Atardi allows you to sit back and connect with all your senses as you listen to the sound of the ocean. Atardi [formerly Simply Fish] Ratings and Reviews
Valentine’s Day dinner on the beach in Aruba could have been a complete washout as the clouds opened up but our attentive and excellent waitstaff more than stepped up to the challenges of the night. We were quickly moved to a more protected area and to make sure we were comfortable wrapped in warm, clean tablecloth “shawls “. Our delicious dinner was served with smiles and in a timely manner.
Our second visit during our 11 day stay on the island. Started our vacation here our first night after flights in from Las Vegas and New York. As we are staying on the Marriott properties it's a perfect way to unwind, sitting barefoot with your feet in the sand, watching the ocean, after the long and sometimes difficult journey to get here. Enjoyed our first visit so much, even though the beef tenderloin was tough, we decided to come back again. Reservation for our second visit was made only a couple of days before we wanted to eat there and the table that we were given was in a spot were we felt gusts of wind the whole time we were dining. To top it off our meal was given to another table and no one seemed to realize this until our waiter walked by and saw we still did not have our entrees. He found out what had happened. His service was excellent. As were the scallops. If this had been our first visit here I'm not sure if we would have returned.
The food was delicious. Ambiance was excellent, you dine with your feet in the sand with candlelight. Definitely recommend scheduling your dinner around sunset. We went on our first night in Aruba for my husband's birthday and it was the perfect romantic place to celebrate him.
In August, we had such a great experience we made reservations with our friends for our last dinner together on Feb.3. First, we arrived early and sat at the bar where we were ignored by 2 different bar tenders the younger of which was dancing to the music provided and reading his phone with his back to us. We made eye contact, but he just looked away several times. He finally fixed my husband a vodka tonic that was not a vodka tonic. Maybe a vodka and club soda? My husband told this young man it tasted wrong and he argued that he had put lots of vodka in it. The “tonic” in this drink had no bubbles. He showed us the button he used in a glass that had plenty of bubbles. My husband’s had none. We were treated as if we had inconvenienced him. We were then seated at a table next to a cigar smoker on the public beach. After telling the girl who seated us that my girlfriend is allergic to smoke, we changed seats. Our waiter was VERY slow all evening. Our drinks were not delivered all at the same time. We had to ask for the martini after the rest of us had finished our drinks. It took nearly 3 HOURS to complete our meals. The scallops were burnt and needed a steak knife to cut. The whole experience was so incredibly disappointing after we raved about this restaurant from our August meal. We will never go back and warn others that this very expensive restaurant is certainly not worth visiting.
My wife and I scheduled this for our 20th Anniversary based on reviews that we read/received. It was great to be having dinner on the beach and the ambiance was fantastic. The service was also good. My wife had lobster which she said was very good. I had the crab salad and Sea Bass for my main meal. Sea Bass was undercooked and tasted funny. Not a good meal for me.
Located on beach at Marriott would be very romantic except for large families with lots of children
Food was excellent
I had a macadamia encrusted grouper with bok Choy in a red curry sauce was outstanding. My husband had the same and we shared burrata with arugula and tomatoes in a balsamic vinaigrette . We love this restaurant and would highly recommend
Ambiance is outstanding. Time your reservation to coincide with sunset. Had a 6:45 and the view was gorgeous for another hour. Had a jazz musician playing as well.
Had grouper; spouse the lobster. We were commenting today that we didn’t remember what came with our meals, nor what we had for dessert. Service was somewhat mechanical, although cordial.
PP for us was approximately $100USD including tip. Two glasses of wine and one cocktail total. Entrees are pricey.
Overall, very nice, just not exceptional.
Service was poor except when the wind blew over our water and drinks twice and they had to change the table linens. On the beach so it was romantic but it was windy. We are in Aruba I realize that!! I would probably return but know to hold onto your drinks when the wind blows!!!!
Whilst on Aruba we found this delightful restaurant and because the food was excellent and the service outstanding we ate there three times for dinner during our 12 day stay. It is not cheap but in line with many of the restaurants in this area in terms of price but well worth a visit. We were looked after by Astrubal and Mercedes, who welcomed us back by remembering our names and taking a lot of time to describe the menu and making us feel very welcome. Thank you. Thoroughly recommend this place, especially for the variety of fish dishes.
We very much enjoyed our dinners at Atardi. We returned two other nights during our week's stay at the Marriott Resort. The setting is unbeatable: tables are placed on the sand just a few feet from the water's edge. The view of the sunset is spectacular. There is live music. (Each night we were there, there was one talented vocalist or instrumentalist performing with recorded tracks. All three made a nice addition to the atmosphere.) The menu is mostly seafood, but there are beef and lamb options as well. We enjoyed most the tuna "carpaccio," the shrimp starter, the sea bass, and the scallop entree. Portions seem large, and we did not have room for dessert either visit. But we nevertheless ordered a serving of the coconut cake, and it was very good, even though there was more mousse than cake; not complaining.
We were seated at a table for two as close to the water as you could get without getting your feet wet. So relaxing to hear the movement of the water as you enjoy some fabulous fresh fish. A beautiful presentation illuminated by some unusual table lights. The live music in the background was the perfect accompaniment to this romantic setting. The smooth voice of the singer/trumpet player presenting old standards added another layer to this perfectly beautiful setting.
We had a beautiful dinner here on our second night in Aruba. So far it has been our favourite place to dine.
Tables are on th beach and you enjoy a gourmet meal with your toes in the sand literally steps away from the calm ocean. The service was excellent and we also enjoyed live music. Can’t get any better than this!
We have been to Aruba for many years and stay at the Marriott. I always placed Madame Janette’s as the number one place. I dined at both this year and Atardi is the best. The Macadamian Grouper is awesome and the service is great. Relax and enjoy the sunset — this is not a quick meal but worth every second.
