One of the most inspired meals we have had in Hawaii - with an equally magnificent viewing. Try to catch the sunset. Truly wonderful!
So fancy! Amazing cocktails and worth the price. You actually feel fuzzy and can be okay with just one instead of having to order a second.
Pricy and the service was on point. Definitely an amazing experience. Very romantic.
Beautiful oceanfront location. Somewhat noisy as there were families with children there. When I booked it I mentioned it was for a birthday celebration and the staff made sure to acknowledge it several times which was much appreciated. The portions were generous.
We have been here multiple times, usually can’t be beat, but tonight we had the worst service we have ever had!
We had to pour all of our wine, I know not a big deal but our waitress came to our table our glasses ate empty and she drops off our dinner and leaves
We waited a while to order and just basically ignored the whole night
Not as before and not as expected at the 4 seasons
We ate at Tommy’s the night before a 100 times better
We won’t be back! Disappointed for sure
Spectacular sunset views on the beach.
The food and service were wonderful
Exceptional service from our server, Natalie, as well as the hostesses and bar staff. The restaurant and hotel are magnificent--the location is breathtaking. I ordered the roasted beet salad and chicken which were delicious. My husband ordered the special fresh fish (Opa) and he ate up every flaky morsel. The sunset was absolutely beautiful. Overall, one of the most fabulous meals we have ever enjoyed in Hawaii. Mahalo.
My favorite meal and ambiance for the last meal on Kona before heading to the airport!
On the beach. Lovely location. Sophisticated casual. Expensive for a beach bar, it’s in the four seasons hotel, but worth it.
Food was very average and prices were very high. This may have been our worst meal on the big island. Would not recommend to a friend. Their service and location was beautiful.
I’ve never experienced this level of service. Everyone from the hostess to our server was amazing. We came here for our engagement dinner and were just blown away. The view was gorgeous, the people were lovely, and the food was delicious. We’ve never felt so special at a restaurant and we’ve had a lot of fine dining experiences. We’re still raving about it at home.
This place is awesome. The food is exquisite (corn agnolotti, fresh catch of the day, key lime pie...YUM). The service is amazing (shout out to Taylor who is a fantastic server). The atmosphere is relaxed and it couldn't be in a better location. Highly recommend!!!
The service, food, and drinks were excellent. Fantastic location on the beach to see the sun set. Definitely will recommend. Server was a pleasure to talk with as she presenting the menu and helping us decide our choices. Great job.
Beach tree never disappoints.
We love this restaurant. The views, food and service. But the 2 times we have been there, it has been overrun with little kids running and screaming through the restaurant, running on the grass in front with their parents laughing and doing nothing about it. With dishes priced at $30+, I wish the restaurant would do something about this. The manager even came over to us to ask if we wanted to move because the table with 3 small children next to us were running wild.
The food quality at the price point offered was disappointing. The ambience was beautiful but the food was mediocre at best. I would not return for dinner.
One of the best burgers anywhere, even if it’s not on the menu. Just ask for it. Service is excellent and the setting on the ocean, with live music, is. Perfect.
Everything is always perfect at the Beach Tree! It is our "go to" place for special times.
Our dinner entrees were mediocre. My husband had the fish special - a bit too fishy. I had the roasted rosemary chicken - could have been a bit more tender as it was difficult to cut into the meet with the fork. Presentation was nice. Service inattentive/slow even though cheery waitstaff.
Fish was tough and fibrous. Waitress never showed up again after the order was taken. Had to mention it to the bus boy. Junior manager came out and offered us some bon bons. Not up to four seasons standards.Have enjoyed dinner there at least 20 times before. This was our most disappointing experience. Someone really dropped the ball.
Great evening had by all. Aloha evening, wonderful way to say Aloha and Mahalo to the Islands.
Spent a week on the Big Island of Hawaii and it was our best overall experience bar none!
This is one of my most favorite places on earth! 5 Star service and delicious food - Not to mention the view. We come every year.
Wonderful experience! The food was amazing. The steak was so tender and juicy. Had the banana split for dessert and it was also very good. Our server was also very attentive, made us laugh, and met our every request. A perfect night out. The highlight of our trip!
What a delightful experience having an excellent dinner on our Thanksgiving on the Big Island - on the beach, watching the sunset. My wife loved the traditional turkey dinner and my Opa was superb; wonderful bartender (Tehani) and great service (Wade).
Waitress was awful and made the dinner very unpleasant. I didn’t enjoy the food either.
Our server Rachel is Fantastic! We will ask for her every time!
