We were hungry after leaving Cedar Point and this restaurant seemed to be highly rated on OpenTable and open late so we have it a shot. However, this restaurant was closed when we arrived for our reservation. There was another party of 4 who was also looking for the restaurant. But everyone was running around confused trying to get into the restaurant. We left and went to the Olive Garden up the road. Should really update your allotted time slots on OT if you’re going to close early...
Surprisingly good food in this Soprano-esqe setting.
We all ordered the delmonico ribeye and because our kids were sharing it the they them a thin fatty peice steak but the one my husband and i got looked like an actual ribeye. The salad was a mixe of old lettuce and spinach just thrown in a bowl with cucumber and nasty vinaigrette dressing. We had to wait for refills. The potatoes & asparagus that game with meal was disgusting. We have eaten there two other times and it was good. This time was ridiculous. I won't be back.
We checked in to the hostess & she said she wasn’t taking anymore tables since everyone came at once. I told her I made a reservation thru open table which advertised 1000 points & she had no idea what I was talking about. The place was empty so it was actually comical. It was also very dark like a casino.
We were seated & ordered wine which was not drinkable. We then ordered cocktails & Alaskan King Crab legs for $65 each. It came with lobster bisque which was good but a bit salty, salad & bread.
The platter of crab legs was huge. It was perfectly cooked & the crab just fell out of the shells. There was so much there I had to give what I couldn’t finish to my husband.
I might go back on a rainy day, but just too dreary in there for us.
It was OK, just not my type of place
Looking for a good surf and turf restaurant while in town - made great choice - old school restaurant.
Horrible! Waitress didn't know what wine was available. We made several bottle selections and she came back with two glasses of wine and said "we got it!" After one taste, we knew immediately it wasn't what we ordered! We left.
We had a terrific server during our dinner, they brought us a lot of extra food courses we weren't expecting and everything was delicious. The prices were also very reasonable for everything.
Always phenomenal service, food and drinks! Thank you!!
Really nice staff. The food was good. The atmosphere is quaint. But it’s the staff. They are awesome. Very nice and accommodating. I’d come back for the service alone.
Great complimentary plate before meal, large food portions.
First time try in the off season tried in the summertime 2hr wait
Great Italian dinner.
We had a wonderful time. Food was outstanding. Jason(bartender)... terrific.
We had not been to Baci in probably 10 years. The locals have been saying that is pretty good so we thought we would give it a try. Was not disappointed. Food was good and so was the service. It was not busy on a Saturday night. Do not know what the service would have been like if they would have been busy as we only saw 3 servers. We got an an antipasto plate a cup of lobster bisque compliments of the chef which was good. We will dine there again.
Charged my credit card 3x for our meal. Then wrote down my credit card number to possibly charge again later? Told me they were having trouble with their credit card machine. ALSO... very loud guy in bar area yelling the F-word many times. I asked that someone talk to him, they said, they did talk to him, but he continued to tell and throw out bad language. We will not be back... and I’m worried about my credit card exposure.
Food was delicious and love the updates to decor! We love Baci and will come back as often as possible. It is pricey, but well worth it! The stuffed shells were so good!
Delmonico steak was a bit fatty. However, loved the lobster ravioli !
The entire staff works to make your dining PERFECT!
Much better this time. I left a pretty scathing review after our last visit so I wanted to update. The only reason we decided to return was because they were offering 1,000 points on Open Table and we wanted something quick and cheap and convenient. The service was much better this time, and even more notably, the food was much improved. The same side salad: night and day. Fresh lettuce, with radish and carrot and cucumber and other toppings that were nowhere to be seen last time. Lovely presentation. The pasta was good too (I had the carbonara). Though my husband had the spicy pasta, which I must say, was offensively spicy. I don't think most people would be able to tolerate that level of spice. They did warn him that it was "really spicy" though, so we can't really complain. Pleased to see such an improvement in about a month's time!
We were so horrified by the outside and entrance of the building we didn't even bother to have dinner. It's an extremely sketchy dark feeling. Not a place to have a dinner date or dinner either. I prefer being able to see who I'm eating with. Felt like a low end dead night club.
Who would expect to find dining like this at a Comfort Inn? Sorry Comfort Inn... There is no sign out front and so you have to know where you are going. My daughter and I both got a filet that came with a salad, asparagus, and gratin potatoes. They also brought an amazing bread, olives, and cheese. OH, I almost forgot... they also sent out a decent portion of an awesome pasta ("compliments of the chef"). Our filets were cooked to perfection! A little char on the outside and medium rare center. I wish that I did not live so far away or I would frequent this restaurant often. It is a sad that there is apparently no marketing for this restaurant as it was less than 1/4 full of guest. I highly recommend this restaurant!!!
