About
Our visit was disappointing. We made reservations and were seated right away which was great because there was a 45 minute wait. We visited this restaurant before attending an event at the Roger's Centre. The staff seemed to be aware of the event however the restaurant was extremely understaffed (we had to go to the bar to pay because a waiter never returned to our table after dropping off the bill). The staff seemed frustrated, disorganized and not at all excited about their work.
We had the steak - the meat itself was ok (but certainly not what you would expect for the price) however the sides were what you would expect from an all-night buffet. The salad was dry (we had to wait for close to 10 minutes to get extra dressing) and had no flavour. The potatoes were almost inedible.
We have wanted to try Baton Rouge for a while but unfortunately will not be returning.
Good restaurant with good wine and food at a reasonable price.
Not impressed. The restaurant looks old and tired. Service was fine but not exceptional. Ordered a main from the menu and was told 15 minutes later they had run out of the key ingredient for that main and had to order something else. Pretty boring menu with not much choice - example, you could get a 38 $ seafood main that included scallops, lobster etc but could not order a scallop main. I would not return and would not recommend.
Service was good! Food was just fair!
Always good and consistent. The waiter didn't really respond to us. Overall good meal.
Thank you so much .My boyfriend and I had a great time and loved the food . Service was amazing as well . I highly recommend this location
Service was slow and food was ok. If you want ribs I recommend this place but other then that I don't suggest going here
We visited this Baton Rouge location on New Year's eve. Our table did not have cutlery or salt/pepper and we had to ask for these items. Our server was very nice; however, the service was very slow as he was 1 of 3 servers in our very busy area. The food also took a long time to arrive and was cold upon arrival. We will not be returning to Baton Rouge.
Service was lacking especially considering the place was 75% empty. Food was ok however my wife's steak was undercooked and had to be sent back to finish being cooked. Considering that I was done my meal when my wife finally got her cooked meal I think some goodwill gesture (free desert) should have been done like other decent restaurants of that price range do. I am in no hurry to go back.
Une heure avant le service entre chaque plat, le service du vins n'a jamais été fait
We just went for ribs - no fuss - they were ok ...
My wife and I decided to enjoy our anniversary at Baton Rouge because of the food. We have eaten at various other locations and found them all to be a wonderful value. Staff is friendly and the back of the house expertly prepares each and every dish.
I have been to this location numerous times as a rendez-vous for business meals. Great food and great service. Always a pleasure to dine here.
Apart from them cancelling my booking and me arriving 4 mins after my reserved time, the service was good and food tasty as well. I think the size of the lunch steak is a little meager for $17 tho
We had a great time for our team dinner. Service was excellent and food was delicious! Thank you Baton Rouge at Front Street!
Celebrating a retirement the Service was Fantastic. Thank you
Ok for lunch with with quick service and only one issue was the prime rib sandwich was barely warm. My wife's clubhouse was very good. The red velvet cake was also very good.
Our waiter seemed busy and stressed and very curt - not at all friendly. He also didn't know what kind of whiskeys the bar had when asked. Overall not great service. I used to eat here a lot and the food (I always have the ribs) was good but not great. Not sure if I will return.
I was not aware that this restaurant was on a second floor. Both in my party require an elevator or ground floor for dining and washroom. There is an elevator in the attached office building, but it was uncomfortable asking for assistance from a security guard.
The food on the other hand was excellent and the service was great.
Ambience and décor were inviting creating a pleasant atmosphere. Food arrived without a long wait. My wife had the Santa Fe chicken salad and said it was good. I had the ribs which were tasty. The menu allows several options for sides. Service was good.
Very disappointing meal.
I paid $32 for a 14oz Prime Rib Med- rare. The rib was cut too thinly and was no more than 10oz at best plus a huge chuck of Fat. It was 2/3rds meal and 1/3rd fat and was also cooked Med-Well.
Terrible value for money and not what I ordered. That made paying $6 for mushrooms and $18 for a glass of wine just too much to stomach. You need to get the fundamentals right to charge those prices. We will not be back.
The service was extremely slow despite the fact that it was not very busy. By the time we got our food it was cold.
Great dinner and the service was excellent! Thanks for a great evening!
Fries were cold, waitress replaced them. Sat at bar because no appropriate seating available. Nice bar but bartenders leave their jackets and junk (phones, keys) on shelf next to bottles of liquor. Very messy looking, Not an attractive site. The pregnant bartender was the worst for this. Employees junk should be stored underneath the bar out of site.
merci...
