It’s hard to describe the Barndiva experience. And a web site is no substitution for being able to sit back and enjoy the beauty of an extraordinary space, the taste of a perfect cocktail, or the satisfaction that comes from a meal that hits all the right notes in you.
Barndiva is a celebration of all things local. Our food is sourced from farmers, ranchers and small batch purveyors who live and work in the magnificent food shed surrounding us.
Food is our passion. In everything we do, it all starts there. Thanks for visiting.
The garden sitting is charming.
We loved the food (salmon for me, pasta for my friend) and the service. The food is carefully and artfully prepared! Fresh flowers, artistic garnishes, fresh and interesting flavors. Take a second look at the interesting art as well. Really neat! Sit out front, out back, or, like us, take an inside seat.
Overall this place always delivers! The food is excellent and the space just beautiful, especially the outdoor dining out back.
I’m so glad I finally tried Barndiva!
I am a total foodie, but I’m also vegan. I worry about fine dining that is focused around meats and cheeses, but Barndiva accommodated my requests and offered me two vegan options for lunch. It was so simple, delicious and flavorful! My friend ordered the duck plate and she was in total heaven. We shared a basket of fries (nothing very special but still tasted great!) and each got a dessert; she, the cheesecake and apple pie sorbet for myself. It was so yummy! I didn’t get a chance to explore the restaurant interior very much but I thought the ambiance was nice, if a little casual for lunch hour. Would recommend!
Beautiful display of food. We had the salmon and filet burger and they were both outstanding!
One of the most delicious dinners of our trip! They even surprised us with glasses of sparkling wine for our anniversary. Amazing!
It was simply deelish! Lovely service & comfortable seating plus scrumptious food and a gorgeous martini.
Delicious outdoor lunch! Able to do special request.
I brought three newcomers to the restaurant for a very special lunch. Everyone enjoyed their meals and commented how each dish looked and tasted wonderful. We were seated outside under beautiful trees-felt like we were in France! The waitstaff were attentive without being intrusive. One of my favorite restaurants...lots of happy memories there.
Delicious fresh tuna, yummy duck and pork. Great cocktails and service. Highly recommend!!
Anniversary. Food was fabulous. Waiter great. Had lovely conversation with the couple seated next to us. Did not want to leave! Sat outside and it was perfect.
Great brunch limited appetizers but both offerings pleasing to the eye and tastebuds.. cocktails well presented but a bit slow on arrival, our table ordered four different entrees, duck, beef, tuna and omelette. Some of our group enjoyed the extensive offerings of wine and cocktails Jordan Chardonnay was a highlight.
The food here is absolutely phenomenal. Better than anything you’ve ever tasted. I wish I could eat here for all of my meals but I think I would get spoiled and hate all other food.
Barn Diva was lovely! The setting is beautiful, comfortable, sophisticated yet accessible, and congenial. We dined in the garden behind the main building. The table setting was correct, comfortable, and well considered, with well-designed and beautuful plates, flatware, and stemware. The service was attentive, skilled, knowledgeable, and kind. The food was sustainably sourced, perfectly prepared, and beautifully presented. The weather on the evening that we dined there was also perfect. Coming from the Eastern Midwest, we were seeking California cuisine provided by a skilled culinary team in a beautiful northern California setting; BarnDiva exceeded all of our expectations. We hope to be blessed enough to return one day.
Great experience, awesome place!! Very stylish place with a intimate experience.
The nice stuff first: we came here on our honeymoon, and we got a warm welcome and a glass of champagne. They gave us a good table and the staff was warm and attentive - at least for the bulk of our time there.
I'm vegetarian and we'd called ahead to ask if there were good vegetarian options - I've noticed that a lot of restaurants don't put all their veg offerings on the menu, so wanted to check. I was told that they had plenty of options for me and I didn't need to worry about it.
We arrived and I was told the chef would do a special for me, something they optimistically called the Vegetable Surprise, depending on my likes and dislikes. What arrived was a plate of vegetables, very tastefully laid out. But, to stress it again, a plate of vegetables. That's it. With nothing else. And again, I am vegetarian, not vegan, and this was clarified.
Very disappointing for our honeymoon dinner - for any dinner, for that matter, for a place that positions itself as a culinary delight.
Other disappointments included them being out of at least 30% of the menu, my husband's fish entree being average at best, and the dessert taking 15 minutes to order because everyone had just vanished.
While the appetizer and dessert were nice, it was a disappointing meal and experience overall.
Delicious Modern American cuisine. Professional and friendly service. All in all, a lovely experience from start to finish.
