you charged for parking which can be 5 bux an hour extra
Lunch options were good but could have been better. Breakfast is amazing. Dinner I have yet to try. Friendly prompt service. Reasonable prices for quality, and atmosphere. Parking validation for up to 3 hours. The beignets are a must try. Even though I was running late 15 minutes, I called ahead to let them know I was waiting for the shuttle in the parking lot across the street. They were understanding. My boyfriend and I were seated immediately. Without reservation it can take up to one hour. And please, take a walk on the beach after your meal. I love Crystal Cove and The Beachcomber Cafe.
Waiting to get into this place forever! Always packed! Did not disappoint me or my hubby! Food, service and location all amazing! Will definitely go back again with proper planning!
We love going to the Beachcomber for breakfast. The food and service is always great as is the ocean in the background. Always wonderful...
Food wasn’t anything special. Menu was sad. If I wanted typical tasting options offered I would’ve just ate at home. There were a few things I wanted to try and I was disappointed by them. My wife’s crab cake Benedict was good but not stellar and my corned beef hash was garbage. The drinks were mediocre and watered down. Only thing this place had going for it was the view. Our waiter couldn’t even make eye contact, he just kept looking everywhere else but our table.
I took my out of town guests to a late afternoon lunch/dinner to give them a real California experience. They loved it. My only complaint is that I could only get a 3:15pm reservation. I know it was a holiday weekend, but this was the only time I could get 3 weeeks in advance.
Pleasantly surprised that the food was so good because the location is incredible. Enjoyed the crab stack. Portions were generous. Everything we ordered was very good. Will make this a tradition when we’re in Newport.
Great food and great scenery, right on the beach. The waiter who took care of us did a great job.
