not to have dinner, only to dance and enjoy the music
The bouncers are very arrogant and rude at the door . I go there very often but they just seems to be so full of themselves . I live in soho and I love this place for the ambience .
The Italian waitress that was serving my table was so polite and smiling all the time . She was very caring and amazing
Terrible experience!!!! The worst, I've ever had! I chose this venue to celebrate my bday with my friends on Friday 26th. They ruined it for me! I paid booking fees that were not refunded, and a bag with sentimental bday presents went missing and i've been calling for the past three days to inquire about it but no avail. I emailed them, left many many voice messages, use their useless chat service, and still no response! Meanwhile when they needed to secure the booking and wanted me to pay money, their communication was splinded. They called, emailed and signed it with a smiley face!
There is a miscommunication between the restaurant and the bookings office. Also the food is very mediocre, the quesadillas come half filled..
Took 25 minutes for anyone to even notice we were there
Oh dear. Well, we booked (and confirmed our booking) on Open Table, obviously, but the staff did not have us on the list. Even though the restaurant was empty, we had to 'negotiate' a table with them, and ended up squeezing six of us, onto a table of 4. When the food arrived, of course, the table wasn't big enough. The restaurant was still empty, and although the wait staff decided it would be too 'difficult' to move us, we ended up moving ourselves. The manager apologized, sort of, and said he wanted us to 'have a good time', and then promptly disappeared, back from whence he came, never to be seen again. The food was luke warm. The rum punch was very nice, but the margeritas were the WORST I've ever tasted (we left them all!) and the Limoncello shots, which should be frozen, were warm, and disgusting because of that. Awful. Don't bother. We didn't even get a discount after all that! I think we might have got more, if we'd yelled at them or something? Complaining politely but clearly, doesn't work. I wouldn't recommend this place.
Only offered a set menu on a Saturday night. The reason we booked was for the tapas menu. This was not stated on their website that i could see. Service a little slow but not too much a problem. Catered for my friend who has allergies which was good.
The food wasn't too good, and the waiters (to no fault of their own) were understaffed.
Selected on the basis of location to Phoenix theatre. Limited time to eat before performance. We managed to get served in time to make the performance but we did have to chase waiting staff several times to achieve this. Food was average but our expectations had not been high - we just wanted a quick meal. The wine was poor. I think it probably gets quite lively later in the evening with dance classes etc. I wouldn't choose this restaurant for a night out but it served its purpose as a quick pre-theatre meal.
A place to celebrate every occasion! I like going to this place every now & again. Service is superb & service staff are friendly, patient, smiling all the time & welcoming.
I had a great time. Excellent ambiance. food very good. I do not regret my evening. thank you and continue like this
The staff were verh nice. We ordered our drinks and got them in like 5min. Same with the food. Happy hour highly recommended.
We didnt join the salsa lessons but it was nice to see them dancing. We ended dancing after dinner.
We would definitely go there again ;)
i love bar salsa ! i went last friday with my friend to eat something and i didn't like my chicken curry...no taste,no spices in the dish and not enough portion like for this price. but anyway we did like coctails ! which were awesome !!! see you soon !!! ;)
Great Salsa dancing but slow service and food wasn't great.
We came here for a pre theatre dinner and was pleasantly surprised. The music and the atmosphere of the salsa bar was really good! I requested to be sat in a booth and that's what we got! The service was a little slow to start with and we had to get up and ask someone to come and take our order. Once we had ordered the service was good after that. The food was really average, we paid £13 for fajitas. We had 3 small wraps, very little in way of sauces and cheese and the chicken was rubbery, looked like it had just been reheated and definitely wasn't sizzling like advertised. The plate was mostly full of pepper and onions, pretty poor for £13. Anyway it was edible and filled a hole, we finished our drinks and then left after an hour. All in all the experience was cool as we got to watch the salsa dancers in action. We would go back for salsa and a drink but maybe not the food.
Sie haben unsere Reservierung nicht gefunden. Ich hatte Angang November reserviert. Vor Ort hätten wir dann 25 Pfund Eintritt zahlen sollen. Wir sind dann wieder gegangen.
Food good . Very disappointed in PINA Colada cocktails. They was made with Milk not coconut milk they were tasteless, we addressed the issue with waitress whom addressed it with the Bar Manager who was happy to except the way they were made and did not replace them with another cocktail couldn’t care less . We always went there before going to the theatre as before we have had the best PINA Colada’s not anymore shall have to find another restaurant.
There was no record of our reservation, we were told we could use our taste card and then informed but another member of staff (when it was time to pay the bill) that we had been given the wrong information and it was 'too bad'.
Food was great as always, but the staff were horrendous.
Turned up after booking, they had no record of our booking, wanted to charge us £2 each to go down and see if they could find us a table. Completely disinterested in helping us out.
Came here for my birthday, Restaurant wise - The Table service was awful. The guys serving were so rude, how they manage keep their jobs in there I do not know, Luckily it was made up for by the dancing at the end everyone was really friendly, so club wise I’d go back. Dining wise that’s a definite no!!
