Great place Went for buck a shuck. Was decent. Service was great!
Had a great experience. Enjoyed the food and would definitely go back.
Chosen over other bar for beer and chat. No background music but large hard walled space was very loud even for normal conversation. Shame because everything else was great
It was a little loud for dinnertime but otherwise, the environment was wonderful. FOOD WAS OUTSTANDING!
We made a reservation and walked there all excited. They wouldn’t serve us anything but brunch even though we were under 30 minutes away from dinner service. We had a train to catch or we would have come later. They could have cared less that we were there, and seemed happy for us to leave. I wish I could have tried the food, but never got the chance.
Food was great, beer was great, was just a bit loud, but we had attentive servers and was a great evening
Their brunch menu is delicious and the space has a great vibe. There was a soccer game on when we were there and it was INCREDIBLY loud-both the volume of the TV and the patrons. We almost left as we needed to have some business-related conversation but stuck it out.
30 minutes before our reservation for Brunch on a Sunday for our party of six, I received a phone call from the restaurant informing me that due a “viewing” party, our reservation would not be honored and seating would be on a first come, first serve basis.
We arrived to find out that the “viewing” party to accommodate a group of supporters for an English football club watching the match that day. The sound for the match was turned up to "11". We hadn’t ordered food, so we left.
My wife and I enjoyed our visit overall. The menu has few items (which I prefer over 10 pages of a variation on a theme) typical pub food but with just the right amount of sofistication. We gave the quality of the food a 4 star. We didn’t like the fries. Burger was very decent and tasty but not spectacular. Fish and chips ( except for the chips) was also very good. Beer was excellent. Ambiance and decor very pleasant, cosy and unintimidating. Friendly and timely service on a Friday night. We would have gladly stayed longer and have more beer but this is not a romantic place, it a very noisy pub (music and conversation). We noticed that at least two more couples that came around the same time as us just ate and left. Maybe that’s the goal of having the kind and level of music. Or it’s just a pub disguised as a hipster bistro. I would come back with a bunch of friends but would not chose this place for a romantic outing.
Great venue. Food was outstanding, $5 rotating taps on weeknights is a steal.
Great service, awesome food and beers!
We’ve been here over 10 times now and it’s been great. Always excellent service and really nice cocktails.
Amazing food and service!
The service was very good and the ambiance was very nice. The food was tasty but was cold. It also arrived very quickly which leaves the impression it was cooked in advance.
We loved Batch. Being from the Creemore/Dunedin area of Ontario, we were delighted to know that they are affiliated with Creemore Springs. Also, we are diehard fans of the show Suits, which films in Toronto. They shot several scenes here, in the cafe area. Modern, industrial vibe, excellent ambience! Order the burger, you won't be disappointed. Staff was just right. Loved the lighting and decor. Go now!
Reliably good food and service. We've been here a few times and it never disappoints.
Family outing - play and dinner
Service was slow. Ordered the burger not knowing it came rare (which i never eat) so it kinda turned me off. Usually servers ask if its okay or its indicated in the menu... otherwise fries were great! Deep fried pickles were great to! The restaurant vibe is cool but way too loud to even talk
Meh - beer was good, food was fair (fish & chips) though the server was attentive and pleasant.
$1 oysters are great and fries are great. The cobb salad was definitely underwhelming though. Great atmosphere and beers on tap (although sold out of 50% of the beer menu). Overall a great place to hang with lots of big tables for groups.
We made reservations for 8:15AM only to find out that the restaurant doesn’t open until 11AM!! How is it possible that Open Table allows you to book a table for a time that’s outside their business hours is beyond me. We had to walk 15 minutes under rain and heavy wind to find this out ourselves. Terrible experience.
The food was good however when we ordered the cheese plate they forgot the cheese. The staff was very apologetic and brought the cheese out. The drinks on St Pattys were great, and made to perfection. The main course was very good and a very large portion.
Very solid. Good value for the money!
Good menu and nice ambiance...
I would recommend Batch but it is extremely loud. Would suggest you make reservations.
Food was delicious however service was extremely slow at 11:30am on a Sunday
Dinner with my. Cousins from out of state
Decent burger and nice salad, but half our order was overcooked (some wanted medium rare they were all well done) and they forgot out fries. Also the food all came out at different times.
Fried pickles were bland, but our mains were great...chicken sandwich and fish & chips! Yum!
Service was terrible and this was not the first time. Servers forget about you and have no sense of urgency.
Great experience and good food.
Nice low key place. Would definitely come back again
Beer is always delish, food was pretty good. Grilled cheese was a hit! Service was okay.... wasn’t very attentive but they were quite busy. Had to ask for refills of water numerous times (I think it’s silly how small their water glasses are). Overall really great and we will definitely be back.
My guest and I were happy at the overall experience, Friday after work crowd, nothing too notable.
Beers were excellent! Great ambiance and service. However, my date ordered the Pork Belly and it was terrible, chewy, bland, disconnected.
I'd go again for just drinks.
My waiter was amazing. The host not so much. He refused our request for a table that wasn't jammed in the pathway behind a column with no light. Friend pickles are a must have.
Food is excellent! Came back here twice for the Winterlicious menu. Service is friendly. Two things could be better: wished the food came out a bit faster, it was quite long for our entrees to come out. Also wished they would replace our cutlery between courses, as I found it kind of gross for the server to put our used fork and knife onto the table and then sauce is everywhere. Other than that, I would definitely return to try more of their food and beer.
It was great!
We have been to Batch a few times now and always find the service lacking. We were there for their Super Bowl Viewing and although the food was great (everything except the fries we really enjoyed!) we didn't receive our order for forever! We were served after the table beside us had been served their food (they had ordered the same special as us and they had arrived at least 15 minutes after we had arrived, and ordered well after us so it was just a case of serving food to the wrong table), we also didn't get one item we ordered and had to ask for it, and we weren't checked on much during our time there. It wasn't that busy even though it was the Super Bowl so I'm not sure why the service was lacking, but it seems to be a theme at this place. It's conveniently located and good for a group, but if service makes or breaks your experience, this is not the place for you.
Excellent food. Dessert of Batch Mess was a wonderful surprise.
