What started out as a casual deli and bakery has evolved into a full-service eatery with menus that feature a variety of traditional and southern-style dishes.     Our reservation was a 5, so no problem with seating, etc. Champagne was our server. Very pleasant, courteous and knowledgeable. Our only complaint on the food was the risotto which wasn't actually risotto. More vegetables on a bed of rice. Missing the creaminess of true risotto.

    Our dinners were delicious and service was excellent. We have eaten at other restaurants nearby and B. Matthews is superior. We ate there for breakfast too and it was great. It was a highlight of our overnight stay in Savannah.

    Sara, also bartender, was great, very pleasant and knowledgeable. Food was excellent- salmon, beets, Caesar salad, crab cakes.

    My family and I are from Florida and come to town once a year. Hands down my favorite restaurant in Savannah, everything on the menu is 🔥🔥🔥. Fried green tomatoes are my favorite app and Shrimp and grits are the go to for brunch. Service is friendly and they do a great job of reaching out and following up. Highly recommend.

    What an amazing find! Service was amazing! The chef is incredible and as a result our meals were so delicious! This 1800 home which has been converted to a restaurant is such a great setting. Don’t miss out and make a reservation! You won’t be disappointed!

    Had great drinks and an entree. Appetizer dish (beets) was very dry and very bland. Waitress never ask about my dishes, I had to ask someone else for a salt shaker. And at the end she just left the bill, before I even had a chance to ask for dessert menu. There was no thank you from her either. Other than that, I’ll give this place another try. Banana espresso martini was to die for!

    Our server was so welcoming, helpful and friendly! Our food was excellent! This was my second visit to Savannah. I brought my sister this time. Going to B. Mattews was a MUST!

    Delicious food, excellent service, great portions, accommodated our gluten allergy well. Plenty of drink options, but not like some Savannah spots that are counting on you to booze your way through subpar entrees. Great spot for a date, family meal, or a small gathering of friends. I Recommend the Fried Green Tomatoes, and at $25, the Shrimp and Grits delivers on savory value.
