   Aspen is a hidden gem among the restaurants here in Old Saybrook. From the moment you walk in you're greeted with a warmth that carries over into the entire dining experience. Our server, Christine, whom we have had take care of us many times is the quintessential example of how hospitality and service were meant to be. She reads the room. Makes great suggestions! Her timing is impeccable. We decided on small plates last night and as always, Aspen did not disappoint! I highly recommend the grilled romaine salad! Next we had our favorite, the wild mushroom crepe. Delicate and wonderful flavors. Finally, we shared the appetizer of the day which was grilled lamb chops over a Gorgonzola polenta - exquisite! If you are looking for a great place to dine, make Aspen your next reservation

   The staff is always so friendly and helpful and goes out of their way to make our experience amazing. We couldn’t stop talking about the delicious food and incredible service!

   Chef was very accommodating to make us a vegan risotto that was not on the menu. We also had the very large Market Salad and Kale and Fennel Salad and both were excellent Our only comment would be that the risotto was slightly undercooked so the rice was not as creamy as it could be Drinks were good and our bartender Felicia was wonderful

   Interesting and varied menu. Offers small plates as well as appetizers, nice selection of entrees. Very nice dessert selection without being overly sweet. Good wine list. Would definitely return. Pleasant and prompt service.

   This is one of my wife and my go to restaurants. We went for Mother’s Day and were disappointed in the veal dish we both had. We love veal saltimbocca dish at Italian restaurants but this dish was a little different with brown gravy. The issue was the veal wasn’t thin and pounded so it was tough. It didn’t melt in your mouth. We wanted to try something different and it didn’t work. We will go back to our go to menu items

   Great food. Some areas were cold due to AC but our server moved us to a better location. Duck was wonderful and the Chocolate Truffle was the best I ever had. Price reasonable for what you get.

    A very nice moderately priced restaurant with creative and well prepared dishes. It's a bit hard to find with GPS, but worth it!
