The food was delicious, an American take on German food. Our waiter was friendly, but there were issues. Glasses not refilled and charged for an undrinkable glass of wine. Not sure if we would give it another try or not.
Great value and good German fare. the waitress Cat was excellent and attentive the sausage was good in house .
First time at the biergarten . It was a good jalapeno cheddar brat and good local IPA' s on draft !
Nice layout, not too crammed in and lots of things to look at. The menu was a tad limited but the food was very good & the beers were great.
Parking is for Smart cars, spots really narrow and limited.
Wings were really good but the burgers and Reuben sandwich we ordered were just mediocre. Service was poor! Our food took a very long time to arrive( over an hour!) and did not arrive as ordered. The restaurant was not very busy so not sure why there was such a delay. Our server was friendly but very slow.
Great for beer lovers-unique options with taps @ tables & beer wall where you help yourself with a beer card—way too loud when DJ started—caused us to leave
I liked the beers, but the pretzel wasn't fully cooked, didn't have any actual taste of its own (ie was reliant on the salt\cheese\mustard to give it flavor), and also seemed like the dough had been over worked and\or under proved... Also I don't know what was sweet on the tots, but it completely ruined the tots for me. When I'm back in Charleston next, I don't know that I would make a special trip here, because the food I had just didn't satisfy, unfortunately 😕
Very causal dinner. Enjoyed “Restaurant Week” menu. Food was delicious. Great service.
We arrived with a party of 6 and the noise level was unbelievable. We asked for the speakers above our seats to be turned down three times. Unfortunately the wrap I ordered was inedible because the lettuce used was slimy, yellow and brown. I was able to get a replacement chicken sandwich in a short amount of time. But waiting for the server to come check on us took an awful long time. We probably waited 20 minutes for someone to check on us for us to even be able to ask for the check. I’ve been here many times and this was by far the worst experience.
Great dinner! My son ate his whole chicken sandwich and my husband and I enjoyed the Restaurant Week menu. Our server was great!
Thought it would be more of a , well, real Biergarten. Its just a big sports bar, only thing authentic is how they spell "bier". Only a couple those, on the bier list were German. One item on the menu, Jeager schnitzel, was from my experience, not even close to authentic. . As a sports bar with many huge screens, I suppose it's fine, but not what I was looking for.
They were very accommodating and had a high chair ready for my son! Great atmosphere and energy!
This is the third time in a row that I have ordered a glass of Pinot Grigio and been told they were out. I choose another wine and they say they are out of that also. I understand their main focus is beer but having a basic wine selection doesn’t seem that difficult. Also, it took almost an hour to get a glass of wine for me and a sweet tea refill for my daughter.
Excellent all around, but I knocked off one point because the menu has only a few genuine German dishes.
Service was not good-wasn’t crowded but waitress kept messing up our food and drink orders
Walked in to a cool bar/dining area with awesome TVs, great atmosphere and cozy booth to eat at. The pimento cheese bites were amazing. The southern burger cooked to perfection and bursting with juicy goodness.
Sat with a group on the outdoor bar. Live music was way too loud. Food and Service was fine. Beer was good.
Great chicken sandwich!!
The food and beer selection here is so good! The monk mustard is so good but spicy, the pimento cheese balls were also great.
Was there for the A&M vs. Clemson game. Great food and atmosphere
31st Anniversary Brunxh, so good!!
This place was a hot mess. Disney singalong brunch was a great idea in theory, but sadly we never even got to experience it! We had a reservation, which seemed to really annoy the already intolerable rude hostesses, who then placed us outside in the sun even though we had requested indoors. The brunch menu ran out, per the hostess who then didn’t even bother to bring us regulars menus. After 20 minutes of no waiter/waitress and no return of the hostess, we got up and left.
I would really like to say maybe for recommending to a friend. We went for their Disney event which was advertised as 11-3 with a band and brunch. We arrived a little after 2 and the band was on break and then packed up. We also could not order off the brunch menu. Spoke to a manager and she was friendly and apologetic. She explained that they had more interest than they bargained for. She gave us a gift certificate to give them another try.
Went specifically for the jagerschnitzel and it was kind of disappointing. It was tasty, but I have had much better at other places. Not worth the price. Recommend revisiting that meal.
I know that the Biergarten is more of a young bar vibe, but we loved that we could bring our kids. They had kids menus, corn hole, and yummy food our kids could eat. As a parent that really makes the Biergarten one we will refer to everyone! Thanks for the great experience!
The service was outstanding and we would definitely come back again. Thank you Bay Street Biergarten for a great experience!
Everything was fantastic
On a busy rainy night it got crowded fast, we also had a reservation. Open table sharing style seating with large booths. These semi-circle half booths are exceptionally comfortable and I enjoyed just sitting there. Enjoyed the blackberry mule special, had three! I also enjoyed the kielbasa meat, served hotdog style. Looks like a nice place for larger parties.
Our server just disappeared. It took 40 minutes to get salads and when she appeared again she acted as nothing was wrong. The entire situation was topped off with a hot restaurant - felt like the air was broken or off. Do not recommend for a family dinner.
Service was a little lacking. For starters we ordered wings and she didn’t remember what dressing we ordered when she set it down. My brother has celiac and asked for a burger on a GF bun, they brought it out on a regular bun, they had to remake it, and then instead of apologizing she made it seem like he was the one who forgot to ask- definitely not the case. Beers took a long time to get. They also do t give you a check at the end. They tell you what you owe so you can’t even look at your bill. Its a bit tacky. You have to tip and all with her standing there. I selected a printed receipt but never got it. The food is good, prices are high, not sure the service is worth the 20% tip.
Great meal. Terrific pretzels. Quick and easy. Fortunate to have seen it and stopped.
Our waiter was very attentive and gave us some great beer recommendations. Lunch food was good too, especially the fried green tomatoes. We ate outside during off hours, (3:00 pm) so it was very quiet, but I can see this place rocking on weekend evenings.
Our server Kim was exceptional. She made the experience one that I would want to repeat over and over. She’s the best server I have had in a long time. The food was great. Loved the sweet tea and the cheese spatzle.
We received horrible service. We were there to watch the World Cup and had to ask several times to get it on one of the TV’s and missed kickoff. The music was way too loud.
Definitely glad we finally tried this place! The food was delicious. We especially loved the schnitzel, the sausages, and the tater tot appetizer. We will definitely be back.
I like coming out here for lunch or dinner :) the burgers are good :)
We made 8:30 reservations for outdoor seating. When we showed up, thr hostess was a little shocked after losing track of time. The hostess did not save us a table so we were seated at a large picnic table on a separate patio. But, we were outside on a nice evening. We were given a complementary appetizer from our server who was great!
Good food, great service, and super ambiance. Not only all of those, but their own parking lot -- never a given in downtown Charleston.
Definitely five stars!
Slow service but it was a busy night. Food was good but menu was limited
It's a beer joint. Liked the taps on some tables. Rated low on service bc although we made a reservation in the Seinfeld classic way " they did not HOLD" the reservation" and even after waiting at the bar and having an appetizer there front desk person had to be reminded twice that we were still waiting for a table. Food was good. Beware wings are hot! Atmosphere was very nice..... beersy.
