The food was revolting, even by London standards. The hamburger patty had the consistency of dog food and tasted like fake meat (or what we imagine fake meat tastes like). The fries were under average and the steak tartar was made with ketchup. The first waiter was terrible; the second excellent. Nice vibe even for a tourists trap. Go for the food but stay with the hope you get the good waiter.

Olives were bitter, baguette and butter lovely as you would expect, steak frites nice, mac and cheese excellent. However service was terrible from the moment we walked in. Completely disinterested and not attentive. Lady at door couldn’t be bothered, gave us wrong menus, repeatedly had to ask to be served. This place has gone downhill. Food was okay though if you don’t mind sub standard service.

Lost complete control of the service, chaos, no leadership. Sat down 30-40 mins late (having waited 10 minutes at entrance), queues of 20 trying to check-in, unused tables waiting everywhere, you had to beg to get hold of your wine 10 metres away. A bad night, it happens, but needed leadership. An apology, a free drink, someone marshalling forces, making decisions. Explanations and communication. Not lots of negative attitude and shrugged shoulders

Noisy, crowded, tasteless food, do not order the onion soup, it’s a failure, the pork shop was tasteless.

We visited Baltazar in Covent Garden on Tuesday evening for dinner. We had a lovely time enjoying the really great food and wine. We will look forward to our next visit to the restaurant in the near future. We'd certainly recommend this place for a really nice lunch or dinner. With thanks!
