It was a delicious meal with wonderful service! We did ask for a table by the window, as we were the first in the restaurant and were told it is computer generated so we had to have the table the computer assigned us.( we thought that was a little crazy!)

Not our best experience. We went New Year’s Eve and even with a fixed menu and an understanding we would not get the best this evening, it was less than we hoped. The staff was busy and jumping, so I didn’t mind when our 2nd course come while we were 1/2 way into the 1st., but when the main course arrived it was way past a reasonable period of time that you would expect. This was still acceptable until the duck my wife ordered could not be found. There were 4 - 5 shredded pieces covered by the sweet potato nuggets (appeared to be a reheated frozen product) as part of the dish. The amount duck on her plate was equivalent to the portion of one Chicken drummy on her plate. Tough evening for a restaurant to predict and if I didn’t drop $250 into the meal I wouldn’t care so much. We did have a minor discussion with our waitress but she was to busy to do much with it. Spending money on a good meal is always worth it to me but if you can’t fill the order you shouldn’t have to pay full price. Hopefully our next experience is better.

The restaurant was very busy NYE and very noisy. It was hard to hear each other. There was a prix fix menu. I chose sweet potatoes in duck confit, and it was delicious, particularly the duck. i savored every bite. My partner chose hanger steak. He was not as enamored by the food as I was.

We Went there for the duck, but it was no longer on the menu. It was probably the best thing on the menu. Hope they bring it back. We had the lamb chops and they were excellent.

Why this place isn't packed every night is beyond me. The food is always perfect. It looks very good when presented. Service is great. The only...only knock...you are in a retail setting somewhat. For the food and consistency, who cares? I bought a bottle of $20 wine from the store. $8 corkage fee. No big deal.

First Bloody Mary or Mimosa is complimentary with an adult buffet, can't beat that! But the food. The food! So good! Omelettes to order, smoked salmon, peel and eat shrimp, prime rib, made to order eggs Benedict, made to order waffles. Come hungry because you will leave full. And as I opined in my earlier review, the food quality is better than Ya-Ya's.

We live nearby and have eaten at Balaban's many times. The food is always consistently very good. The salads are terrific, good flatbreads, tasty sandwiches for lunch, and I love both the trout pancake appetizer and the lobster ravioli, among many other delicious dishes I've tried there.

We weren’t starving, so we opted for the pate, one of our favorites. We then shared the margarita pizza. Both weee delicious. The wines were fine, just as they should be at a wine store. My lone gripe (again) are the clunky glasses.

This Sunday, my wife and I decided on a whim, to go try Balabans for brunch. We were pleasantly surprised by the following: High Quality Breakfast and Lunch options on the buffet, carving station, omelette bar, and my favorite - the Egg's Benedict Station. The atmosphere was really a nice, calm environment. The place was not overly crowded, the service was on it - no cold coffee or empty water glasses. The included Belini/Mimosa was a nice touch too! Highly recommend.

We just loved this place and will go back frequently! We had their Lobster Ravioli, their Applewood Bacon Flatbread, and their Beet Salad. The food preparation was creative and delicious. Frankly, we have never eaten anything so good and we have traveled on all seven continents, 58 countries, all 50 states, and all 10 Canadian Provinces! We have literally eaten our way around the world and would place Balaban's in the Top 5% of places we have eaten. You must go there!! And did we mention their amazing wine selection!!!!

Balaban's is one of our most favorite places for dinner-our meal was wonderful except for one exception. Two people in our party ordered the Paella which had been ordered in the past and was wonderful. A big disappointment this time as the rice had little flavor and the seafood was mediocre(no clams in some of the shells??). What has happened to a dish that was wonderful before? the rest of our meal was outstanding as usual and the service was great!

I have always loved this place. It's hard to find restaurants in Chesterfield that are not part of a chain. Everything was perfect. My only complaint was it really was noisy but that's because it was packed. Swear by the trout pancake.
