The food here is wonderful, perfectly prepared and served... an informed, sensitive, attentive staff without hovering... its always a delight to come here... Colin, the Manager is always generous and gracious ... i highly recommend it... the music was a little louder and more monotonous than I prefer, but not to the point of a disturbance... A little jewel in the East Village.
Bar Primi is a young people's restaurant. Noisy, semi-adequate food, distracted service, modest prices. I think it's popular simply based on herd instinct.
Excellent. Friendly and delicious.
Me encanto la carta y el k=lugar en si, buenos vinos, súper recomendable
Listen, I liked the food. The rice balls were really good but the carbonara was not traditional enough. It needs more egg, less cream, and no cabbage.
The downstairs restaurant was extremely loud on a Saturday night. Food was superb especially the small plates. I ordered a "mocktail" which was very unimpressive and cost $9. My husband's martini was on the skimpy side.
The food was great. They did a great job with my kids. Excellent wine selection by the glass.
Delicious brunch with unique, Italian entrees. We got a pitcher of mimosas and a pitcher of the passionfruit Bellinis; everything was delicious. Only detracting factor was that our waiter started asking us for our order before the whole party had even arrived and it felt like he came over to ask every couple of minutes. I hate being rushed and feeling harassed into ordering before everyone is ready. The constant interruption was extremely irritating, and the restaurant was mostly empty so there was no need to rush whatsoever.
Everything we ordered was delicious
The space is simple pretty and comfortable
Food was delicious!
The ambiance is the only thing great. Service was poor: pushing all the time (to be ready to order and to clean the table before I even finish!), asking twice in less than 5 minutes if we wanted wine. Food was not good at all (pasta was too “al dente”/almost raw). Go somewhere else!
Everything was good, from the ricotta crustini, the antipasto salad, down to the pastas and chicken dish. Service was good. Nice meal, nice servers, would definitely recommend
Service was minimal and less than cheery food drab and portions smaller than expected hostess rude overall bad experience will never dine there again or recommend to anyone with tastebuds.
Amazing food with a very lively atmosphere
The food was great but... was at the bar asked for a "well" vodka martini. The bartender did not seem to understand what well meant, so asked and I said cheap vodka. The martini came back about a little over half full in the smallish glass and cost $17
My friend and I were dumbfounded and mentioned it to the waiter and the maître d' - both said there would be some consideration in the bill and there wasn't.
It was quite nice and cosy and a welcome respite from the cold. Service and food were good.
Menu appears relatively simple, but that is not what the meal brings. Dishes where simple flavors should shine (prosciutto) were kept that way and the quality of the ingredients shows through beautifully. The truffles ricotta bruschetta resonates with the wonderful smoothness of the cheese and just the right amount of truffle oil - without being overpowering, and the honey adds a wonderful sweet and flowery note - a subtle and excellent flavor build. The pasta dishes menu descriptions can’t begin to detail the wonderful layers of flavor that build on your palate as you savor each dish. We had three very different pastas and each one was unique (truly different flavor notes which is not always the case in Italian restaurants) - and equally interesting and enjoyable. It didn’t seem like you can wrong with any of the choices. Service was outstanding. We may have benefited from it being Easter as I could see the restaurant getting louder if packed, but the room did not seem like it would ever have the noise issues we find at so many new, industrial chic spots. Overall just a wonderful evening - we will definitely be back.
Staff and the food were great, Can't wait to be back.
Thank you for the great Easter
The staff was amazing! So glad I tried it
Very good food pretty good service fun atmosphere music playing!
Great spot with fantastic atmosphere. Perfectly prepared Italian dishes, and attentive service. A little on the noisy side on a Fri/ Sat night due to all the hard surfaces and no sound deadening tactics, but you'll definitely feel like you're in a hotspot.
Would recommend everything we ate (crostini with ricotta, artichoke pasta, branzino, pistachio gelato) other than the lamb bucatini and the cauliflower. The bucatini was good, but nothing special while the cauliflower was definitely the mistake of the order and not worth anywhere near 16 dollars.
They were great. Super accommodating of my two kids. One of them puked all over the place and they were super nice about it. I felt so bad. Thank you!!!
Food was delicious and staff very attentive. tables are very small and crammed together if you don't mind type of thing. Get the meatballs and squid ink pasta!
Amazing food! Their rice balls are the greatest thing I’ve ever eaten. Also amazing cocktail iced tea with limoncello! Love this place! Keep coming back.
Tables are very close together
I don't know if I would recommend or go back. My wife's pasta was good, but my lasagna was cold and obviously not prepared fresh.
The food and service was fantastic!
deceptive entrance, looks a little ordinary from the outside. but the first floor is welcoming and the upstairs main dining area attractive and larger than expected. food selection interesting, service attentive and atmosphere subdued, but appealing. conversation friendly.
I was looking forward to this meal as I'm always on the lookout for Italian that is a cut above the standard red sauce type of restaurant. The lemony arugala salad with marcona almonds, tart cherries and parmesan to start was outstanding. The pasta was cooked perfectly al dente, but both the linguini with clam sauce and the squid ink pasta with crab and garlic cream sauce had an overpowering amount of garlic. I could barely taste the small amount of crab for the garlic. The tiramisu was also a disappointment with an overly generous amount of cocoa and a sour tasting cream. It's an attractive space and the service was OK, but not worthy of another visit.
Lots of waiters, not to busy- but not super helpful. Good food
In my humble opinion, the pasta was overcooked, not al dente. Nice wines by the glass, including a fire priced Barolo by Diego Conterno.
Amazing as always
Was an unknown place that we picked and were very pleasantly surprised. Would definitely recommend it.
Great service, beautiful restaurant, amazing food. Loved everything!
Great vibe, lighting, noise level! Not sure the pasta is worth $25 but it was still tasty! Stuffed meatballs were amazing as well.
Very pretty, well appointed place, nice bar, nice happy hour, good pasta, decent service , don’t have much other than pasta on menu.
Seamless service for a table for 10. Thank you !
Truthfully, I had to wait 35 minutes even though I had a reservation. Asked server for bread multiple times and it never came. Server let us sit for 15 minutes with dessert menus before coming back to the table, and we were in a bit of a rush to leave. Food was fine but would not come back or recommend to a friend.
Great Night, we’ll be back to finish dinner, we enjoyed the appetizers and cheese but didn’t make it to dinner because the drinks were too damn good, so we just kept on ordering those Paloma # 7 and got drunk. Very good restaurant and expect overall. Will be back soon.
