It’s always a pleasure to eat at Bannock and this time was no different. We had the turkey burger and the BLT. It sounds cliché but you can really taste the freshness of the food. Our server was Fran who was worth the price of admission alone!
Good restaurant - the service is attentive and the food choices are good and yummy. Well worth the visit.
We were visiting Toronto and had brunch here. Great brunch! The food was top quality. I have celiac and they were very accommodating. The potatoes were fantastic.
Too noisy for lunch but good to get together. Pretty pricey for size of portion.
As per usual, everything was well made and tasted good. My only little pickle was that I ordered the special that day, it normally comes with an order of fries. I asked for the fries to be changed to a green salad. I was then charged an additional charge, for what I think should have been a complimentary substitution (and I was not told it would be an additional charge when I placed the order). Like I said, just a little pickle. I will have to make sure I ask beforehand next time.
Food was great and cocktail (passion fruit mimosa) nicely creative. The food portions were huge; great for a man. Perhaps a choice could be given between small and large portion for those who eat less. It's a shame to waste so much food.
The only issue we found were that the washrooms were filthy. Very disappointing.
Wonderful place for a business meeting. The service was fun and didn't interrupt the conversation.
A Canadian Sunday Brunch complete with Perogies, Poutine and Smokes Salmon. Had a great time and a great meal.
Very inventive cuisine, amazing flavour! Great value.
Great service, waitress was friendly and attentive. The Wednesday half price bottles of wine is an amazing deal.
Always good to avoid crowd to have lunch after 1:30pm in downtown Toronto. Bannock is conveniently located, friendly & of good choices of seasonal menu. Liked the seasonal menu a lot. The Shrimp & fish cake, Blackened Octopus were excellent, so as the starter, fish Bannoco . Generous portion of foods, reasonable price and relaxed ambience.
Bannock BLT was tasty but difficult to eat because it was so messy/wet
One of our favourite spots in Toronto. Excellent food, impeccable service - friendly, charming, comfortable, engaging. The combination brings us back again and again!
This was a great place! The "bannodict" was delicious and unique, and our server Claire was lovely.
I used to love the comfort food at Bannock and often came for dinner before the opera. The menu now has fewer options that are of interest, and little that seemed a healthy choice. My friend, who always ordered the mac and cheese, was very disappointed. It was tasteless and had so much cheese that it became nauseating. My gnocchi was quite a small portion, and sitting in a pool of oil. I miss the old menu and hope that this encourages management to reconsider their offerings.
The noise level made conversation impossible. Our orders were not processed accurately and there was no attempt of compensation. The server was inattentive. Overall a truly substandard experience. Having dined here before a few years ago I was deeply disappointed and will not be back. I would deter others from going here as well.
Food was good but wouldn't consider it exceptional. Definitely a new twist on Canadian standards.
Bannock is very handy to the Opera, and the food is delicious, and service quick for finer dining. We go a number of times a season, and appreciate the well prepared food with a "Canadiana" twist. My gnocci this time were absolutely delicious. My companions duck poutine pizza suited his "twenty-something" appetite...not for the dieting crowd. Pizza of the day was "pleasant"...we've had more exciting things from the menu. Tuesday tall cans are a deal, which was appreciated by all.
With the notable exception of the host, the wait staff presented a welcoming environment and kitchen crew provided an excellent meal.
We found it cafeteria-like - tables crowded together, noisy.
Friendly but slower than they and we expected
We went there for the food and were really disappointed. We had the Duck Poutine Bannock and the blackened octopus. The consistency of the fries were horrible - No crunch, no texture, not even a good potato. The blackened Octopus was way overcooked , hence dry and chewy. The "blackened" was burned pepper. The lentil underneath tasted like canned lentil soup you can get in any german supermarket. No texture to the lentils, no balance of flavour, but instead too salty to eat it on its own. The small slice of lemon made it edible, but all in all we were severly disappointed and regret choosing this location as our first meal on our Canada trip. :( I was really looking forward to this. :(
Outstanding service for a birthday dinner. Wait staff was friendly and accommodating; we didn’t feel rushed or pressured. Would definitely make this one a regular dining spot. Thank you Bannock!
We ordered the Margherita pizza and the Kale Caesar Salad.
I would say the pizza was above average in flavour and the salad below average.
The server was attentive and professional and advised us of the drink specials we took advantage of.
Only 1 Unisex washroom out of 3 working. Not good and my wife had to wait about 10 minutes.
Pretty good comfort food. However one of the dishes at the table was over salted (shrimp fish cake ) .. the Beer battered fish and chips was excellent .. as was my friends burger
Went with a friend to Bannock for Sunday brunch....have been there previously but never before for Sunday brunch. It is fabulous!
$7 peach/mango or blueberry/pomegrante mimosa's (can also get them virgin if you wish).
The 'Eggs Bannock' is spectacular!!! As is my always favourite, free range turkey burger.
The only thing that surpasses the food is the service. Special thanks to Scout for making this visit so special and to the always charming Nick, our server.
Excellent service but limited choices in the brunch menu.
We booked with OpenTable about an hour prior...happy with our server and meal choices.
We have been to Bannock many times and it never fails to deliver a great meal. Service is quick and friendly. It is always a first choice when travelling downtown for an event.
Bannock was the best meal we had during our 5-day stay in Toronto. Our server was so kind and accommodating, and made great menu recommendations. We appreciated the amount of vegetarian options on the menu.
Great take on Canadian food and great service at a convenient location right by the Bay.
Always have a good meal and good service here. A place to bring visitors to show them a sampling of Canadian cuisine, or at least a good variety of options.
Our server kind of forgot about us after we got our food
It was utterly brilliant! the servers were impeccable and amicable. The food is absolutely scrumptious, to say the least! I would 100% recommend this place to anyone.
The service was exceptional. The food was very tasty, but the wine list was a bit overpriced. The shared dessert - S'Mores - was beyond amazing!
Really enjoyed the food and service. I would recommend checking this out if you're in the area. Much better than the mall food court!
The food was absolutely amazing and the serving staff was great. This was the second time at the restaurant and I would go back in a flash. This has become my favourite restaurant.
As usual, Bannock does not fail to satisfy. I’ll be going back soon.
We went because they featured a Maple Brunch - the cocktails were spectacular and the food was simply devine
