Bar Mercurio Toronto
Welcome to bar MERCURIO. We are a quaint Italian restaurant that serves fresh pasta, a fish of the day, classic antipasti, and not - like our whole grilled artichoke. With our salads you will find an anchovy partial Caesar salad to a healthy kale salad with Pecorino cheese.
What stands out are our pizzas. Our pizza dough has been a family recipe for over 100 years and not compromised. We don't do any of the new soft dough stuff that is trendy and etc etc
We serve classic pizzas like buffola and prosciutto to "crazy" stuff like rapini and Grey Owl goat's cheese sausage.
Our gluten free crust is uncompromising, made entirely from rice flour.
In addition, we are pleased to be able to offer an interesting selection of wines and cocktails.
We look forward to hosting you.
The food was just ok for the price point. I would have expected it to be tastier.
Loved the ambience. Found the starters pricy.
Mains- I ordered the striploin roast. Everything was cooked to perfection. My companion ordered the fish which the menu described as coming a bed of pasta over a layer of spinach. When it arrived at the table It was more like a pasta dish w fish as a sprinkled topping. Our obliging waiter rectified the situation with a more generous portion of fish and everyone was happy. Good Americanos. Would definitely go back.
Very high quality and delicious food.
Great place, with some authentic Sacilian dishes and great wines. The entire meal was fantastic!
I enjoyed everything at Bar Mercurio - the friendly cozy atmosphere; the yummy food and loved my pasta al dente (spell right?). Great ambiance and easy location. Will go back again.
Phenomenal as usual!
The perfect prelude to a show at Koerner Hall. Everything was first-rate. Highly recommended!
Hard to beat the ambiance if you love copper accents and cozy decor - also, the waitstaff and front-of-house are all very accommodating. Bar Mercurio is very close to Koerner Hall which is why we were there in the first place. That being said, my friend and I started with a kale/caesar that was a bit soggy and since I had just had a fantastic kale/caesar at The Pie Bar the night before, it was disappointing. After that, we both ordered pasta (instead of sharing a pizza) and it was good, but nothing special. In fact, my friend ate only half her meal and left the rest. I would recommend sticking with the pizza or perhaps the daily specials? Also, we had notified the restaurant via OpenTable that my friend was celebrating a birthday and nothing was done regarding that which was disappointing. Why ask on OpenTable for special event details if nothing comes of it?
Not in a real hurry to return which is unfortunate since I had raved about the restaurant to my friend.
I had mistakenly reserved for the wrong day. The hostess and waitress were very accommodating and we had a good meal, in time for us to make the concert.
It is a wonderful place....😊
we were told about a special by the server and we opted for it.
It was probably the most expensive dish on their menu. and we were not made aware of that.
I feel overall my experience was good but certainly that one dish was totally off and pricey.
Great experience, wonderful service and awesome food!
Servers were on point as their recommendations were great. Serving sizes could be bigger for what you’re paying. The tables were a bit close to one another making privacy non existent but the food was tasty and the service was good!
We had a wonderful night out. The specials that night were amazing. Would definitely go back!
Premium atmosphere and service - premium price
Incredible attention to details, outstanding ingredients, wonderful specials every night and superbly tailored recommendations, Mercurio is most definitely one of my favourite restaurants in Toronto, hands down.
We always love it at BM.
We notice you don't provide serving forks, we don't like to touch our food with our hands!
Other than that, perfection. We tell all our friends.
Can we buy a BM apron? We love them, they are beautiful.
Our server was knowledgable, friendly and very informative. He was darling. Very helpful with the wine and the menu selections. It helped that the dish that I ordered he told me reminded him of home. (Northern Italy). I forgot about this treasure of a restaurant.
The food was well prepared and delicious. The serving portions were perfect - not too much. The price point was also great. I will absolutely recommend Bar Mercurio to my friends and return my self.
All three of us enjoyed our meals immensely. In addition, we shared a dessert that was interesting and not too sweet. We all walked away happy and satisfied with our experience at Bar Mecurio. I'm always happy to dine there for dinner and lunch with family and friends. We are repeat customers happily.
