The food was for the most part good, but not great. Especially for the very high price charged. The service was inefficient and frustrating as I had to get up and look for the waiter for everything I needed. We were celebrating my birthday and I looked on line and found the restaurant chosen from location and good website. I was sorry I choose and family was somewhat disappointed. Sorry I have to give a less than positive experience but Judy being honest. Oh, the place was quiet and good for privacy.
Birthday and Bon Voyage celebration was delightful.
Food and service was excellent.
We will return!
Nice and quiet spot, always consistent with their food and good service. Good outdoor area, plenty of indoor seating and live sports if you’re into it.
This is a hotel restaurant, but the quality is pretty good overall.
We ate well and the wine was good, so I can't complain
This place is horribly managed and staffed. The kitchen is understocked, the waitstaff is so slow you'd think they were understaffed, and their managers are amateurish at best. The food is low quality, and given every other item on the already shallow and small menu was out of stock, there really wasn't much to choose from. Located in a doubletree hotel, Barbianca is basically a glorified hotel kitchen. It's not worth the price, the cost, the time, or the consideration. It's literally the worst Open Table find I've ever come across, and it's no wonder they issue 10X bonus points, the place was empty. There was only one other table that arrived well over halfway into my group's experience. I certainly won't go to this restaurant again, not even for the 20% discount coupon I got for my first time Yelp checkin. That they've also gone more than 4 hours without processing/issuing my OT points is also a concern. They clearly checked me in when I arrived. Perhaps they don't know how to use the venue side panel within the app. Bottom line: don't waste your time and money on this place, especially if you're hosting an important group meeting.
Good food at Happy Hour bargain prices. We arrived at 5:00;PM so we avoided the peak dinner crowd. Great service and good drinks. One side of the dinning room is open to a view of the pool. It reminds us some of favorite places in Honolulu.
good food, decent service, comfortable and relaxing. When we got there, there was no one to acknowledge our reservation which was a little disconcerting , but OpenTable apparently took care of that. The restaurant space is open and inviting.
Hidden gem! Barbianca is located in Hotel MdR. It's very convenient for business meals, meetings and casual dining. Food is good, gluten free options more than some - including pizza! Fun in the summer to watch the people in the pool and wonder what I did wrong that I'm still working!
The food & service was good however the kitchen needs to work on its timing. We were still eating our appetizers when the main course was served. Not good.
I've been to Barbianca before and found the quality of the food better back then (2 years ago). It is still a nice location and offers space for large groups. The waiters were really nice and were even sweet enough to split our bill into separate checks. If you are looking for a communal experience with not too fancy food, this is your choice!
Our server, Tammy, is great. The food is quite good. I sometimes wish there were more choices, but I always enjoy this restaurant.
The view is amazing!! I am on a special diet . I can not eat gluten and dairy and they were very kind to adapt to my request. They have a fresh salad bar and my dish was delicious!!
The salmon dish was very good. The beet salad was also very delicious.
The restaurant is beautiful, the food was ok however the service was very slow. The server had to tend to the pool and the restaurant patrons which really slowed down the service. All the food came at once, that included appetizers and main course.
Barbianca Local Kitchen is consistently good. Very pleasant dining experience where you can hear each other talk. Our server, Tammy, was great. So friendly, efficient and she even remembered that this particular group of friends dined there about a year ago.
Jefferson was an outstanding waiter and the grilled octopus was probably one of the best dishes I've ever had!
We've been there several times. We enjoy the friendly service and the good food. We've started ordering the Farmer's Soup at every meal. It is just the way we like our soup.
I had the Lamb Shank and found it to be very good. It was more than I could eat so I enjoyed it again the following day at home. I recommend Barbianca.
This is a real gem. Low-key, not pretentious - the menu will have something for everyone. The Salmon was delicious as was the Osso Bucco. No complaints! Sit outside on the patio.
I wanted to have drinks and small bites for my 30th birthday with around 15 guest myself included. I immediately thought of the Barbianca Local Kitchen. I've been to the Barbianca Local Kitchen for drinks with my co-worker in the past so I've grown accustom to the great customer service I received from the bartender Tammy. Well this visit the complete opposite, from the time I checked in for my reservation Joe G. had the worst attitude from someone I've ever encountered working in customer service. While giving the hostess my name to look up my reservation Joe interrupted her to say "We called you to confirm 4 times and no one picked up the phone". When I asked the hostess to read back the number that was called, they had my telephone number off by a digit, and not once did Joe say I'm sorry for the mistake on our behalf. After that Joe continued to keep his attitude when he tells me that he can't seat us until 50% of the party was present. For as long as I've been living in West Los Angeles and surrounding areas there has always been traffic, especially on a Saturday evening when people are trying to enjoy their weekends off. To not stand in the middle of the restaurant I just told him to seat my party of 8 at the time and later when my other guest arrived we had to be inconvenienced while the staff moved more tables back over to our original section to make room for the guest that finally arrived. The drinks were great throughout the night thanks to Tammy, as was the food. But the service we received from our waiter Jefferson started off good but during the visit he slowly disappeared causing us to get up and get the pitcher from the side of the bar and refill our own water. We didn't know if Jefferson had gone on his break or home for the evening, we had to ask another member of the wait staff to get him out the back to get our check. This was probably the last time I come to Barbianca Local Kitchen, this was not a good experience.
