Overall everything was just wonderful. We have been here several times and it never disappoints!!
Outstanding menus and service
Way overpriced and closing that evening.... could not help wondering if they were serving food just to end their time at Mohegan Sun. It is a beautiful venue, but I felt sorry for the waitstaff who tried to be upbeat when you could search their hearts and know they would have not job security in where they were going next. It will be 12 months before the new restaurant, whatever the is, takes its place.
We had a wonderful New Year’s Eve at this restaurant! Food and service were amazing. Ambiance perfect too!!!
Let me start by saying that I am a huge Bobby Flay fan. I watch all of his shows. This was the 4th or 5th time that I have eaten are Bar American and I have never had a good meal. This time I had the cedar plank salmon. The portion was extremely small and it was overcooked.
The service was very slow. I think they were understaffed. The manager did not come by and apologize which should be expected at this price point. Food is good but we had to rush through the meal.
The salmon was out of this world!
We make a point of coming here to eat every time we are here at Mohegan. Beat food here! Never disappoints
My husband & I had made reservations for a NYE dinner. We ordered the New Year’s Surf & Turf special. The filet mignon & lobster was delicious. Our server Migwer (sp?) was very attentive & gave us exceptional service. Highly recommend this eating establishment. We’ll definitely come back.
Wonderful food as always here! The only thing I would say on the food is that the side of mushroom and onions is doused in balsamic, it was too sour to eat. Nothing on the menu said there was balsamic with it so that was a bit of a surprise.
Also, through booking via the app, we were only able to get a table at 4:45 which is very early. Even when I called to confirm the day before I was told that’s the only time they had, yet we were there until 7 pm and the place was very empty with many open tables throughout the night.
The experience dining at A Bobby Flay restaurant is always awesome! Was not disappointed and was wowed once again with the quality, presentation of the food as well as the customer service!
Too much Kale for me. If that is your signature ingredient, that is a game changer,
Ron made our experience amazing.
We really enjoy this restaurant and the French onion soup is one of the best ever. Unfortunately this restaurant is closing at the end of December. It will be missed.
The lobster is amazing. Great martinis!
I had higher expectations for the cuisine, especially at the price point. To begin, the menu itself was limited- although they did offer a special for two which included 3 sides for $125. We ordered drinks, which were pricey, and the old fashioned was watery and just ok. The chopped salad and crab cakes we had were decent but that’s where it ended. The steak itself would have been ok except- I ordered medium well and had to send it back because it was under cooked, and then it came back well done. The flavor was good, although the meat was now dry and I did not like the steak sauce which was tangy- this was the only sauce they had. I ordered the creamed kale which I couldn’t eat because that was also tangy. They did remove this from the bill because I did not enjoy it. The smashed potatoes were ok, we ordered without the goat cheese. The creme brûlée dessert was a disaster... the custard was way too sweet and the sugar crust on top was too thin and tasted like carmelized Splenda. In my opinion it was not good and should be removed from the menu until it can be made properly. Overall we spent close to $400 with tip for 4 people and feel like it wasn’t worth what we spent.
We were seated between 2 other tables very close together. We felt like we were sitting on the other people's laps and could hear their entire conversations. The table was deep, so we could not carry on a conversation without raising our voices slightly. The caesar salad was not good. It as almost all kale, very little dressing and no cheese. It was not a pleasant experience. We had been there several times before and always had a much more pleasant experience.
This isn't out first visit to B.A. , but we were very underwhelmed w the quality of food, and attention of service. Not sure if we will try again.
The service and the food was excellent
Amazing seafood tower! Dan is a wonderful server- we love a Bobby Flay restaurant and this did not disappoint.
Christmas Eve, where but Bar American? We are always allowed to seat where we want when we go there. The staff is top notch. The food? That is why we go and spend our money. Cooked the way we want and there is no hurrying us to leave. However, I did expect Bobby to serve us at those prices. Oh well, maybe next time.
