Bar Americain at Mohegan Sun
Excellent service and so accommodating! We were a group of 6 and everyone was totally impressed with our multiple food choices and the excellent service we received.
It was great, we ended up eating dinner at the bar (our choice) vs sitting at a table. Tommy is always the best!
The food was good but not good enough for what we paid. also were bother by a few small flies during the course of our stay. One of us found a hair in their dinner roll. A neat place but not impressed.
This is one of my favorite places to eat at Mohegan Sun. Friendly service, excellent food! The menu has something for everyone, but the cedar plank salmon is usually my choice! The sides are meant to be shared - try the smashed potatoes with goat cheese.. yum!
Our waiter Sean was wonderful. Made a tough night much better
The food is absolutely amazing. We were there celebrating our 19th anniversary. The only downside was our waitress who was not very personable, while she did execute her role efficiently, her deamor was perfunctory at best.
The food was delicious. Our waiter was excellent!!!
Everything was great except our table was right next to a huge column where people had to walk around which made them walk right next to our table. We asked hostess if people will walk the the other way around column if we're seated there and see said yes, however that wasn't the case and even she seated another table and had whole party walk right that way which every time made my wife move. Not acceptable in my opinion especially when my bill for 2 was over $250
Went to Mohegan Sun for a concert. We had dinner at the restaurant before the show. The Food was outstanding the atmosphere was fun and the service is good.
Everything was fantastic except the entree came out a little quick. We were still working on our appetizer when the entree was served. Overall it was amazing. The food, atmosphere and server were incredible. I would definitely recommend this restaurant to my friends and family. I look forward to dining there again.
Seating was fine and we were seated immediately. Just an observation after using the restroom, if you are a table of 2 you might want to ask to be seated on the opposite side of the restaurant as the restrooms. Lots of tables for 2 and lots of foot traffic back and forth to bathroom in that aisle. There is even one almost in the entrance to the restrooms. Onion soup was hearty and delicious. Enjoyed the deviled eggs with pickled shrimp - pretty unique twist, lots of vinegar. Fried chicken was good- average. Homemade biscuit was size of a dollar coin. Nothing “wow”. Cioppino was delicious with lots of seafood and broth and just the right spice level. Waiter became a bit complacent and didnt stop by until end of meal to ask if we wanted a drink refill. Busser was on it all night removing used dishes and offering more napkins and water. For dessert we had the german chocolate cake- wonderful. The slice is so large you can definitely share- for $11, a good value if you have room for it. Bright cheery atmosphere, acceptable noise level, overall a good time.
Had a filet and strip steak. Both of our meals were great. We enjoyed a hand crafted cocktail before dinner. Server was great.
My son and I headed up to Mohegan Sun for a concert, with the plan to eat at Bar Americain beforehand. Our drive was supposed to be two hours but it took closer to three, on a Friday night. We were so late for our res at 530, and each time I called to let the restaurant know, the hostesses were gracious and helpful and understanding. They told us to come no matter the time, and they would hold our res for us. We finally arrived at 615! They were welcoming and sat us right away. Our wait person was solicitous and professional. I always specify that we need gluten free items but had forgotten to mention; she overheard me say that my son and I have celiac disease to the waiter who brought bread. She zipped over and clarified that the salad I ordered had pita chips on it so she will have them removed. The food was delicious! My son had the crab/coconut cocktail while I had the lobster/avocado cocktail. Both were outstanding. I had a great salad, with extremely fresh ingredients and my son had a steak that he said was fabulous. I was waiting for a huge bill but we got out of there with apps, entrees, 2 glasses of wine and dessert plus zip for a little over 200. Not bad for a commercial, touristy casino-locale restaurant. Will definitely return!
Had a drink at the bar with my GF before we were seated. I think if the male bartender smiled his face would have cracked. Thank goodness for the other female bartender, she was great.
The food at dinner was excellent, but the service was poor. Took forever for anyone to come talk to us. After we were seated, another couple was seated next to us. They looked over the menu and decided not to stay. They then seated another couple. The second couple had already been served their apps, and were almost done with their dinner before our dinner was served to us (we did not order any apps). 15 seconds later she asked if everything was ok. We then did not see her again until 10 minutes or so after we were done eating. Not impressed.
I’ve eaten here with my wife a lot and previously we had no issues, food was always good but this past weekend we had to send our meal back. Totally over cooked filet mignon. I Never send food back but this burnt to a crisp so I had to do it. We ended up waiting another 30 mins for the steak to come back. By then we were all done and just wanted to leave. Maybe it was a bad night for the chef OR he just has no idea how to cook a steak.
*they did give us a complimentary side dish for the trouble.
A lively and delicious dinner! The service was great and the food was terrific. We had a great date at Bar Americain.
Great service. Very professional presentation. Great ambience.
Consistently good food and excellent service in an elegant room. My favorite restaurant at Mohegan Sun, whether I'm looking for a full meal or just enjoying the raw bar selection.
