Good place to catch up with a friend. Manti dumplings were delicious as was the hummus and flatbread
Barcha is always delish, satisfying and endlessly busy, but in a good way. I've never been disappointed and LOVE the food. Go if you haven't!
Delicious! It is a bit pricey but, in relation to the other restaurants in SF, a great steal!! I would say it's a must try.
Great creative food. A bit noisy however for an easy conversation. If it hadn’t been raining we probably would have eaten outside.
Excellent food in a nice atmosphere. The mezze menu was outstanding!
Front desk ladies were so rude!
I was here for a business lunch with an ex colleague. The service and food were great. Ill be back.
Good food, good ambience. Highly recommended. I love this place. I like mediterranean food.
This is my second time at Barcha and I was impressed again. It's absolutely delicious and I simply adore their special dumplings. I love the flavor of sumac which they thread into several dishes.
Our dessert was incredible, too. It was like a pudding with Chantilly cream and the perfect pastry texture. Delicious!
Such a beautiful evening with fun, delicious, high-end food. We had a vegetarian dinner and they easily accommodated this for 3 people.
Hummus is amazing, the rice is sooo good, as well as everything else!!
Great service. Shared 5 appetizer dishes. Hummus was one of the best I have tasted and grilled octopus was cooked just right.
It was nice
Great place for business lunch in the downtown SFO area. Service was good and food was fresh. Noise level was high.
We loved it! I'll definitely be back to eat those dumplings. They are very special. Everything was really tasty and had delicious flavors.
We really enjoyed our meal. We ordered 3 mezes and an entree to share and the food came really quickly (we were done in under an hour!), and was delicious. I would highly recommend the beef kebabs.
Great food. The restaurant has an open floor plan, so no quiet intimate spaces. However, the food is great.
It was busy and loud when we were there. However, the noise level wasn’t so bad we couldn’t have a business conversation.
The French host/ manager was very rude to me. There was a new guy wanting to seat me as I came in but the French guy told him I had to wait til my other person arrived. A guy walked in and said he was meeting someone but they weren't there yet and he seated him right away. Then when my friend did show up he decided to help this other guy instead of us. The new guy was so nice and seated us. He should be the manager!
Went here for Valentine’s Day and it was horrible. The food was awful besides the appetizers. It was a prix fixed menu and pretty busy so perhaps not reflective of how the food normally is. That being said, I didn’t even finish my steak dish. The tables were crowded together with loud music that forced everyone to shout. Drinks and food were ridiculously overpriced. In general, the entire experience sucked and it was a bummer given we were trying to make it a special day and paid a huge bill anyway.
I really wanted to like Barcha, after looking at the menu and making a reservation. And, unfortunately, I couldn’t. From the noisy dining area (with some awful and indecipherable beats thumping in the background (and I love EDM), to the not-quite-on-top-of-things service (a couple of things were late to the table), to the great-sounding but too-sweet menu items, it all equated to “meh” and that I wouldn’t go back to Barcha.
Amazing food and service, we order plates to share, love the octopus, prawns and manchego-chicken croquettes. Steak was awesome too!
A great find. Ambience great.
Service was great and waiter very solicitous and accommodating.
I highly recommend this mediterranean creative fusion restaurant
The food was excellent but the service was terrible. It felt like we were forgotten as table next to us was sat after us and served first. When waiter finally came to us, no apology. Limited interaction during meal and only asked how it was after plates were cleared and he handed us he check.
I am a frequent diner at Barcha - have always had good experience until this most recent visit. We were there on a Saturday night, and the place was pretty much empty. There were maybe 5 tables of patrons (less than 10% full). My friend and I ordered quite a bit of food to share. When we ordered the food, the waitress told us our table (the regular 2-person table) might not be large enough to accommodate all the food. I told her if that's the case, she would just use the empty tables next to ours on either side. When the entrees arrived, we ordered the Shaksuka (which comes with another plate of flatbread) and the stuffed eggplant. The Shaksuka arrived first with the flatbread. Then came the eggplant dish. But the table had no space to accommodate the dish. The server (a different woman from the one who took our order) impatiently first moved left, then to right of our table, in search of a spot to put down the dish. I told her that there was no enough room and she could just leave the dish on the empty table next to us. She refused and ordered us to " grab the bread in your hand so I can take the bread plate and put the eggplant dish there". I questioned why she could not just leave the plate on the other table and explained she was making an imposition on us. She remained insistent and began to put the eggplant dish on top of the bread. So we did what she forced us to do. She basically threw the plate on our table and then left. Needless to say, we were not happy. When the manager stopped by later and asked us how our meal was, we told him the whole incident. He was very apologetic and gave us free dessert. Bottom line, the servers need better common-sense training. I certainly would not bring clients there for business meals any time soon!
The weather on Feb 3 was perfect for us sitting outside. The food was amazing. I’ve been to Barcha for lunch. Loved the idea it was not crowded.
Great food. Great menu for sharing. Exceeded expectations. Will return for sure.
Delicious creative food and friendly, warm and attentive service.
I like dining at Barcha a lot. The food is terrific and the ambience is great. My only complaint was I felt like our waiter was rushing us out. It was lunchtime and busy but we weren't even there more than an hour and it was obvious he wanted to turn over our table.
Great lunch place
The smoked salmon lavash and hummus were delicious! I really enjoyed this place!
I eat at Barcha often twice a month. But Tuesday's experience soured me. They changed their policy of seating right away to seating only complete parties. What you have is a cluster of people around the check in stand right by the door. There are no other options to stand unless you stand outside. No thank you on a 49 degree day.
Really unnecessary, as there were about 8 people all standing at the check in area waiting for our parties, most people just waiting for one more person.
The food is always outstanding, but the check in process was awful.
This neighborhood is a food desert unless you want a $20 basic bowl lunch. This place was great for the price and neighborhood! A little fancy for my liking, but really pretty, and amazing food and service. If you have to eat out there, it's worth a try. Make a reservation, they get busy! I only gave food four stars because they ran out of rice...how does that even happen?!
My jacket was stolen
This is my go-to restaurant for both lunch and dinner. The quality of the food and service have been consistently great! They're able to flex to meet the needs of our requests. For example, I love Caesar salad and it's only offered with kale (I'm not a fan of kale). I asked if I could get the Caesar salad (dressing with the extras: beets, croutons, etc.) with the chop lettuce and they made it happen. It's my favorite!! I also order it with the lamb meat balls. What a taste memory that is! The wait staff provide just the right amount of attention with their knowledge and personable behaviors.
You will become a regular and fan of Barcha!
The hummus and side potatoes are the best!
Good service great food. Quite expensive.
This place is always a good lunch spot, but always found it a bit overpriced.
Appetizers were exceptional. Had to wait about 45 after appetizers for the main course to come out, which unfortunately was on the colder side. The knife was dirty with food particles left behind. Dessert was pre-plated and the baklava was mediocre.
New Years pre fix. Amazing service. Pricey but delicious
With excellent cluster of Mediterranean dishes on its menu, Barcha makes it a to go place in San Francisco for a meal of your choice.
The food is mouth watering, with great portions, and authentic taste hard to find anywhere.
Chicken Croquettes, Lamb Shawarmas are excellent choices.