Very good to excellent. The menu was diverse and offered several good options. Portions were large. Service was friendly and professional. Would have been good to know that the Caesar salad included a large amount of kale and an anchovy, otherwise the flavors were excellent. The bread basket was eclectic with a medley of whole grain; corn bread and rolls - the bread could have been warmer/fresher but still tasted fine.
Attentive and congenial staff who treat you as if you were part of their own family. The overall ambiance is pleasant though it did get a little boisterous as the restaurant filled. The food was all fabulous and delicious and I am a fussy eater according to my wife. I have no problem giving them nothing but caveats. Go and enjoy fine dining at it’s best. Thank you .
Although it was a pleasant meal, I can't say there was anything outstanding about it. We were a group of 5 and we all agreed we could cross this restaurant off of our list. It's not that anything was bad (though the smashed potatoes with and without goat cheese were borderline inedible), it just wasn't memorable. The service was very good. With all the choices at Mohegan Sun, we likely won't be back again.
The place was very nice and service was great. Wish the menu was changed for we haven’t eaten there for a long time and it was the same.
This place used to be great. This time We had one of the worst meals here this weekend. Food was cold and gross. Waiter was no where to be found and rude when he decided to appear. We heard after that they are closing In January. The management should’ve had the courtesy to maintain some level of professionalism or just close rather than serve such a horrible meal.
Great experience loved the food other then one of our main course was a fish dish and was very over cooked and over salted.
The environment is great and service very good but not exceptional-it met expectations for price point but did not exceed them. The food was very good but did not exceed expectations for price point and in comparison to Boston top restaurants. Steak was very good but not consistent with quality or preparation of Capital Grill or other top chains (Del Frisco) and certainly not at level of top one of steakhouses. Overall good time, good food but marginal value. I would recommend to friends and go back but with carefully selectivity of menu for better value
My wife and I wanted to enjoy a nice dinner out while staying at Mohegan. We decided on Bar American and were not disappointed.
We made reservations for 8pm on a Friday night and were acknowledgedand seated in a very timely manner.
We werr brought water and a bread basket right away. Our waiter gave a few minutes to review the menus and then took our drink orders.
The special of the night was a porterhouse steak for 2 for $125. We decided on that. It also included 2 sides which normally cost $14 each.
We ordered our steak medium rare, leaning towards the rare side. For sides we ordered the mushrooms and onions and creamed kale.
The steak was cooked perfectly and was sliced off the bone when served.
The 2 side dishes were excellent.
We spent a couple of hours enjoying our meal and had a great time. We did not feel rushed and the servers were attentive without bothering.
The restaurant was good, but overrated and service was slow.
This is my favorite restaurant at any of the casino's and almost any where else for that matter. The service, staff, food and wine list are fantastic. I was very sad to hear they are not renewing their lease at the casino after January. That is a big mistake not bringing this restaurant back. They will all be missed.
Excellent night! 12 guests enjoyed themselves.
Server had no personality. Is that because the tip was included?
The food and drinks were very good. The salmon was especially good.
Food was on the cold side. Waiter was missing for a long tome. Wouldn’t return
Food was excellent as was service.
I have previously visited this restaurant and was very pleased. As a result, I was excited to return again. Unfortunately, I was disappointed with many aspects of the meal including presentation and quality.
We have gone to Bar American about three times every year when we are staying at Mohegan Sun. Friends and family who live in the area go more frequently. I am surprised that Bobby Flay allows his name to be associated with this restaurant at this point. The hostess is horrible and rude and does not have a clue as to what is going on. My steak was way over cooked. I ordered a glass of Cakebread Chardonnay as I just had a glass at the bar before being seated at the table. The server brought me a glass of cheap Sauvigon Blanc and when I returned it for Cakebread he said I was mistaken. I understand the restaurant is closing on January 5th so the attitude of the employees is very disappointing.
Fantastic Food, great service, wonderful overall experience
Everything was just ok. Nothing outstanding about the restaurant unfortunately.
Great food; reasonable prices for portions. Helpful waitstaff.