I don't always write negative reviews when I'm not impressed with a restaurant, but had to say something this time. This place has 4.5 stars according to OpenTable and TripAdvisor. That's a joke. Lesson learned: the reviews are relative to the area and the clientele. So, because there are no virtually other restaurants in the area, people think this is good.
The chef did send out an amuse-bouche (a free small bowl of lobster bisque to start), which we appreciated. From there it was downhill. The server came back about 15 minutes after we placed our orders, asking us to repeat them because she'd forgotten. Strike one. I asked for my salad dressing on the side. It came swimming in dressing. Strike two. Beneath all the dressing, the lettuce was sub-par anyway; I couldn't even eat it. I had asked for my pasta with the Diavolo sauce. Our server discouraged me from ordering that, saying it was too spicy. She explained that the chef simply adds crushed red pepper to the marinara sauce to make the Diavolo (I'm no chef, but is that really the only difference?!) and said she would bring me some crushed red pepper on the side (which you should get anyway, along with Parmesan .. there was no offer for either). She forgot the crushed red pepper until I was nearly finished eating. Strike three.
The food was so-so, not terrible but nothing special at all. I hate to be snooty, but anyone rating this 4.5 stars: I loath to see what you think is 2 or 3 stars. Blech!! Come on, let's keep OpenTable reviews accurate or they're no good to anyone!
Simply awesome! I am a very hard person to please when it comes to dining out,but this little gem hidden in a hotel is without a doubt one of the most pleasurable restaurants that I have been in many years.Right down from the menu selection to the quality and quantity and my waitress was one of the most helpful and friendliest I have ever had the pleasure of waiting on my family.I am actually considering driving 120 miles from home just to enjoy another fine meal. The atmosphere was also top notch. The only depressing issue was that there was only one other couple dining at 6:00.I hope the Baci Club remains open for many years to come.I will be sure to dine there again next time I am vacationing in Sandusky.
Our dinner for 5 people was delightful. The food was excellent and plentiful. Amy , our waitress was very good. We will be back.
It was great food and a lot of it!
We always think to go to Baci's for special occasions. The food is always excellent, the portions are very generous and the complimentary items they offer before your meal is a nice touch. We plan on not waiting for another special occasion to go back and choose them in place of the chain restaurants that are found along Rt 250.
Skip it. Out of limoncello, cannoli, brunello, found a valpollicella and brought it out opened. Food OK. Smelled like cleaning fluid.
Food was amazing as usual! We recommend this place to all our friends. The only thing I would suggest is when waitresses tell you fish of the day they should met you know how it's prepared. My husband got the swordfish and it came steamed when he thought it would have been grilled. Knowing that he would have chosen something different. However, it was still good.
Another great meal! Our friends were first timers here and absolutely loved the food. Our waitress was very good also.
Not a romantic dinner place but the food is good . We had the scallops and the beef tenderloin. Scallops were well prepared and tender . Tenderloin was a little under done from what we asked for but it actually turned out very good and tender.
We experienced another excellent outing at Baci Restaurant & Bar. Our server (Carlos) was amazing - a friendly smile, polite, and very efficient. Our meals were cooked to perfection (scallops dinners and Delmonico steak dinners). The ambiance was wonderful. The only negative part of our dining experience was that the 5:30 p.m. reservation I made online for our party of 4 specifically requested that we wanted to be seated in a BOOTH, not a table. When we arrived at 5:25 p.m., we were told there were no booths available. We chose to wait for a booth to open up so we were not seated until after 6:00 p.m. On a positive note, the hostess was very apologetic and kept us informed on how long we would wait for our booth. Overall, we highly recommend Baci Restaurant & Bar.
I highly recommend it, excellent service, excellent food
Delicious food. Great value. If you leave here hungry it is your own fault.
Was in town overnight and showed up just as the kitchen was about to close. Cook and wait staff had no problems taking care of me. One of THE best steaks I have ever had, without question. Highly recommend!
The food was excellent and the service was superb. Three course meals. And the first course appears immediately. Have to try it!!!!
Since I am seasonal in OH I try to make it your way at least once summer. This year it was three times and I enjoyed them all.
Arrived 9:50 to be told that the kitchen is closed at 10 so I can't order food. Why they didn't mention that earlier
We meet friends for dinner every year at Baci and we are never disappointed. The food seems to just keep coming so that by the time the entree comes we can (almost) not eat it! From the special spreads for the bread, to the pasta course, to the delicious salad and the great variety of entrees, everything is delicious. The only thing we've never tasted is the dessert because we've never had room! We highly recommend Baci for a special dinner.
The food was amazing and service was very knowledgeable. It is in the Comfort Inn and kind of hidden. It is not a typical hotel restaurant. It is very high quality food and beautiful bar with a drink menu to match.