My husband and I really enjoyed our dinner at Barndiva while visiting Healdsburg. We sat outside in the front. Great food, great ambiance and great service. Everyone was very friendly and personable. Worth the trip!
Well, it's not like it used to be. The food is still good but not memorable like it used to be, the change in chefs is obvious. The service was good but lacked the professional touch that used to be so outstanding. Bread was not re-offered after the initial service, wine glasses were not refilled after the initial pour, despite the $30 corkage fee, the entrees were served without comment about the entree's preparation, the food was just put in front of you, etc.; the professionalism which made Barndiva something special in the past, is lacking. It used to be worth a long drive for the experience and food, and we did that for a number of years, but not anymore, we won't return.
The filet hamburger has now set up all other hamburgers for failure. That was the best!!
Beautiful plating. The salmon was delicious! I also enjoyed the tuna appetizer.
FABULOUS !!!!! Enjoyed the decor, excellent food and exceptional service. Will be back when in the area.
We were celebrating my girlfriends birthday and I called ahead twice to let them know, so that they could bring her a Desert with a candle but they forgot. Food was terrific but steak was a bit under cooked.
Food was absolutely delicious, patio sublimely beautiful, waiter incredibly attentive
This is the Fourth time we have eaten at Barndiva and every time it is absolutely stellar. The only disappointment is that they did not comp our corkage for a local wine. We absolutely love love love this place. We have already booked to bring out of town guests their in July. SIMPLY FABULOUS!!
Our wine arrived about 20 minutes after we got our food.
Great food, great service, but $40 for corkage? Really? Way too high, maybe give the locals a break.
Barndiva was a huge disappointment. This was supposed to be a special dinner for my husband's birthday and I had spent a lot of time looking at various dining options. Upon arrival, we were seated immediately as we had reservations. We were initially seated us right by the door so we asked to move. The only other choice they gave us was next to the back door and the wait station or squeezed in next to another couple. They took our cocktail order and those came fairly quickly. We ordered appetizers and our meal and the sommelier offered advice while we had our cocktails. The appetizers arrived in a fairly timely manner. The appetizers were good but not out-of-this-world. Once we finished our cocktails and our wine was poured we waited for a VERY long time (I am estimating about 40 minutes) for the main course and the waiter ignored us the entire time until we finally became annoyed and caught his attention. The waiter said, "oh I know why you are trying to get my attention it will be just a second". We then waited another couple of minutes before the food came. Did I mention that the place was only about a third full? We were very disappointed with the main course. My husband ordered king salmon. The only thing on the plate was a small piece of salmon, a few fava beans and a couple of flowers. The salmon was nothing special. No delicious preparation or flavor - just pan seared salmon. My order was lobster carbonara. It was extremely bland - nothing special. Food and service were a huge disappointment. I had read reviews that warned of the so-so service. Do not ignore those reviews. They are true. Not a special place.
We would definitely go back here. The food was great, and the service was excellent. The cocktail menu was very good and was hard to make a choice from.
Excellent food snd service!
Delicious all the way around and wonderful atmosphere! Definitely sit on patio if you can. Delicious food and excellent service.
Great food, service and ambiance in the barn
Lovely time. Great food and ambiance.
Great food. Atmosphere somewhat spoiled by an adjacent bachelorette party (possibly 2). Acoustics in the restaurant can’t handle drunk shrill girls. Not really Barndivas fault I suppose.
We dine here annually to celebrate my parent's wedding anniversary. They treat us like family. They are experts at hospitality!
The service and the ambiance was great. The girls ordered cocktails that were outstanding. Although overpriced, the food was delicious with the exception of the lobster with pasta. It only had three tiny pieces of lobster in it and the pasta was totally bland. I had to ask for salt and pepper to flavor it. I shouldn't have to do that with a a $35 dish. But all in all, it was a wonderful experience.
great way to get out of the city and enjoy a little but of nature. The food was great but the service was a little too laid back. I will definitely go again.
Our group got to sit out in the garden, which was a lovely and unique setting that was great for lunch on a sunny day. The food was absolutely amazing - everyone in our group loved everything we tasted. Definitely would recommend a stop here!
Sat. Lunch in backyard with a nice rose, very good food. Interesting take on Cubano sandwich, huge serving easily enough to split for light lunch. Duck confit salad a nice lighter side lunch too. Would go back even though a bit pricey - lunch for 4 with bottle of rose & 2 ice teas $175 all in.
Fantastic as usual. Glad to see they have not dropped off in any regard since we last fined here two years ago. We let our server, Matt, order food and wine for us. Everything was spot on.