Thank you for a super evening. Thank you Rob for making our evening special you. Can’t wait to return.
Welcoming and friendly. Love having dinner seated at the bar and meeting marvellous people
Paolo and the owner were absolutely phenomenal at having us as their guests. The only hiccup was a family who's children were clinking their cutlery to their glasses and it really disturbed the whole restaurant...after that stopped it was lovely.
Great food! Service just mildly inattentive at times, but not the waiters fault, would go back!
I think that the atmosphere was great and we have enjoyed dining at the restaurant greatly. Good pasta and the team has complemented the appetizers and entres. For the areas of improvement, those would be with the visual atmosphere -- there seems to be an opportunity to improve the visual appeal of this great place.
The service is perfect, the surroundings are lovely and the food is always good. Lots of new faces (servers, bartenders, etc.) that are very welcoming.
Location is perfect for Koerner Hall concert attendees. Bar Mercurio is a neighbourhood gem.
Lunch menu on their website lools fantastic. However the day we went it was not the same as the actual lunch menu (which didnt have any of the more interesting items appearing on the website). Seeing nothing but standard unimaginative pastas and similar that almost every italian place has and not particularly inspiring we (disappointingly) ended up getting individual sized pizzas each costing almost $30. Pizzas were pretty good but no more so than a $5 slice from pizzaiolo.
Always delicious food, wonderful wine. A great, really Italian, neighbourhood spot
Best business meeting local in the 416. Love hosting groups here - great food great service!
Have eaten at Mercurio in the past, and enjoyed. Knew it would be busy, so made a res for 1pm. Arrived a few minutes early, was told to sit at the bar....offered no menu or bar service as we waited. A 2-table was empty. 10 min later asked about sitting there, and was told it was booked for 6. No sure how that was happening as the next table was also being used...yet we could not have the empty table. Told to wait...likely another 10 min. Turns out it was the owner seating and he said people came late for lunch (assume w/o reservation) .... basically making our reservation useless. When I asked him if 10 min additional wait is realistic, he said maybe 20. Showing total indifference to the reservation booking. I asked if we could eat at the bar, as he quickly walked away ignoring the question. Sat for a 5 more minutes and he came back and acknowledged us again, asking if we would like to sit at the bar. We then left. This restaurant has been around for many years and many holiday seasons, so there was no excuse for this to occur....plus the owner was condescending and dismissive. Definitely sensed there were 'regulars' in the restaurant. So, if you want to deal with a condescending and dismissive owner who does not recognize reservations, I recommend.
Our waiter was so nice and friendly. We have came twice and loved it
Food was great and our waiter, Roberto, is always fantastico!
Fantastic spot with exceptional service. Delicious pasta and pizza and very nice ambience in the restaurant.
It was incredible. The experience was a 10 from entering the restaurant to leaving. We have been to many fine restaurants but no doubt this one was right up there with them. We arrived with an inviting greeting and offered a seat at the bar where we ordered a cocktail. Both cocktails were made with fresh ingredients, no cheesy bar lime. Then we sat at a cozy seat for two. Our server was very knowledgeable and gave us great direction with our choices. Every bite from apps to desserts melted in our mouths and we savoured every flavour. We would definitely return on our next trip into Toronto
Very warm and inviting atmosphere, we felt like we weee in a upscale New York City restaurant.! The staff are very friendly, the owner was very welcoming. Great Italian food - service was a bit slow but I would happily go there again!
We eat here frequently. This was the best meal we have had here in memory.
Thanks Joe! Great service and great food.
Although I love the ambience and the location, the food and the value don’t compare favourably to other high end Italian restaurants.
Excellent food. Very good service. Prices for specials not communicated and a bit of a surprise.
Food was yummy and their tiramisu was delicious!
Great location. I thought the lunch was a bit over-priced. A non-descript small salad beside eggplant parmigiano for $25.00 . Tea was $6.00. Ambience is pleasant.