Sashimi thick cut and had gristle lines
Fish was tissue like and gelatinous in middle
Arrived 15 early and was told we could wait for our requested ocean view table - which remained empty and waiting - while we were seated far inside rather than standing around to wait. The table we requested remained empty until just after 6 when someone else was seated in it. If a server is not available for 15 minutes due to service spacing the seat should be offered as a courtesy with an explanation that service will begin at 6
Service was lack luster in general
It was a Sunday. Staff was different than our Friday dining experience. It Felt like it was the B team on Sunday.
We dine at least four times a year during our two trips annually to the island. All prior experiences have been excellent. This one was disappointing.
White tablecloth service at this casual beachfront spot with gorgeous view of the ocean. You pay for the high quality of the food and the high level of service, but if that's what you're into, it's worth it. The mozzarella appetizer was awesome, as was the goat cheese crostini dessert. Pasta special (mushroom ravioli-type dish in a cream sauce) was also very good, as was the fish special (ono). Both could have used more seasoning, but that might be a plus for some people. Very family-friendly atmosphere.
Boy has Beach Tree gone down since the days when Chef Nick revitalized it.
Bad Caesar salad. Inedible thick slabs of kanpachi. Rich, yet remarkably tasteless shrimp risotto. Awful, grainy coconut sorbet that seemed like it had been thawed and frozen repeatedly. Plus, when we left massive parts of our meal on our plates no one bothered to ask why or whether everything was okay.
The Tree at the Beach Tree is new. I wish the kitchen was, too.
Service was rushed. Food was sub par compared to my previous visits. I did come towards the end of dinner service so I understand that the service wouldn’t be as thorough as usual. I have Celiac and felt taken care of, but that the server was annoyed with my requests to make sure my food was safe for me to consume. Unfortunately I have to be very sure that my food is handled safely. The quality of the products is very obvious but compared to previous experiences I was disappointed. I ordered the Caesar, wasn’t offered any fresh pepper. Also tried the hamachi crudo, flavor was very lacking and needed citrus. Entree was the fresh catch and it was very blandly grilled served on top of a mediocre salad with a small spread of aioli to add some flavor. My non-GF partner had a pasta dish and it was enjoyed-tortelli with oxtail. Dessert Bon Bons were impressive as always-melt in your mouth and delicious with a great presentation.
Pricey (but it is Hawai’i) but the food was excellent, the service was top notch and the view was spectacular.
Amazing view of the ocean. Service was excellent, as expected from The Four Seasons!
I though the $40 corkage fee was absolutely outrageous!!! Has to be highest in the country!!
Nikki is an excellent server and she took great care of our table the other night. She was attentive to my 5-year old daughter, which was very much appreciated. We all had a wonderful evening... the food, the ambiance, the experience -- all of it was perfect.
The setting & view couldn't be better, especially for sunset. The greeting was warm & welcoming. Interesting that the hostess asked if we had any food allergies. More restaurants ought to be doing that. The service was friendly and the food, prepared beautifully, came quickly. Yes, it is pricey, but there's no denying Beach Tree is an outstanding dining experience.
Great food wonderful service
We were overall disappointed with our dinner. First of all we requested a table with a good view of the sunset and we were seated at the back of the empty restaurant. After we asked, we were moved closer to the front. One of the highlights afterward was the service. Our server was exceptional. She was knowledgeable, very friendly and her timing was always perfect.
On to the food, the menu was uninspired. Nothing stood out and the food we got was the same. I have to say we’ve been coming to the Beach Tree for almost 10 years, when it was under executive chef James Babian and head chef Nick. The food was always absolutely delicious. It all went downhill after they left a few years ago and despite going back a few times it seems to only be worse.
The food itself wasn’t horrible, but I could have done a better risotto myself and the shrimp were over cooked and bland. They husband fish was good, but nothing creative about it. For the price we expect a lot more, especially when we know how the food used to be. The best food items was the almond pesto that came with the bread. We used to always leave there happily full and looking forward to our next time back. This time we left thinking that we probably will not be coming back, which is too bad since the view, live music and overall setting is so nice.
We loved coming back here. Really enjoyed the music duo. Relaxing atmosphere. Excellent accommodating service by Izzy (Isaiah). We liked the WOW tomatoes the old way, in big pieces, not the finely chopped bruschetta. If you're going to have premium quality tomatoes, don't chop them up. Fritto Misto was excellent, like in Italy: lightly battered tempura-like shrimp and calamari , lemon and fennel (more fennel please! and not the stalk!). Hamachi app good, too.
