Overall great dinner and experience. For one dinner, the Parmesan Crisp, included with filet mignon, was not edible, as it was hard and tough to the point it could not be cut with the steak knife.

Overall, an excellent restaurant. Been there numerous times. Did not appreciate the waiter asking for our complete order just after drinks were served (which we did not do), stating that this is what the kitchen prefers. Muscle appetizer was very good, main courses were also very good. Corn fritters were dry and boring.

The food was outstanding! The Ahi Tuna and the mussels were outstanding. However, we were seated outside. When we asked to be moved inside, the woman told me they were completely booked inside. BUT I made a reservation on-line---that was the mistake! I needed to call she said. Then why does Atwater offer on-line reservations if they cannot fulfill them? It was disappointing at best. There had been a wedding photography session right in front of us with a drone! A bit noisy and chaotic. Not the ambiance or evening we were looking for at all.

Service extremely slow. Disappointed that the Caesar salad was too dry and the salmon on top seemed like warmed up from the day before. Not a place I’ll ever eat this dish at again. My table-mates had better tasting dishes. Not one complaint from them. Guess I ordered the wrong thing.

Sunday early reservation, so it was not busy. Small dining room, with view to Fox river. Very relaxing and comfortable. Simple dinner menu, and food was excellent. Three courses, Crab cake appetizer, cream vegetable soup and filet were excellent. I think the best coarse was the soup. Wife had the walleye fish and she was raving about it, and she is not always a fan of fish. Service was on top of everything and cocktails a little strong which is ok. Will go again for sure.

Brunch outside in a beautiful courtyard overlooking the river. The pecan pancakes were the best we have had. Robert, our server, was able to recommend a salad that was not on the menu but that the kitchen was able accommodate. Great place to dine after the French market.

Asked to change tables after someone left. Didn’t change the plates glass or silverware after touched by previous guests. Asked a “ busboy” to reset and shared that he’s from Another country and can’t hear yet spoke perfect English. That was such an odd response. Then through down the silverware to get the hostess. Who was very nice. Shared with server, Floyd, that we would like to split two dishes and asked if the chef and split them. Though I didn’t ask for one plate, seemed obvious, we where brought 4 plates making the table crowded Server came back once to see if we liked our food, then. Or until we where done. I would have liked a second cocktail. Very pore experience for Atwater’s.

We have dined here many times, while food was good, 2 of our party ordered shrimp dish which was the special of the night and it was not great, with very chewy shrimp. We are hopeful it was just a misstep and not a trend.

Came to celebrate the birthday with friends and had a very nice, slow, low pressure meal punctuated with some excellent wine. (I hate being rushed at meals by staff to turn tables!). Seafood special was especially good. Expensive for sure, but a great night had by all.
