Great food and atmosphere, thought prices were a bit high, $10 for roasted cauliflower seemed to be a bit much.

Friendly, helpful service in this pizza joint at Water Tower. The meatball appetizer and roasted cauliflower were actually better than the pizza, though it was decent. Expect a bland, though wood-fired, crust with fairly basic toppings. I'll go back but will stick to the appetizers and roasted veggies.

This was our first visit to Bar Toma and I think we found a new favorite place downtown for the family. We have 4 kids, ages 5-11, and it's tricky to find a city restaurant that we feel comfortable bringing them to. The atmosphere was very casual and welcoming. We started with the monkey bread appetizer and it was very good. I shared the large size cheese pizza with the 4 kids and it was the perfect size. Loved the wood grill method! For dessert the kids had vanilla soft-serve but they said it didn't taste like ice cream. I ordered the cookie that was half Oreo and half chocolate chip - so good! My husband ordered the small size of the shrimp pizza and was only able to eat half of it. He said it was very good, though. Our server, Kyle, was very personable and got along with my kids very well. Thank you, Bar Toma, for a great experience!

Nice place, food was really good, the roasted cauliflower was delicious.
Only small issue was the crust in the middle of the pizza was a little soggier than I'd like, but it tasted really good.

We had booked dinner before heading to a concert nearby. Unfortunately because of the snow half of our party was one hour late! Our server was extremely accomodating! We ordered 2 different pizzas, they were excellent! I would like to go back and try different items on the menu. The only issue we had is that we were sitting near a window and it was pretty cold, I am sure we could have moved if we had asked!

I loved Bar Toma for a dinner with my wife when we went, but I would not recommend it for a business lunch. The waitress interrupted our conversations a few times at very inopportune moments.

Drinks were fantastic - Fall Mule was outstanding - apple cinnamon vodka with ginger beer. Fun atmosphere, very good pizza, and fast service.

I've been to Bar Toma many times and have returned because it was great in the past. They have revised the menu and remodeled the dining area. I liked the old menu -- especially the old salad preparations -- why mess with a great thing?? And.. no gelato anymore? The kale Caesar was just Ok -- lacked the seasoned breadcrumbs, kale cut too large and was not special (it used to be). The ricotta -fig crostini were good but needed a drizzle of honey and some basil or something. Missing the old Bar Toma!

Bar Toma was a great place in Chicago to get thin crust pizza. The one with the egg was delicious and genius! Will definitely be coming back for further date nights.
