Came here with a group of 6. We ordered 2 croque madames, 2 smoked salmon, brisket hash and pancakes. Over an hour and we still did not receive our meals and I asked servers for an update. There was a mixup with our order when 4 of our 6 meals arrived. The AGM came to us to tell us what happened and chatted with their kitchen. This was unacceptable on a Sunday where they only had 3-5 parties. Not busy at all. I also ended up finding a plastic piece in my smoked salmon pretzel sandwich. Thankfully the AGM provided us two free desserts, took two of the 6 meals off the bill and 25% off because of the troubles. This was a great gesture on his part. I will certainly come back again but kitchen needs to be much more on their game.
Food was decent and prices were good. Service was terrible. Server spent the whole night standing at the bar staring at tables without actually checking them. Never got offered refills on drinks or checked to make sure the orders were right.
I was pleasantly surprised by my experience at Batch. I had visited the creemore springs brewery the week prior and had heard about batch as being their downtown gastropub. The food was great, with a decent selection as reasonable prices, as such with the drinks. I absolutely loved the venue! It's has a charming appeal and not something you would expect to find downtown Toronto. Service was impeccable as well. I regret not getting our servers name to recognize her!
Great food! Great beer!
Everyone enjoyed the experience!
First time there for brunch, and was impressed. Good selection on the menu to meet many tastes. Manager recognized us from previous visits and offered a free flight tasting of their beers, which was well received.
Good gastropub food, great attentive service, even better beer!
Even though I made a reservation, the staff kept trying to make us wait in line to get into the restaurant. The ambience was great but service, food, and beer were mediocre and overall overpriced.
Service was lacking a little.
Took 12 minutes for someone to come only after I had to get up ask the greeter if a waiter/waitress could take our orders.
Was suprised by that.
Not what it used to be..
The food and ambience was wonderful at Batch, but we were extremely slow to get seated. We made a reservation for 7:45 and arrived a bit early. We ended up waiting until almost 8:15 for a table. We were the only group waiting, despite being the only ones with reservations. Tables were cleared and others were seated. It was a bit frustrating knowing that we were waiting for a table and watching the busboy clear the tables at a snails pace.
The service was great when we were seated and so was the food. However, I'd be hardpressed to go back knowing that it took so long to get a table with an actual reservation.
Found a hair in my foid
Burger special was good.
Ambience was good and our waitress pleasant enough, but the service was painfully slow and what made it worse was the fact that the restaurant was half empty. It was just little things like never filling up our water and only delivering 2/3 mains. Had a the Winbier, which was excellent, along with their lamb burger. Again, it was good, although could have done with less goats cheese. Definitely a step up from Firkins or 3 Brewers, but I’m not rushing back.
Beer is good, wine is EXPENSIVE ($18 for a glass of red), food is not good.
We met friends for a late lunch on a Thursday. It was relatively busy but not too loud. The server was excellent - friendly and efficient. We ordered the fish and chips and all three of us thought it might have been the best we ever had. Highly recommended.
Great service, attentive. Local beer options, Canadian wine list, spacious interior, nice decor. Clean and polished lively spot. Disappointed in one entree but the fries were great.
Visited on Valentine's Day and left feeling underwhelmed.
Great service from the front of house; hostess and waiter were wonderful.
Chowder was good.
Restaurant was clean.
The main (fish and chips) took an extended period of time to arrive.
The main was part bland and part overwhelmingly salty.
The desert, apple crumble, was disappointing. It tasted undercooked and had very a notable lack of 'crumble'.
The vibe of the restaurant was mixed. Many TVs were playing an NHL game, which didn't seem to match the music (which was very loud), and the rest of the styles present in the restaurant.
Overall I was disappointed in most of the food and felt that I did not receive great value for my money. The evening was salvaged from being an awful experience by the friendly staff and solid beer.
Good service and food. Great value. The kale salad with goat cheese was surprisingly good.
My friend and I were here in January 2018 for Winterlicious. The menu price for dinner was $33 and it was excellent for the price we paid. I had the salad, pork chop and sticky toffee pudding. All were good, but the pudding was to die for. Glad they have it on the menu year round. The beer is fantastic as well. I had it before when we visited the Creemore brewery this past summer. The service was excellent and the assistant general manager came around to make sure we had a pleasant experience - not something I have seen in a long time. Hope this restaurant will be offered on the Summerlicious options as I would love to take my husband here.
Good place for different events...birthday, business, social etc. Good food and service
Our server Jesse was great and my wife and I liked the atmosphere.
Steak pie biscuit was hard and dry.
My date commented on the burger being the smallest she’d been served in a while.
They served her fries when she ordered a salad but fixed that quickly. Great experience but both meals were a bit of a miss.
First time at this restaurant during winterlicious. Love the layout of the restaurant and the open concept with a contemporary, modern feel about it. Had the soup with Mussels, which was a thicker based soup, counted four mussels in total in the soup. Next I had the mushroom risotto which was very hearty and delicious. Dessert was a chocolate mousse served in a little mason jar which was also very good.
Overall cute spot in the financial district with lots of good food options, I'd recommend.
There was nothing exceptionally good or bad. I was really excited about sticky toffee pudding but was disappointed that it was mediocre.
Food was delicious, service was great, ASG was enthusiastic
The food was delicious and reasonably priced. The beer was good and so the service was friendly and efficient. The restaurant is very popular and was packed. My issue was the noise level. It isn't relaxing when you have to push your voice. The sound does not get absorbed. As my friend and I discussed apparently when the noise level is high people drink more to cope with the stress. This is a place to go for beer so perhaps for business it is good for them, but I prefer to relax when I get together with friends.
We were a group of 10. Food was ok. Portion was fine. Beer was good. Service was slow (very slow). Waitress was on the phone while we were waiting to order desserts and then again nowhere to be seen to get the bills.
The apple pie was really bad, crust Had no taste, apple was not sweetened... really bad way to end a dinner. Will not go back.
Good beer and vegetarian options. Very cozy and quiet, which is pretty rare these days.
Food was good, service as expected for a busy place... Yet the noise levels where quite high. We could not really talk to each other. Left early for that reason.
Delicious food, nice local beer, comfortable seats, great atmosphere for brunch with friends or a quiet date night
My sons 20th birthday- his choice. My kids: 20,23,26 loved it- pub food, great beers, good prices. My husband and I enjoyed the ambiance, being with our family- great service, but food was just okay. Prime rib dinner ( special) was ordered medium rare- arrived well done, (grey) and tepid. Veggies were sparse, no jus.
Fried pickles and charcuterie board best offerings.
Very enjoyable lunch. Great decor, delicious food and great service. Will definitely try it again!
NYE was a disappointment. Expensive, mediocre food.
Really enjoyed the NYE pre fix menu tonight. Had a lot of variety but please our foodies as well as those with conservative palates at the table. Would go again! Also enjoyed a few rounds of ping pong in the basement after dinner. :)
Friendly service and great food.
Cozy vibe and cool atmosphere. Simple, delicious menu and good drinks.
Very decent menu and food. Salads were delicious and good portions. Would like if soup(s) could be on the menu. Beer selection OK, but short on dark brews. It was a bit crowded, but it was a holiday. Noise level is pretty high.
Good service, great beer... Third place is fun even if the music selection is rubbish.
Lamb burger was perfectly cooked, very tasty and great potato wedges!
We had to wait nearly 30 minutes for our table to be ready even though our party of 4 had a reservation. Disappointing because we have been rushed out another time when our team was having dinner.
Terrible service. Food took too long, drinks took too long, burgers were dry.
Nice ambiance and I could have excused these mishaps if they at least were attentive and apologized.
