   We frequently dine at Banbu Sushi. It’s become our regular, decompress Friday go-to spot. Creative, high quality and delicious food and drink offerings, consistently excellent and friendly service (special thanks to wonderful Cass who has taken care of us several times!) keep us coming back! Depending on where your table is will change the rating on ambiance. Many places/tables warrant 5 stars while others not (due to kitchen traffic, noise level, temperature variance). It’s has always still been a wonderful experience and we’re so glad Banbu Sushi is thriving!!

   If I could give this restaurant 10 starts I would. Always fresh and the service is amazing. Jalapeño poppers with eel sauce is a must. The lemon-cilantro roll is a favorite! Vegetable fried rice is fantastic. The menu is not just for sushi lovers, it will accommodate the entire family, especially kids. Must try. A true hidden gem in the La Mesa.

   Good service and a nice atmosphere did not make up for the fact that the food here is wildly overpriced for the quality. So many better sushi places around for FAR less. Will not be back.

   One of our favorite places for sushi! Just wish it was more affordable. We would go more often!! We enjoyed the Aburi roll the most. The fish ceviche bowl was not as good as we had hoped.

   The noise level inside was very loud for some reason. It’s usually a bit more reasonable. Good service, good food, great variety on the menu.

    Our server, Sam, was exceptional. 1st time at Banbu & she explained everything perfectly. Food was delicious (especially the sesame chicken) & the sake delightful. We'll definitely be back for another date night!!
