We had an excellent mid-day meal on a Friday. We are so glad that Atwood is open and popular again, post-pandemic.
Atwood is a great place to dine while shopping or right before the theater. They were very accomodating with our special requests. The food was good. It is a light lunch/dinner menu. Our table of four had cream of tomato soup with a garnish of balsamic vinegar glaze, grilled bread, a short rib sandwich with Au jus accompanied with french fries, or a side salad. It was savory and delicious. The turkey club was beautifully plates and quite generous. The dinner salad was also very generous. Our server was very attentive and considerate.
I have eaten at Atwood pre-Theater in the past because we couldn’t I get in to our favorite places.
I like the new menu a lot and all the food was delicious. I had the chicken street tacos and they were tasty!
I will now return by choice.

Nothing was bad just an overpriced menu
The server was great. The kitchen undercooked the shrimp for the salad. The salads were small and under whelming.
A random Wednesday night before a show, the staff was great. The sign said beware of delays but I had no issues. Prob because I was the only one. Amazing location at the heart of the city

Ran out of pineapple juice, which is a staple for many of their drinks. Other than a pretty limited number of menu items, pretty good.
Bob the bartender was EXCELLENT!! The host was attentive with a great personality. Angel the waitress was BEST.
So glad you reopened! This has always been one of our favorite restaurant “go to’s” before the opera. Last Saturday, looking more for a dinner entree, we ordered the two choices on the menu du jour — the pappardelle and the hanger steak with chimichurri sauce and roasted fingerling potatoes. Delish! However, must say that everything we saw coming out of the kitchen looked fantastic. Plus, lots of nice wine choices and a generous pour as well. Knowledgeable, professional and friendly service. It wasn’t very crowded since things are just ramping up again, but suspect that will change quickly.
Night out for an event
Our waitress was super sweet and the food was delicious!
They were obviously short staffed but there was a sign at the entrance explaining the situation. This is totally understandable considering the pandemic. The staff was very attentive and pleasant. Menu is pretty limited especially for dinner as there are no entrees, just salads and sandwiches. Nice wine by the glass selection. I'm grateful Atwood is open as there are few pre-theater dinner options in the loop right now.
The service was nice and the drinks were good, but that was the saving grace. The menu was very limited, the food was subpar for the pricing, and the drinks were overpriced. It was disappointing.
The place looks great in the picture. Too small. The food was okay. We order a salad that has a protein selection. One of them is a prawn, but it was not a prawn. It was small shrimp. We order a bottle of Rose’, it took them 15 minutes to serve at our table. It was sitting at the service for 15 minutes. Then we order a side of French fries. The fries were the fast order we ever had but when we start eating them it was cold—very disappointing brunch for us.
The Atwood was a nice atmosphere and very friendly staff.

We were celebrating a last min city hall marriage and have them 15 min notice and when we arrived it felt very special-the entire staff went out of their way to help us celebrate and add to the memory of the special day. Plus, the food was great!
Atwood is my favorite place to go for lunch lately. I love the bright, airy room and the food is quite good. Service can be slow, but is always pleasant.

The menu was a nice surprise--- great options, and good prices. The service was excellent. Server very thoughtfulIy asked if we were attending theater ( many nearby the restaurant) and when was the show time. We will definitely go back again .

I haven’t been to Atwood in probably 6-7 years. I remember an excellent experience on my last visit.
This trip was decidedly different.
The restaurant is in desperate need of a refresh, especially the padded benches, which were severely worn and torn.
Food was average at best. There are many better choices in the area at the same price point.
Overall, it gives the impression of a restaurant that’s given up and is just counting on weekday lunches and pre-theater dining. I felt the need to apologize to my customer at the end of the evening.
With its location, Atwood should aspire to be so much more.

I will love this place forever. I made a reservation for Saturday brunch before a matinee performance in the Loop, with a request for a corner table near the windows to accommodate the sensitivities of my companion with autism.
It was crowded when we arrived, but we were shown to a table in the corner by the windows with a "reserved" tent card prominently displayed. Our server, Jackie, was exceptional. He was busy but very patient and accommodating, and seemed genuinely interested in communicating appropriately with an autistic person. He took every suggestion about what might appeal to my guest seriously. I was so relieved and appreciative that I would have eaten anything they put before me, so it was a delight that my smoked salmon Benedict was perfect, and the breakfast potatoes with it were sublime.
I'm also grateful that I learned from the experience - my companion ordered a salad with grilled chicken, and what came out was lovely, but gigantic - arugula piled in a mound on the plate. She ate her chicken but was overwhelmed by the size of the salad. This was not Atwood's fault - I now know to ask about the portion sizes. I finished the salad and it was excellent.
This is the first restaurant I have dined at where they seemed to genuinely considered a special request for accommodation for an autistic person. Thank you, Atwood, and server Jackie - you will be our go-to spot for every ladies' downtown excursion from now on.

We used to love the Atwood, and had many happy memories of meals enjoyed there. No longer. When it was redesigned, it became sterile, institutional. When we sat down, I noticed that the leather on the cushion was worn out; it was shabby. When I asked my server, Robert, to please (I am very polite to servers) make my fries crisp, he replied, "I don't cook them!" I know it was meant to be funny but it came off snarky. Service was slow to poor, overall. Our memories will have to remain memories - we won't be making new ones.

The Atwood as well as the hotel has been taken over by a hotel chain, Staypinapple. I don’t know when they took over but the Atwood is no longer the Atwood. From the menu, to the quality of the waitstaff, to all the placement of the obnoxious yellow which is a trademark of this change open parenthesesthis includes the menu in the wine list). The interior is otherwise the same, beautiful. It is in the historic Reliant building. The waitstaff now wears nametags little pineapples on them. We got a particularly poorly trained waiter who couldn’t describe the dishes or the wines. this poor guy sadly had four parties in a row seated at his station. The price is no longer match the quality of the food and the menu changes are atrocious. If you wish to be an upscale Bennigan’s in a hotel, so be it but everything else has to match. A chop salad, a Barada salad, a chicken salad sandwich, a burger, a crab cake sandwich, a hot chicken sandwich, Bennigan’s among many restaurants who’s menu this would fit on. Of the higher end stuff, I had the shrimp and grits. The portion was plentiful but other than the heat, possibly chili oil, the grits were flavorless and tasted like they were made with cream which made them overly heavy. At a table near us, someone had the carbonara. It looks like Alfredo. Having made carbonara before, I was think that the egg and especially the pancetta would have some visibility. Oh and all, pineapple in the Atwood need to figure out what they want to be. I’m thinking it placed in this opulent and beautiful building, they don’t want to be lowbrow but everything else says they are. Having been to the Atwood many times before, I will miss it in the classy hotel it was ensconced in.

Dinner after a BIC show for Valentines Day weekend.
I am not a fan of brunch, but overall the food was very good. The menu at brunch is limited. I did enjoy the chicken and waffles I had. It was both sweet and spicy. My friend had the omelette. I was surprised that it was stuffed with potatoes then served with more of them on the side. They happily switched this to fruit. Lively atmosphere. Great place for before or after theater.

Didn’t even get to eat. The waiter never came back around to ask us what we wanted. We waited 25 minutes before we got up and went somewhere else to eat. Wasn’t a big selection, wouldn’t recommend.
