Bar restaurant just two blocks from orchestra hall. Numerous small plate choices of upscale Mexican food. The chips and salsa comes with an array of three different salsas if varying spiciness. Chicken mole was good but not exceptional. Pork fish and chicken tacos were all good value but messy to eat by hand.
Great service ans knowledgable waitstaff. The various flavors of the different dishes were amazing!
Dinner before concert at The Dakota. Worked out great. Service from Cody was excellent.
Always great for a quick lunch!
Food was amazing!! Small dishes which was nice. Amazing blackberry mojitos!!
This was a early lunch on Saturday. I have heard it is more active at night. The food was very good. The staff friendly. The decor fun.
Love this place. Great staff and fantastic food and drinks make it a complete win.
The Resto/ bar n Edina— food much better. Downtown food was really bad. Nice bar ambiance
Good food. Good drinks. Amazing Guacamole!!
Great tacos, and the guacamole was fabulous. Great atmosphere. Service was ok.
New Years Eve dinner.
Service was very slow which lead to our food being cold. It appeared as though there was only one waitress. Our food/drink bill was $150 for two people (2 alcoholic drinks each)...definitely not worth the money.
As long as you don't want to carry on a conversation, you'll be fine.
Amazing as always
Food isn’t as good as Edina location- carnitas tacos was dry and Luke warm- chip bowl is too small for large guacamole bowl- need more flavor on carnitas a shrimp tacos
Very good dinner. Great selection of small and large plates. Wait staff was extremely attentive.
The food was great, service was great, great atmosphere!
Good is always delicious. We had the findido to start and also the salsas. All very good. We each ordered tacos - shrimp was delicious as eel as pork belly. Potato sopes was just ok. Margarita very tasty and worth the upgrade to the top shelf tequila.
Excellent in all aspects. Great food and drinks. Wait staff exceptional. Highly recommend.
My favorite lunch spot downtown! LOVE the tacos and the guacamole! Barrio never disappoints. :)
We loved everything about this place, from the food to the drinks to the atmosphere.
A great evening our! Extensive tequila list. Food was fresh, tasty and well priced. We liked that menu items were small enough that we could order and try various items.
Good food, comes out as it’s ready so you don’t eat at the same time. Very loud so if you want to “dine” it’s not for you. Smaller menu nice decor very nice staff
Barrio is very close to Orchestra Hall, which is exactly why we stopped in. I do recommend making a reservation, as it was very busy (we came on a Saturday)! We were saw immediately, and greeted immediately as well. While the space is small, it has been utilized well, with plenty of seating. Speaking of food, the guacamole was some of the best I've had at a restaurant. They also make fresh salsas, of four varieties, which were all great. I thoroughly enjoyed the potato sopes, and was pleased to find local goat cheese being used! I love the tapas style here, as you get to sample multiple items on the menu. Tacos are reasonably priced, considering the ingredients being used. While I did not try a drink, there is an extensive drink menu, offering many selections of tequila. I loved watching the bartenders climb the ladder to retrieve bottles high on the wall of spirits. Overall, a very nice place for a date night, or a quick drink before a show.
Seated promptly. Service was just enough that you didn’t feel pressured but were never waiting. Food and drinks were great and it’s a very cool atmosphere.
Great food and interesting cocktails. A wide variety as well. The queso fundito was incredible. They describe it has "tapas style" but the tapas are large and hard to split.
Great spot for our girls’ night out before our show at Pantages!
Barrio came highly recommended and it did not disappoint!
I came with four other people for a Sunday evening meal. We ate a variety of small plates: mushroom empanadas, the steak skewers, guacamole, grilled tequila shrimp, the sweet plantains. The only food that wasn’t exceptional was the chicken small plate that came with refried black beans - it was just kind of bland. Service was fine but not particularly special. Seating was awkward (two small tables wedged against a banquette so one person was sitting on the banquette and the other four were around the table). Overall the food was so good, however, that we kind of forgot about the awkward seating.
The food was good. Loved the chicken quesedillas however the place is little cramped and we were celebrating friend's birthday so we got a cake for her and were charged almost $3 per head to cut and eat our own cake. So we ended up paying more money to the restaurant than what the cake was worth for. A total ripoff I'd say.
It’s been a while since I’ve been here and it seems to have gone downhill. The guacamole was ok but not very flavorful. The corn chowder was basically corn and cream. The pork belly taco was ok but not much to write home about.
Barrios makes the best margaritas they are delicious not too sweet too sour not too strong just perfect!
Our waitress told us we could have any of the tacos in a crispy shell and that made all the difference they were delicious. We enjoyed the gringo taco the tempura crab taco and the Carnitas tacos.
So happy with our choice to dine here! We're come to Minneapolis at least once a year and had seen Barrio the last couple years bit hadn't yet tried it. It will now be a regular staple on our trips.
Barrio is a great atmosphere! Went here on a Sunday afternoon and the tacos were great! The service was a little slow despite the almost empty restaurant so that was a little frustrating, but on a lazy Sunday, I couldn't complain.
The tacos were good. We tried 6 different kinds of taco. It was nice that you ordered them per taco so you could mix it up. There were a couple we didn't love, but only based on personal taste; the food was quality. The atmosphere not so much for a sit down date type of dinner though.
Food was good, service was a bit slow. Seemed like there were a number of parties finishing up when we arrived, so perhaps we just hit the end of a surge. Food was great, as always at Barrio.
Lunch on Thursday is too loud. Couldn't hear anything my dining partner said. Excellent appearance and preparation of relatively bland over priced items. I would liken it to having a big mac (taco) on fine china. Will not return.
Fun atmosphere. The food was delicious. The service was very good.
The whole dining experience was wonderful! Our server, Nicole was an absolute gem! The food and drinks were to die for! My husband and I were overall very impressed!
The carnitas meat in my taco was dry. The pork belly taco was good but hot. The corn chowder was really good. Ordered the Macho Camacho margarita and would not care about ordering again.