Booked a 5.30 table to give us plenty of time for theatre at 7.30 literally 2 mins away (Phoenix). We just made it. Impossibly slow service. Forgotten drinks. Forgotten food. A very couldn’t care less attitude as they know most of their trade is 1 off custom. Refused to pay service charge and then ran to theatre !!
I have booked a table days before and called twice. It was a special occasion. But at the time of the arrival no table was available anymore. Totally unreliable
First of all, because I used to work within the industry I am always with my eyes on my watch. we have been a party of 10, a birthday party actually. 2 from my party have ordered Aperol spritz which no one said at the beginning that you don't sell that, they came after 1 hour and a half, together with a round of drinks that we ordered 7:45.
Secondly, it is the first time I am going somewhere, I have a booking and the people I am waiting to come to my party have to wait and queue to get to me. why do I have a booking again? but the doorman explained - policies. the same doorman who cannot make the difference between someone's slow speech because he is suffering from stutter and some who is drunk. and when we all tried to explain it, well, apparently we argue and we are all drunk so we cannot go back inside.
Overall, the worst experience ever, and it was a birthday party.
Thank you Salsa Bar
I have been coming here for a number of years mostly for the Salsa classes but occasionally for the food. Their menu has just had a major revamp and I would recommend the Pork Hock Feijoada or the Chimichurri Half Chicken, both delicious and properly done.
The only draw back with this place, is that it can get really crowded and difficult to enjoy the Salsa afterwards and on Saturdays they only serve a set menu which may not be to everyone's liking
I have been to the bar before, and that is not the problem. At the entrance they will ask you for an ID that in OPEN TABLE is not mentioned. The booking was not even processed because in Bar Salsa, they have yo confirm it and IT WAS NOT CONFIRMED ! Another booking was done the previous day and happened the same. If ypu want to book in Bar Salsa, contact them first, otherwise you'll find the situation of no booking, THANK YOU OPEN TABLE!
The £20 deal was amazing. .. entrance, cocktail, food, desert and a shot ... very nice
If they are offering a set menu with drinks . Please offer proper drinks . The cocktail was disgusting and the final drink as well . I rather pay for my drink than having a free drinks .
The atmosphere is always great
I didn't like the service, food is very , very spice, takes ages to ge a drink and u drink only ice, u can't dande because there is not space to dance to many people...
Our visit was extremely enjoyable. Granted we did have our own great company(!) but the food and drink was great. The atmosphere on a Thursday night is lovely. Only one criticism - the lessons went on a bit long, and we just wanted to hear some music and dance! But - now I know that, I can plan around it. Smashing place - and I will be back.
Very disappointed in Bar Salsa. Booked a table for nine of us for a special occassion and upon arrival all very excited, the doormen turned us away, accusing one of our party of being too drunk to be allowed in. None of us were drunk, one of the girls wobbled in her heels as she walked into the entrance and that was it. The guy were very rude to us and wouldn't listen to anything we had to say. We were all very much looking forward to our evening and sadly Bar Salsa managed to spoil it all. One of the girls managed to look into the bar and said it was packed which clearly showed they had over booked and were looking for excuses to turn people away. Will not be going back or recommending to anyone
Unbelievably poor service. I don't have the words to explain how terrible the service was. It does have a fun vibe with music and dancing. Food was average. Cocktail selection was good. Service was just so dire none of that matters.
I was very happy with the prompt service and the comfortable seating as well as the dancing.
I definitely recommend this venue.
Took a group of 9 out for dinner. The food was good, the place was really nice and while still a Saturday night and dance classes were happening we could still have conversations around the whole table. Fails to get full marks as our service staff swapped so some drink requests were wrong, the original order was lost as we were asked again for our after dinner shot choice and had to prompt them to take the deposit from the bill.
Great place with a great atmosphere and had a fantastic evening celebrating my birthday
Excellent value for money; great atmosphere. Thank you
The service was so poor.. Took 30mins for our waiter to appear at the start.. After we had to ask for someone to come over. Our table of 12 were given 2 menus (there were hardly many people dining at that time). All just a bit of a mess. Thankfully the salsa and atmosphere made up for it!! So luckily the hen had a fab time.. Dancing, not eating.
An over all fantastic evening. Great atmosphere and great food. Total people pleaser!
The service was so slow. We waited nearly an hour for the first drinks we ordered and a little less than that for our second round. The food took just as long. There clearly weren't enough staff by a long way
We made a reservation because the patio is nice but got there and found out there is no service outside so we sat in the basement which was cold but felt good on a hot day. The waiter gave us one drink menu, he took 30 minutes to take our first drink order took the menu took 230 minutes to get our drinks then 20 more to brink back the menu and 20 more to take our next order then another 40 for food to come out and another 20 to get the drink menu again...that's how bad the service was. Food was good but salsa was made with canned Tomatos and faux from a squeeze tube.
Food was good but 3 tortillas was not enough. Waiter forgot about my cocktails, then he served us warm wine.