I thought it was very nice ! Great service, nice ambiance
Fine dining restaurant featuring a simple, high-end menu selection. Service and ambiance were excellent. We selected an earlier dining time- the restaurant was comfortably busy but not terribly noisy. There was a hiccup with one of our orders (it wasn't entered), but our server quickly and graciously resolved it. The food was more heavily seasoned than I would prefer, but the desserts were on point. Would recommend for special occasion dining or a fine dining experience option within the resort.
We had a reservation and got seated right away. The server was very professional and nice. She did mix up our order and we got the wrong food. Mistakes happen and we weren't that upset about it but for what we were paying to eat there it was disappointing. She brought a free appetizer to hold us over without us having to ask. The food that did come out was obviously rushed and was very under-cooked (I got an essentially raw piece of salmon). We sent the food back. Again, the waitress was very apologetic and took the food off the bill, and offered us free dessert which we declined (we hadn't eaten dinner yet and had been there over an hour). The menu is very limited, overpriced and my salmon dish came without any sides which was unacceptable given the price.
I would go back to the restaurant for a memorable meal but the cost is so high that the flavor experience is not worth it. (There are other fine restaurants to explore and their prices are much more reasonable).
The wine portions are well below the industry standard. Atmosphere is very good but I went there on a slow Wednesday night.
The food was aweful. We had a ribeye and a NY strip. They weren't even Stop n Shop grade. They were chewy tough and terrible. Our waitress was crabby and completely impersonal
Dinner was over $200 , thankfully we skipped desert. Never again. We are very dissapointed: (
Steak was fantastic.
Got the triple cocktail appetizer to share and it was not as fresh as I would have liked. Crab and coconut tasted fishy with no coconut flavor, shrimp and lobster cocktails were okay however sauce with the shrimp had little flavor. My entree was the lamb which was tasty. A little chewy and fatty but flavorful. Came with mashed potatoes that were made hours prior and not reheated well. My friend had the ribeye, was a little over done for medium rare and had a little too much fat, should have been trimmed a little better. Small side of mashed potatoes for my friend and small side of asparagus to share. We each had a glass of wine and no desserts or coffee. $200 before tip. I wouldn’t mind the cost if the meal was better. Service was fast but rushed, making the meal feel pre-made. Wait staff was knowledgeable and professional.
Sean was an EXCELLENT waiter and we enjoyed our evening.
Fun vibe ... after all it is a casino so we did expect loud . Service was spotty our server disappeared a lot but his support staff did pick it up . Food was fine . Salmon cedar plank was tasty . Oysters were good but presentation just ok . Mussels were tasty . Food took longer then it should with l the way they churn it out .
The fresh local oysters were excellent. The vinaigrette soaked shrimp on top of the Deviled Eggs was a surprise. Not sure it is a good combination and glad neither of us is allergic to shellfish. The salmon was cooked perfectly. The seafood in the Cioppino was great, but the stock/soup base was bland. It's is a very good restaurant. The coconut lime sorbert was right on. Unfortunately, most of Booby Flay's restaurants these days fall short of where they were when he was not spread so thin with countless restaurants and television shows. Oh, for the days of the original Mesa Grill in Manhattan!
Food was outstanding great service atmosphere festive not the place for a romantic dinner very lively great for a celebration.
The ribeye steak was delicious.
The service was amazing. Steaks had too much pepper and too much char, but otherwise it was a great meal.
Very enjoyable dinning event great service polite hosts and excellent food will definitely return again
Heather, our server, and Jen, the maitre d’, have us the best night we have ever had. Thank you both so much. And if your manager is reading this, I INSIST they reward you both. Keep up the incredible work, and we’ll be seeing you both very soon!!!
Food was boring. The dessert that we ordered was stale cake. I mean stale! Had them remove it from the bill
excellent service and food, we had a great time and will go back.
The food was not good my dish was awful and overpriced
Our waitress was outstanding. Made us feel right at home on our date night. The cocktails were fantastic. I’d recommend the hot chips as a nice side. Paired it well with a NY strip. We’ll definitely return!
Food quality not the greatest. Prices very expensive.
We enjoy all the restaurants at Mohegan Sun. We are so happy to see Katie back as Hostess at Bar Americain! Like Emerald at Tuscany, Katie always begins our evening with a smile!
Stephanie was our waitress. She is fairly new but very capable! In fact she rates a 10 for her patience with our party! One final note and that is; when will Gustavo become a full waiter? He is a very efficient and adept assistant and always very courteous! We hope some day soon he will be our waiter as well!
As always the food was great from the apps to the main course and dessert! Chris, the manger, does a great job with the staff! Needless to say the kitchen staff must be great or we wouldn't keep going back for more! ...And finally if you want to eat or drink at the bar then go see Marion and Tommy! They will talk with you if you like or just serve you with a smile if you want to be eft alone! Bobby Flay can be very proud of his restaurant and staff at Bar Americain! Bon Appétit!
First time visitors but will definitely return. Enjoyed the meal and service was impeccable.
