Excellent service and great food. We sat on the patio and enjoyed the beautiful view while enjoying our dinner.
Wow!! Aura is fabulous and one of the best dinners we've ever had and we live in a foodie city (Portland, Oregon). Inventive chef and great presentation...attentive but not overbearing service. Gorgeous setting with the harbor and patio. I had the halibut and my daughter had the fried sushi and a salad. Outstanding on both!! Would love to come back next time we visit Victoria!!
Excellent recommendations from the waiter. The restaurant has both an excellent view of the Inner Harbour and superb food.
Staff was friendly and knowledgeable in food and wine served. Reservation process smooth and accommodating. Noise level was elevated from close proximity to other guests and no music- or at least wasn’t loud enough to add to a better ambiance. Food was phenomenal :)
Our dinner at Aura was one of the highlights of our trip to Victoria. The ingredients were fresh, excellently prepared and delicious! I had never enjoyed oysters; the local oysters were delicious. The chocolate dessert paired with the port was divine.
First time in this restaurant. Good presentation. Everything we ordered was so good and different. The waiter was very friendly and efficient. Can’t wait to go back to try other dishes on the manu .
The food was cooked perfectly but served cold. When that was pointed out to the staff there was not a lot of concern. Disappointed
We celebrated our 43rd wedding anniversary on the patio. Excellent food and excellent, personal, service. Aura is our favourite patio restaurant and we’ll be back .
A pleasant meal in a a nice dining room with fabulous view.
The salmon was delicious and nicely presented, the halibut was over cooked.
The Bar dessert was heavenly!
Food, service and ambiance were all fantastic. Kate (our server) made the experience that much more special. Only complaint, Mocktails were not mixed properly (all the sugar was on the bottom). Overall, excellent.
Father’s Day brunch was a success! The food was amazing and the service was impeccable.
Great food and wonderful service. We loved the entire experience.
The food was great as always. We are always amazed at the chef’s creations. The maitre d, Robin, is extremely knowledgeable about wines and food pairings and always a pleasure to talk with. We’ve been coming here a few years now.
The one thing that is lacking is the service. While not in a hurry it was very slow. In fact, recently we were there for happy hour and again, the service was slow. We only ordered oysters and it took a long time to get them. It wasn’t terribly busy either.
My steak was grisly and not cooked to order. Appetizers were great. Venue and atmosphere or in synk with its high price. The food wasn’t. Management very responsibly refunded my entrée
Excellent service and ambiance. Food was outstanding. We had a great time.
Outstanding view, staff and presentation. Close to everything in Victoria.
Delicious food at a reasonable price. The patio has a lovely view. The staff is attentive and professional.
The food was amazing with a very distinct Asian influence. We would definitely dine there again soon!
The food was good but food took so long to arrive, despite the restaurant being pretty empty. 45 minutes to appetizer and an hour and a half to main course.
We would like to thank all the wonderful and friendly staff who made our anniversary evening so very special. From the moment we arrived, we felt welcomed.
The kind attention that we received from all the staff, made us feel very special.
Our table overlooking the waterfront made for an unforgettable evening.
Our dinner was delicious and we very much appreciated the surprise brioches with a special entree.
And last but not least, we were surprised by a specially made "Happy Anniversary" chocolate slab, which was placed on the plate with our tasty dessert.
A warm thank you also to our kind Mexican waiter who served us like we were the King and Queen!
After this lovely evening, we will make a point to come back sooner, and not wait another year.
Looking forward very much to our next visit.
Ate at the AURA for our anniversary. Our waitress was Jennifer who was very efficient and took care to explain and answer all of our question. She was very attentive without being intrusive. We enjoyed our meal and visit and will surely return.
Friends get together. Great manager. Waitress could have been more welcoming.
Never had a less than fabulous meal here--very consistent and the service is special.
We had a fabulous breakfast at AURA. Our food was quick, hot and very flavourful. Our server Kate was very friendly, curtious and very attentive. It is obvious that this restaurant invests time in training their staff. View of the harbour was beautiful. Can't wait to go back!
Overall, It was a good evening.
The Service was exceptional....very detail oriented, observant and responsive.
Food selection was good, though some additional local product would be appreciated, particularly fresh pacific Salmon.
Food preparation was very creative and the presentation was incredible and intriguing.....flavors were good to very good, but not extraordinary related to the value.....in the end, the presentation outperformed the flavors..
I would definitely recommend this establishment for a sophisticated palate or persons looking for a different somewhat exciting dining experience.
I will return to see what changes or surprises the seasons bring
Small space , limited menu but we took seafood choice, which was excellent, taste and presentation were refined. A nice view of the innee harbour as well. A great night!
We looked at reviews to try to choose a special restaurant for our last night in Victoria. Unfortunately, we were disappointed by virtually every item that we ordered. The flavors were not cohesive, and the dishes seemed to be creative for creativity's sake, and not well thought it. Overall, disappointing.
innovative & delectable cuisine , excellent service , beautiful room
Our family recently had brunch at the Aura restaurant. It was extremely comfortable , had a gorgeous view of the harbour and with excellent service. The food was delicious and our various needs were catered to perfectly. In our party we had someone who was vegetarian, gluten free and dairy free. We will be back and tell our friends.
This was a great meal. It was also one of the best value meals we have ever had, given the quality of the food we were served; the Seacuterie dish in particular was superb. The dining area was pleasant, with super views over to the legislature as the sun began to set. In summer, the patio area will be a delightful place to eat. But the star of the show was the food; just great.
It was one of the most memorable meals we've ever had but not for good reasons. The steak with vegetable ash was dry, and well ashy tasting. I had to have another glass of wine to wash the gritty ash taste away. The 'bouilabaise' came nicely presented in a shallow helmet bowl with no broth. The server then poured the lukewarm sauce from a small decanter around the edges of the mound of shellfish. The 'sauce' only covered half the bowl, was tasteless and did nothing to compliment lovely local shellfish. I'm still not sure what the sauce was, in fact.
The chef is clearly over reaching and does not have the fundamentals down to support his or her creativity. He or she totally over works the food, forcing his or her imprint on it rather than letting the essence of the ingredients through.
Nice dining room and view. I'd recommend it for cocktails and wine.
My omelete was very good, potatoes slightly under cooked, juice had so much pulp I was chewing instead of drinking. My husband's fritatta was so dry and bland. The view was very nice and the service was great.
From best to worst. Was here last year and was really good. This year it’s terrible. No good appetizers- they used to have foie gras. Duck entree was at least half the size it was last year with no breast meat. Wine list is very poor. Sad to see.
The sommelier was very knowledgeable and friendly.
The service was exceptional.
The food presentation was top notch!
I would highly recommend this restaurant!
This is a wonderful restaurant, we went for a friends birthday and they do a wonderful dessert tray on request. When you book your reservation mention that you have a birthday and they will prep this beautiful tray of cakes and tasters that is well worth the price.
Took in the Sunday brunch. Staff were excellent and varied menu was much appreciated.
Went here largely because it was close to our hotel, and was very pleasantly surprised. Service was prompt and friendly without being intrusive. We were given a table at the window with a lovely harbour view. The seafood charcuterie was inventive and nicely presented, as were the mains. Definitely a recommend.
The food was amazing, creative and delicious. Service was well informed and pleasant. My only criticism is our table of 3 celebrating a birthday was seated next to a large, noisy party of 10 or more. Fortunately the restaurant wasn’t busy and they accommodated our request to move to a quieter area.
Nice quiet harbor view setting, but limited menu selection!
good food, good service, beef a little overcook, wine taste good and reasonable price, dessert good as well.
