   The Shishito pepper appetizer was delicious & the grouper special was out of this World, and then came the bananas foster brownie dessert, which was totally decadent & worth the calories!!

   Great place to people watch on the porch. Our server was very nice and helpful. The building is really cool. Very old victorian original wood/hardware etc. Close to the water on the more touristy part of Duvall st. Knocked off a star because our food was so so. Eggs over cooked, they remade them but they came much too late to enjoy. I would go back for The Bananas Foster French toast! Yumm.

   Excellent fresh swordfish and other local area fish. Both inside and outside dining. Great selection of specialty drinks.

   We had a wonderful experience at this location. Hogfish Tacos on point and Lobster Mac and cheese wonderful. Great place to watch the people take on the Roosters and eclectic crazy Duvall Street. Can’t go wrong here.

   We were given a table near the toilet. Not an uncommon happening despite our Open Table reservation. I asked to change and the reception person was rather rude. Then there was a procession of out of towners who would not know to call ahead for an outside table and they were given better tables. I am sure that we were ignored because I asked to switch in a very polite manner and they did not like my request.

    We’ve eaten here multiple times over our 16 years of visiting Key West, and the food is always very good. This time, the service failure cascaded into it being a very non-standard experience. The server took our order without writing it down, including that my husband and I ordered the same steak with the same cook on it (I know, I know, but it’s what we wanted), only differing on the sauce for the steak. Somehow, she put mine in as a different steak. When I sent it back, she came by the table and said it was her fault, but they were cooking my steak and it would take a few minutes. Meanwhile, my husband’s steak was perfectly cooked (medium-rare+, perfectly cooked top to bottom) and very tasty and tender. When my steak was served, the cook on it was wrong and unrecoverable - it was a fully grey well around the edge but raw at the center, and no matter what you do to a steak at that point, it’s ruined and would never be properly cooked to a medium-rare+. I sent it back, and when the server said she’d ask for it to be cooked more, I didn’t need an entree because “more” wasn’t going to help. The server removed the dish from our bill (I would hope so), but that was it. So we skipped dessert (we never skip dessert when on vacation) and left. We mentioned it to the hostess as we left, just to make sure it was known by anyone other than the server herself. Please, don’t get me wrong. We have always had great food and outstanding experiences while at Bagatelle in the past, for breakfast, lunch, happy hour, and dinner. I would still recommend it. But this one time, the screw up by the server cascaded into an improperly cooked steak that was unrecoverable. Mistakes do happen, but the efforts to repair the mistake were inadequate, and I’d bet cash dollars it was because the server never told the manager what happened. So, for this one time, this server desperately missed the mark and absolutely ruined two perfectly good hunks of meat and my experience.
