Only thing I've got to say is that we are sad that one of our favorite places to go is closing, very sad for us and all our friends that we've told them about how good it is.
This was our third dining experience at B&T. My wife and I also dined at Roe which was exceptional. This time was for my wife's birthday. We had friends join us, and everyone was pleased with the food. The only flaw in the experience was the spilt oyster water all over the birthday girl when one of the server's was clearing our table. No bueno! We're sad to hear they are closing. We love oysters, and it's not always easy to find a good spot for them. B&T will be missed by us!!!!
Excellent food quality but not pricing. Ambient is for special occasion enviroment.
Found this gem via Yelp! My friend from out of town wanted Oysters - which I'm not a fan of - but the menu here has a nice balance of other sea goodies to choose from. The tuna sashimi dish with wasabi ranch was AMAZING!
It was my friends birthday. He was very pleased by the seafood, especially the oysters on the half shell. Yum so fresh and so good.
Service was great too!!
The ambience and the setting were lovely, cool music and a great decor. We ordered the oysters and crab rolls which were very flavorful. We also ordered the shrimp tempura, but it was disappointing. We will not be coming back because while the food was pretty good, the portions were TINY and way too expensive for the size. I was left hungry and I had the smallest appetite. For example, the "popcorn" shrimp is $18 USD but you only get 2 shrimps out of it! Very strange and disappointing.
The oysters were wonderful and our small plates were tasty.
Went for the oysters and loved everything else we ordered.
Excellent quality of fresh oysters, with great pointers from the knowledgeable staff on how to best enjoy. We tried out some specials as well, also amazing, so don't forget to check out those. And the rock shrimp, set a whole new standard of how fried shrimp should be done! A perfect ending to all the fresh treats we shared.
I first brought my husband here for his birthday last year and we fell in love! We've been back a few times and have recommended it to friends, we've had oysters in a lot of places but these are the best by far, tastes just like they came out of the ocean!! Yummy so good!!
This is one of the only places in town I can get my oyster AND seafood fix. I'm from the east coast where ordering a dozen at a time is the norm and Block and Tackle always has a great list of options to choose from and a good happy hour (otherwise, can get pretty expensive). Awesome environment, wine pairings and menu options. They take reservations too, which is super helpful as well. I do miss Wafu though (bring it back)!
I went to B&T and got the chef's menu. All the oyster courses were fabulous! The rest of the menu could have been a bit more interesting, but the pasta with pistachios is just killer!
Really like this place. The food is always great, the menu is always evolving, and I just love slurping oysters! Great place to snack on quality seafood.
I was extremely excited to take my boyfriend here for his birthday. We love oysters and dine out often in search of the best oysters. The oysters here were very good. However, I was disappointed with other aspects of our dining experience. One of the only entrees offered on the menu, the lobster pot pie, the one I wanted, was sold out. The service was very slow. I like to take my time and enjoy my food but we were there for way too long. Also, my after dinner coffee was cold and when I sent it back it was obvious that my server just microwaved it. The cup was so hot on return that I seriously burnt my lip. The oysters and the kale were amazing but I could unfortunately only give this restaurant 3 stars. This is the first review I've ever written on anything. I just couldn't not say anything. I was dissappointed.
My dinner was excellent, starting with an oyster shooter and grilled oysters which were out of this world, with a main course of steelhead fillet served over clams and mussels. My companion for dinner had a more mixed experience, and her salad had quite a bit too much dressing on it, leading to eating the last part of the salad out of a pool of dressing. She also had the lobster pot pie, their signature dish, and was unimpressed with the crust and with the amount of lobster in it. We topped this all off with a spectacular Earl Grey tea custard, which should not be missed.
I'd say try this restaurant, especially the oysters. The level of service was outstanding and, notwithstanding too much dressing on the salad, the food was great. If this will be an issue for your, I'm sure the salad dressing could be provided on the side.
We stopped in at B&T Oysters for an appetizer before moving on to Bar Avignon for dinner. Had a dozen delicious oysters (4 kinds) and a couple glasses of French bubbly. Will definitely go back for a full dinner. The menu looked great and the service was wonderful. Glad they're around.