The menus were old and worn. Kids crying and whining. Didn't feel like an adult dining place. Plus the food looked alike Kegs menu. Would not go there again.
We left after a drink and went to AZURE
If I could give the service more than just 5 stars I would! My family and I flew to Toronto from Ottawa September 11th to see a Blue Jays game for my fathers 50th birthday. We had his birthday dinner at Baton Rouge after the game. We did not anticipate Baton Rouge to have an "event menu" due to the Jays game - and were a little disappointed that one of the menu options we had been excited to order was not listed on the event menu. However, our waitress went above and beyond and she was able to get the approval and the kitchen to cook this dish for us (Lobster Risotto). I believe our waitresses name was Joana? Anyways, she was absolutely wonderful, she went above and beyond and made our experience beyond enjoyable! Would recommend to anyone! Once again, very thankful to our waitress that night!!!
Just wanted a quick bite before the baseball game. Food & service are usually good here, but this visit was disappointing -- service was very slow and we ended up missing 1-1/2 innings of the game.
All was great. However forgot to ask about my Fan Expo Discount, and waitress did not mention it. And we had fan expo bags with us.
me and my girlfriend where very unhappy with the whole meal. the calamari could have been fried more it was kinda under done. her main course the steak was very rare after asking for medium rare and the fries tasted like cardboard on my main the mashed potatoes had way to much garlic it was the only taste. then there was the crembrule which was more like pudding since it didn't get any sugar caramelzation on top. based on that experience i wouldn't come back again. i will say the servers where very good
The food tasted good, but you need to work on your team approach. We had three servers (Josh, Jay and sorry I can't remember) ask us what we wanted to drink separately. They each told us they are part of a team and then asked us. Apparently you place a napkin on the table to indicate an order has been taken, but the second server took the ones the first sever provided. The drinks did eventually find our table, but we had to ask for water. I don't know why restaurants don't always bring water, especially when you have three people to serve an area. I don't know if those servers needed to help in other areas, but there were only a few tables occupied in the area we were sitting in.
Again, we liked the food, but we can find steak and lobster of equal quality elsewhere.
Our waiter was amazing as he dealt with our daughter's allergy. We were thrilled with our service and food. A great way to end a day touring the Aquarium and CN tower.
Un restaurant qui est assez rapide pour servir un verre de vin...et oublie de vous apporter de l'eau ! Une salade qui baigne dans sa vinaigrette est à proscrire !
When we arrived there the stairs to the restaurant are torn and I almost tripped coming up the stairs.
Then I went to the ladies washroom and I was appalled. The sanitary garbage pails were overflowing with tampons and pads. Every stall had toilets full and not flushes and the counters were wet and a mess. I went to get a manager and told her the issue. We were entertaining guests from Vancouver and I was not impressed and would not return to this location.
The waitress was very new but friendly enough and the food was average.
Very disappointed as the Easton centre restaurant is not like this at all.
I don't write reviews or rate restaurants but feel I must in this case. The food was disgusting and overpriced.
We rarely get to a Baton Rouge and we were disappointed with our visit this time. I made reservations a month in advance. I had to ask twice for a glass of water. Our food took 40 minutes to get to our table and it was not hot. The waiter kept apologizing to everyone around us. We were really looking forward to a nice dinner but sadly it was a disappointment.
Cob webs above our dining table dust all over the seats and between booths upper level one bathroom no toilet paper
It was before the GNR concert so you were packed. I don't think you had enough staff on, which is surprising since you were the closest and most convenient restaurant to the venue. Our poor server was run off his feet and I felt for him as he had to chase several groups back to the front desk when they tried to sneak in. (Why were they not stopped at the front desk?) Food was good. Service was a little bit slower than usual but totally expected with what was going on and had no reflection on our waiter who was working as quickly as possible.
Usually don't write a review, but my experience here was surprisingly poor. I had been to a Baton Rouge years ago and thoroughly enjoyed it, so I was excited to try the one on Front St. They ran out of everything (spinach dip appetizer, prime rib main course, even lemon for water), the waiter was slow and unenthusiastic, and the quality of the food was very mediocre given the price (burger buns were cold, ribs were dry). I used to think of Baton Rouge as being on par with The Keg, but given this experience, I wouldn't go to a Baton Rouge again.
I personally liked the food and thought it was worth the cost. Service could have been a little more prompt.