The hot sauce

The hot sauce
The Fennel Sausage Pepperoni pizza has a hidden flavor that is amazing. It's unique. Arugula and Quinoa salad had just enough pizazz in the dressing to want more. Whoever the chef is, he or she, they did a fabulous job. The shrimp and seafood angel hair was sooo wonderful.
We went online to order J's hot sauce and love it. It's truly the best hot sauce I have ever tasted.
Surprisingly good restaurant for a hotel. Unacceptably high corkage fee for a non-destination restaurant. Can get a little noisy if a lot is going on at the bar.
We like to eat early and arrived at 5:00 PM. About 25% of the seats were being occupied, so the service was quite attentive. We like to mix happy hour food and drinks with the regular menu so there are attractive savings and excellent Italian dishes. Food and Drinks were very good. Barbianca is a place we will be going back to often.
This is a great restaurant. Casual, very good food. Loved the rigatoni.
Enjoyed dinner but could have had much better service.
Very good food and Drink. We were early, 5:00 PM, so we had our choice of table and very attentive service. Happy hour prices are attractive if you like to eat early.
The restaurant was surprisingly empty when we arrived. The waiter was friendly but the food did take a while to be served. The food was delicious. I got the swordfish which was really tasty but was not quite filling. My date got the Christmas Special which consisted of a salad, a New York steak and a berry dessert. Once we were finished eating our waiter informed us 12% was taken from our bill due to the acknowledged wait on our food. Overall, great experience. I proposed earlier that day to my fiancé and the restaurant did acceptingly well for the occasion.
The food was surprisingly good. I came in expecting just average food but everything I had was tasty. I especially liked the polenta cake.
Shocked that I was at a hotel restaurant, the food was delicious -- and we just spent the summer in Italy!
The food was very good, even excellent, but the dining room decor wasn't very welcoming, the service spotty, and the experience overall left something to be desired. The wine by-the-bottle list was too expensive. The outside signage for the restaurant and restaurant parking was almost nonexistent. It seems that they are catering to hotel guests and not the walk-in crowd. Too bad, the kitchen is special, but the rest of the restaurant needs some work.
If the food wasn't absolutely fantastic, I would've given this place half a star. Friendly hostess, that was about it. For a slow night, the service was terrible. Who seemed to be the "manager", walked around to every table except ours. In a "race-sensitive" America, he and his waitstaff should practice a bit of equal hospitality....
We love this best kept secret and were completely delighted and surprised to see our friend and favorite server, Jefferson, back in town after 6 month, and working again. He had done a cross country tour playing harmonica. We love this cozy yet elegant space and the folks that work there are the very best... Great food too, by the way.
Our spontaneous Halloween dining experience was much better than expected. We wanted to stay local & close to home, but insisted on trying something different in MDR area. Normally, we wouldn't go out for a local dinner at a hotel in our own hood. But the more reviews we browsed, the more curious we were about several reviewers claiming its a "local hidden gem." And indeed it was/is! Our apps & entrees was beyond our expectations, as we chose to sit outside on the patio. We started with a generous portion of the mixed calamari which was very good. It's coated in corn meal, it was light & not oily, and the marinara dipping sauce was very good too. We also enjoyed a very tasty artichoke flatbread pizza, and all the ingredients & toppings were pared-well and balanced. For our entree' we did another thing we hardly ever do - we both ordered Salmon...and very glad we did because it was one of the best filets of salmon I've had in a long time. The portion is/was HUGE (8oz according to menu) and the top layer was perfectly chard & crispy, while the rest was moist & juicy throughout (not easy to do with Salmon without overcooking) The sauce on top was amazing and the side dishes accompanied the fish vert well. The only disappointment of the evening was our dessert. We ordered the Caramelized Pear Tart. But the top layer was not Caramelized at all, the pear portion was tiny, and the remainder of the tart was dominated by way too much crust. Maybe it was an off night for the pastry chef (on a Monday night) because the description on the dessert menu was not what we thought we received. Nonetheless, we had an excellent dinner which made up for the mediocre dessert, our waiter was very good & attentive, and as we were leaving my GF & I had a very nice conversation with the manager & assistant manager. Looking forward to returning and perhaps trying their Sunday Brunch.
I really didn't have high expectations about this place. It looks like a typical hotel diner---but the FOOD!! The preparation and attention to detail are on the level of a fine dining establishment! The short rib bolognese what phenomenal and my steak was cooked to perfection!! I highly recommend this place!!
A hidden gem ... especially for MDR - PLAYA - WESTCHESTER LOCALS (ask about discount). Relaxing, great ambiance, easy to visit plus the manager and staff are very pleasant and make the effort to appreciate your business.
We've dined here twice. The food and service are excellent. The only reason we found this restaurant is Open Table. We don't usually go to hotel restaurants. You have to try this place - not your typical hotel restaurant!
Good breakfast buffet and pretty outside seating. Your typical hotel breakfast.
We ordered several small plates. Each was outstanding. Of particular note was the polenta. The service was attentive without being intrusive. I wonderful gem tucked into the MDR. We will return.
We had breakfast included w our room at MdR. It was the buffet only- asked if we could get credit for the buffet and order from menu and were told no. Service was non existent and food was typical buffet- not bad but nothing special- selection was good
Great menu - lots of options
