Bannock's honest approach to food is rooted in familiar, wholesome ingredients that are reflective of Canada's rich regional and cultural diversity. Dynamic and playful dishes like the decadent Duck Poutine Pizza and the iconic Arcadian Court Chicken Pot Pie are rounded out by a variety of other classic comfort dishes. The cocktail list is fun and cheeky, while the approachable wine and beer list have a clear Canadian focus.

Absolutely fantastic experience. As always the food was delicious. I can’t wait to be back.
Small portions, overpriced and underwhelming food quality. Very nice, quick servers though. With back windows open to the HSBC it feels like you are eating in a full service, food court; however, your bill will remind you it most certainly is not a food court.
Service was very slow but the food tasted good.
Great Service, delicious food and awesome cocktails
Food was tasty and service was quick, friendly and attentive.
the salad had straight kale and was tough didnt enjoy the salmon that much the smore was great! a little heavy
Chicken pot pie was tasty but rather salty. I advised our server. I wouldn't recommend it to anyone on a low salt diet. Our server was excellent, second time she has served me and remembered me from a month or more earlier. I didn't get her name but she has an English accent.
Marcel was off the hook, sweet, on it and all the things you’d want in a server. Food was delicious.
The service could use improvement. We waited for a while to order and later sat in front of our empty plates for 20 minutes before they were taken away. The food took a while to arrive as well, even though the restaurant wasn't very full. The food was ok.
Promptly seated and served - informative waitress was polite and attentive
Food week prepared and fresh and good portion / value
Great food. Awesome service. Very friendly and accommodating staff.
The wait for food was over an hour after ordering. The waiter must have forgotten to put in our order or there was a kitchen mix-up. People seated after us were served before us. The food was heavily salted and not exceptional. The waiter brought the wrong dessert, and we had to ask for refills of beverages (pop, water, coffee). When we were seated I said to the maitre'd that I was excited to be eating there, and he replied, "You should be." As we were leaving, the manager brought over a complimentary dessert in a box and told us the waiter had made a mistake and had brought us the wrong one. The place was very busy a bit chaotic.
Service was good but slow. Seemed like a lot of tables waited a long time to order, get their apps, mains or to pay the bill. Apps and Mains prepared well and good portion size for Summerlicious. I was a bit peeved when my wife and I ordered the same dessert and my serving was literally half the size of hers. At first I thought it was ok because she was getting a larger than normal serving, but I was able to see some at other tables and mine was definitely half the size of normal. I believe it was a manager that brought the desserts out to us and he even made a joke about it. On a positive note it was delicious.
We went for Summerlicious and it was great!! Fast service, delicious food, good price. The fettucine alfredo with peameal was amazing.
First time at Bannock. Great environment. Decided to go and check out their summerlicious menu. Service was great however, wasn’t too pleased with the food. I’m sure the food on the regular menu is better. I had the Caesar salad and cod cake main which I found disappointing. I found the crackers on the salad too hard and there was way too much pickled salad for the size of the cod cake. My boyfriend had the Mac and Cheese which was good. Overall, it wasn’t a good experience.
This place is amazing. Everything on the menu is delicious and it’s easy to fantasize about the root chips.
Great meal and was fast for a business lunch
Ordered the arctic char. Portion was incredibly small for the price.
The food is absolutely delicious. I ordered the gnocchi for main and the butter tart for dessert. And a side of their delicious bannock bread. I look forward to repeating the experience soon.
Great food and consistently good service.
Usually a great meal so disappointed with the very average entree. Probably the most disgusting onion ring ever which was doubly disappointing as usually the very best .
Bannock advertises as "Canadian Comfort Food" and they don't disappoint! I tried the Chicken Pot Pie and my companion had Fish N Chips. Both were served promptly and were well prepared. The Chicken Pot Pie doesn't have potatoes (surprise!) but comes with a side of mashed potatoes instead. Overall, we liked it. It's a good value, reasonably priced particularly for Downtown Toronto. Note that at the time the building was under construction, but no worries as they are most definitely open for business.
I’ve been here before and the food is always great but the service was lacking this particular day. Server only showed up to take the order then was absent the rest of the meal, took 30 minutes for anyone to bring water refills, never received our appetizer, and we were generally ignored by waitstaff the entire time. I would still recommend Bannock and return again because I know this was out of the ordinary but it was very disappointing this time around!
It’s always a pleasure to eat at Bannock and this time was no different. We had the turkey burger and the BLT. It sounds cliché but you can really taste the freshness of the food. Our server was Fran who was worth the price of admission alone!
Good restaurant - the service is attentive and the food choices are good and yummy. Well worth the visit.
We were visiting Toronto and had brunch here. Great brunch! The food was top quality. I have celiac and they were very accommodating. The potatoes were fantastic.
Too noisy for lunch but good to get together. Pretty pricey for size of portion.
As per usual, everything was well made and tasted good. My only little pickle was that I ordered the special that day, it normally comes with an order of fries. I asked for the fries to be changed to a green salad. I was then charged an additional charge, for what I think should have been a complimentary substitution (and I was not told it would be an additional charge when I placed the order). Like I said, just a little pickle. I will have to make sure I ask beforehand next time.
Food was great and cocktail (passion fruit mimosa) nicely creative. The food portions were huge; great for a man. Perhaps a choice could be given between small and large portion for those who eat less. It's a shame to waste so much food.
The only issue we found were that the washrooms were filthy. Very disappointing.
Wonderful place for a business meeting. The service was fun and didn't interrupt the conversation.
A Canadian Sunday Brunch complete with Perogies, Poutine and Smokes Salmon. Had a great time and a great meal.
Very inventive cuisine, amazing flavour! Great value.
Great service, waitress was friendly and attentive. The Wednesday half price bottles of wine is an amazing deal.
Always good to avoid crowd to have lunch after 1:30pm in downtown Toronto. Bannock is conveniently located, friendly & of good choices of seasonal menu. Liked the seasonal menu a lot. The Shrimp & fish cake, Blackened Octopus were excellent, so as the starter, fish Bannoco . Generous portion of foods, reasonable price and relaxed ambience.
Bannock BLT was tasty but difficult to eat because it was so messy/wet
One of our favourite spots in Toronto. Excellent food, impeccable service - friendly, charming, comfortable, engaging. The combination brings us back again and again!
This was a great place! The "bannodict" was delicious and unique, and our server Claire was lovely.
I used to love the comfort food at Bannock and often came for dinner before the opera. The menu now has fewer options that are of interest, and little that seemed a healthy choice. My friend, who always ordered the mac and cheese, was very disappointed. It was tasteless and had so much cheese that it became nauseating. My gnocchi was quite a small portion, and sitting in a pool of oil. I miss the old menu and hope that this encourages management to reconsider their offerings.
The noise level made conversation impossible. Our orders were not processed accurately and there was no attempt of compensation. The server was inattentive. Overall a truly substandard experience. Having dined here before a few years ago I was deeply disappointed and will not be back. I would deter others from going here as well.
