Second time in 1 week at Bar Sugo. I celebrated my birthday here last Tuesday. Everything about this restaurant is excellent. Our waitress knew about all the food, all the wines and all the drinks - a rarity nowadays in the restaurant business. The saluminaria platter - excellent choices, delicious. The crisp fried calamari - fresh, not those little frozen circles you get at other places. Octopus and chorizo - the chorizo was better than I have had even in Spain. Pizza? Amazing quality - twice now. This place is brilliant. So glad we heard about it. I am in the wine business and when wine-makers tell me that when they are in the area, this is where they go, you know it's good. Congratulations,

The food was absolutely delicious. Fresh pasta and some of the best meatballs ever. The seasoning was just enough to bring out the rich flavor of the dish without being overwhelming.

Service was prompt, friendly and attentive.

My husband had previous been to Bar Sugo, 3 times for dinner and once for brunch - it has quickly become a favorite spot! The food is just outstanding. However, this time the service was incredibly disappointing, and to make matters worse it was my birthday dinner (which we had noted while making the reservation).
It was some of the worst service I have ever received at a restaurant. We were completely neglected and forgotten about - while I feel our server knew this, he refused to acknowledge it or apologize. I won't drag on about the details because I am really hoping this was a fluke, as all our other previous visits have been wonderful.
We still love Bar Sugo and will continue returning as long as this whole bad service thing doesn't become a habit.

Good food. Cozy ambiance. Friendly waitstaff. The only drawback is we showed up on time for our 8:30 reservation however we ended up waiting 30 minutes. They apologized profusely.

I've been here a few times, but this most recent time was my last. The food is overpriced and the quality is not consistent across all the dishes. Some are good, some bad, some misrepresented (chicken liver mousse was more like a hard paté). They have a table in the back within view of the toilets and the friend who was with me said they often seat her back there (and that's where they seated us last weekend). Not exactly a nice touch. They're popular enough that they'll continue to do fine without my patronage.

We could not have been happier with both the food and service at Bar Sugo. Everything, from the homemade pasta (you have to try the cavatelli), the pizza, different meatballs and brussel sprouts, was amazing. Our first visit was as a family of four with a 5 and 9 year old and they are already asking to go back. While it was certainly child friendly there is not a children's menu. They happily made by 5 year old plain pasta with butter. It would make a wonderful date night restaurant as well.

Magnificent service and the food was even better. From the octopus and short rib appetizers to the fungi pizza and the veal meatballs, everything was amazing. Finally, the wine and beer was well chosen and curated. Don't let the location deter you and go be impressed.
