Overall great atmosphere and food, I would definitely go back again.
We were passing through SLC and wanted to revisit since our first dining here 6 years ago. We were happy to find that the food was still amazing. Service was a bit slow at the beginning but our server was great.
Elk au Poivre was cooked to perfection. Tuna Tartar was fresh high grade ahi, wild king salmon was done right. Beet salad could have been better but no complaints.
My only disappointment was cocktails. They sounded amazing on paper, the execution was underwhelming.
Food never disappoints! Elk was amazing and of course the chips for an appetizer are our favorite. Service from Jack was great!

We intentionally wanted a lovely dining experience before the theater event. Let’s just say, I’ve had better. So much better. I figure the cost of the food reflects the whole experience. For the price we paid the service was a 2 (aside from the assistant who refilled our water was a 4), the presentation a 3, food taste and enjoyment a 3 — among other things the disappointing warm baguette (a “starter” menu item intentionally ordered) being a half cold, dry, Sysco bread bun, the salmon was dry, and the Jonah crab with the soup was a tiny garnish. I will say veggies on each dish were cooked to a nice tenderness and had good flavor. Yes, I tasted them all.
It’s unfortunate this is supposed to be of the best in SLC.
I definitely won’t return, on purpose, to Bambara.

I love the Bambara. We go every New Years Eve. The menu seemed more limited this time but they have the old favorites --Blue cheese potato chips.
Our meat was not cooked as we wanted it but they made it right and I thought it was the best steak I have ever had.
Our waiter was excellent. Bus staff also.
Our cocktails were bad, but I didn’t want to send things back because it was a celebration dinner.
The food was just not great, except the corn bisque with crab, which was delicious.
This is very much a hotel restaurant: okay food, very high prices.

As usual it was delicious. We always have the same things .. strip steak cooked to perfection and potato chips with melted blue cheese. Service was prompt. We had exactly one hour to finish in order to see the ballet and they happily fed us and got us out of there. We love Bambara.

With the Capitol Theater across the street we would have loved to have made a 5pm reservation rather than 5.30 to better enjoy our time at Bambara, but we couldn't. They open at 5.30 which I find disappointing. There just wasn't enough time for all we wanted to eat and drink! Besides that it was sheer perfection. The menu is great, and our waiter was very knowledgeable about wine. I loved Bambara!

Wow the New York strip was exceptional!!! The waiter was funny and very fast. Very dark in the restaurant, not my style. The food was great so I cannot complain.
Good food, service a little off
Menu options aren't great. Food was good but not outstanding and as such not a good value for the money. I would expect a $50 entree to be exceptional.
Food was awesome, but service was the complete opposite.
Wonderful experience. Our first time there and will go again. My husband was really impressed with the simplicity of it all but yet elegant (and he is pretty picky). Will go again!

Bambera had a wonderful Thanksgiving dinner. We loved everything they served! It spared us having the cleanup and cooking at home. We would definitely eat here again!
Our family eats out every thanksgiving, usually
at very nice places. This was our first meal in which all family members agreed, this is our new go to tradition for thanksgiving. The food and staff were beyond. Our meals were traditional and served directly to us to help with COVID control and staffing issues. Needless to say, everyone needs to make this their new tradition. We will!
While I would still recommend Bambara because the food was good, the prices were a bit steep for my taste. $33 for a small vegetable plate seemed steep. I appreciate that it was a creative plate and tasted fine, it felt more like an appetizer.
Pricey but decent food. The waiter was knowledgeable but covered a lot of tables so service was a bit sparse.
Atmosphere was on point. If you plan on chatting for a while I recommend a table and not a booth.
My wife wanted to go someplace fancy for her birthday, so we picked this. That turned out to be a mistake.
We both ordered a salad and an entree. The salads were ready very quickly, and finished off even faster, because they were *tiny!* And then we waited for the entrees. And waited. And waited. And waited, for the better part of an hour. Finally the food arrived, and it was similarly tiny. Good, but very small portion sizes, *especially* considering the price! We knew we were going someplace expensive, but if I'm going to order a $50 meal, I expect to receive $50 worth of food!
After all this, we were still hungry, so we asked to see the dessert menu. They only had one item on there that didn't contain either coffee or liquor, and it looked boring and ridiculously overpriced. So we just went "screw it" and I got my phone and put in a dessert order from the Cheesecake Factory. (And *that* was ready for pickup before we even got there!) How a place like this manages to remain in business, in the heart of Salt Lake City, while displaying such blatant ignorance of the demographics of its customer base is beyond me!
The food is amazing everything we come here, definitely best food for the price
We sat at our table and waited for our food for an hour. Our server told us our order got lost in their system and needed to know what we ordered again. It took over 10 minutes for them to bring a glass of champagne to my girlfriend and had to ask for it before it was brought to us. Our server never apologized for our wait on anything
Simply amazing dining experience and incredible menu. The Tiramisu was the best I think I have had period. Main dishes were flavorful and plated really well. Wine offerings were superb. I look forward to revisiting.
Ordered the NY Strip, the cut was low quality. Preparation was excellent.
We were seated in the back room and felt like we were forgotten. The service was very slow. It took 15 minutes to get a glass of wine. The vegetarian dish was delicious. But the scallops were way too salty. I think it’s ridiculous to charge $5 for baguette and butter. If I make a future reservation, I will request to be seated in the main dining area so the server remembers I’m there.

First time back to Bambara since C19. Menu has familiar favorites and some new additions. Like most restaurants right now service is suffering due to staffing shortages, but the food was excellent and you can tell everyone is trying.
Tuna tartare and scallops were delicious. The restaurant has an open kitchen, which is fun until they cook Brussels sprouts.
Have read mixed reviews here prior to going to the restaurant. We found the food and the service to be great.
