Went on a Sunday. Brunch menu is limited and kind of simple. Not a lot to choose from. Asked for the lunch/dinner/late in the day menu instead and it was not that impressive either. Burgers, a few salads, some grits, some cheese. No main courses were offered. No chicken. No chop. No daily fish. It seems as if creating creative and interesting food with a nice variety is not the mission of Atwood on a Sunday. What we ate was fine: caesar salad, waffle and fried chicken, and not fine: pumpkin soup, but it was nothing amazing. Go for a neat place to hang out and some simple (albeit good) food, but don't go for a "dining" experience. Go on another day when the regular menu is available. Staff was wicked nice and the interior is really cool and makes for a nice place to hang out.

Terrible server. Barely made it to theatre for a show after shared when seated and ordering we needed to be out in an hour for a show. Ordered immediately, server forgot to input drink order and I believe dinner too. Took over 40 minutes for meal to come out and I was told it was because I asked for my salmon to be fully cooked. You have got to be kidding!!!!

No time for dessert and was celebrating a birthday which I communicated at reservation.

Manager was very helpful, but had to intervene.

The restaurant is beautiful, with great ambiance. I love to have a drink and look out the windows to see all the hustle and bustle. But the inside has its own viewing party going on. The drinks were delicious but the food was just ok. We ordered ribeyes and were surprised at how thin they were, they were done as ordered but had an off fake grill flavor.

We loved the Atwood when it was in the Burnham hotel, but the current version is a huge disappointment. Weak coffee, unseasoned food, lack of condiments. Only good point is the architecture: large windows thanks to Atwood himself, and view of State Street. We will not return.

Had a wonderful dinner. The server asked us which table we would like, he was concerned because I didn’t want to be chilly. I ordered the steak, it was cooked perfectly. My husband had the Mahi it also was excellent. The wedge salad was big enough for two. We were to full for desert. Definitely would go back, 90 minutes for dinner. No problem getting to the play on time.

Drinks were brought to the table after entrees. Entrees were overpriced for what they served. The salmon salad was a meager portion of salmon. Half of the desserts were not available. Pumpkin tart with marshmallow tasted like it have been around for days. Simply cannot recommend this place. Good location to meet and go somewhere else.

Atwood Cafe is so different than the last time we were there. It used to be a classy festive place in the heart of the loop. With the renovations... it has become a casual cafe with no classy atmosphere and way overpriced!.. we paid over $70.00 for a hamburger and a grilled cheese sandwich.. My husband had a glass of wine and I had an Irish Coffee. We definitely won’t be returning.

i had gone to Atwood many times under the previous management.
The updated decor is nice.
Great options on the new menu but most of it was just ok. The mushroom risotto was very bland, the mahimahi was overcooked but tasted good. The flatbread and roasted brussel sprouts were very good. Great mixed drink list, we all tried different types and liked them all, except a little pricey for the size of the glass. Our server and support staff were wonderful!!
I love the location and maybe next time will come for drinks and appetizers

I have had bad meals before, but never before an experience where dinner went completely missing. Yesterday I attempted to dine at Atwood before a long-awaited theater reservation, party of 6. I told staff the day before that we had a curtain to make, and they promised to note this. When we arrived I reiterated to the maître-d and the waitress that we had a curtain to make - we were assured with an hour and 45 minutes that we would have plenty of time and had no reason to doubt this. Drink and food orders were taken within 10 minutes of arriving and over an hour and a half before curtain. About 40 minutes before curtain, we started to grow concerned about our missing food, but were assured it was minutes away. 15 minutes before curtain - well over an hour after ordering and with no food in sight -- we had to leave to make the show, angry and very hungry. I have left a message for the manager to complain and am waiting for a return call, but I can only wonder what the meal would have been like. If you have theater tickets in the area, I strongly suggest you go somewhere else until Atwood fixes whatever problems they had in their kitchen last night.

Way too small! Too noisy! Horrible menu. I ordered the pumpkin soup and it was waaay to spicey!! I asked for bread of some kind. The server said I had to buy my bread off the menu. $6 is nothing, but when the bread came it was 3 huge logs of focaccia. Wasn't good. My friend ordered the crab cakes and didn't care for them either. We each ordered wine and when it came, I asked her if she was certain that mine was the Pinot Grigio and my friend's was Chardonnay. They were not she got them confused. I sent my soup back. Not good!!

The lovely Atwood restaurant underwent an expensive makeover but can't afford a real chef now! I went to the Atwood for a business lunch and was served pale, white risotto and a salmon Caesar salad so anemic - I didn't know it was food on my plate. The salmon was definitely canned fish and was spread around processed leaves of romaine lettuce and really stale, boxed croutons. I can do better at the salad bar around the corner! My colleague had a risotto that looked like rice and creamed milk with flecks of mushroom. It was truly sad given the quality dishes that the Atwood used to serve. It felt like 2 steps above a fast food salad. If you're desperate, this will pass for the area but recommend going to Trattoria No. 10 for an exceptional, fine dining lunch experience.

This is a favorite restaurant, which I have valued for their skill at layering wonderful flavors. Tonight was an odd night off. The pumpkin soup lacked flavor. The beautifully thick pork chop had to be sent back because it was mostly raw. They did cook another one from scratch, which was well done. They did apply a discount to this dish, but the delay at waiting for the replacement plate caused me to be eat my entrée after my husband had finished his. He had to wait for his dessert course until I was ready for it. All this meant that we were rushed in order to get to our event on time.
