Owner, Ashley Van Camp, and award winning chef, Matthew Hannon, work with area farmers daily to procure the best that the Sandhills and North Carolina have to offer.     We are first timers to Ashten’s celebrating our anniversary. Picked this stop looking at other internet reviews and friends who previously visited. The food was top notch and very well presented. Staff was amazing and our waiter knew the menu front to back with recommendations. We ended up having 3 appetizers (Rueben egg-rolls, artichoke hearts and ostrich meatballs, 2 entrees (duck and salmon), 2 desserts vanilla bean creme brûlée, and drinks (Ashton’s old fashioned and cherry blossom). Definitely worth the visit especially for special occasions and date night with your significant other. My wife and I were thoroughly impressed. Brownie points Ashtens!

    No one does salmon better than Ashten's. One of us had the salmon dinner and two of us had sal mon added to the Ashten's salad. All were outstanding. The salmon filet on the salad was about the same size as the dinner portion. The other member of our party had the shrimp over peach risotto and raved about it for the rest of the night. We ate in the pub and got a high table. (Be careful since some of the tables are at couch level and can be too low.) You will not be disappointed in either the food or the drink selections.

    What a wonderful experience dining at Ashten's last evening. Our table was ready upon our arrival and the server was patient and friendly throughout. We throughly enjoyed the atmosphere, the beverages and the delicious food!

    We celebrated our anniversary. The blistered priest farm shishito peppers were absolutely delicious! Perfect blend of spices. My husband had the pan seared Salmon and I had the lamb special. Both were excellent! Only critique the air conditioning caused the room to be a little too cold for me. Definitely will be back.

    Another fantastic experience at Ashten’s. Their redfish was superb and their duck was delicious. Love what the chef pairs with the entrees. Also, get the peaches and crème brûlée!

    Very fun place. Great food and drinks. I always stop in when I'm in southern pines. They put up with our rowdy golf group. Would be nice if they invested in adding espresso martini's to the menu.

    Four and a half stars. Had a lovely Anniversary dinner last night at Ashston’s in Downtown SOP. Madison welcomed us with a warm welcome and smile. I requested a quiet table next to a window but was given a very small tight space two top next to the entry wall where the staff was talking loudly at the podium. My Husband had an Old Fashion which was made well and I had a Manhattan served in a classic, old style Champagne, glass. Both drinks were very good and Ashton’s uses the correct Dark cherries for their cocktails. Appetizers: the Artichoke Pops were delicious and perfect flavors and dipping Aioli. The Ostrich meatballs were also delicious; however, the cucumber side was missing flavor, the presentation on both were were well done and pleasing to the eye. The Duck was perfect and every bite made me happy and was full of great flavors. My Husband had the pork Chop which was perfectly cooked, tender and delicious. Both portions were very generous and I get to enjoy my leftovers today. We had the Baked Alaska for dessert which was very good. The presentation was not spectacular like the one at the Carolina Room or on a Cruise Ship of days gone by, but it was delicious and we ate every bite. I love that they are Farm to Table. The curtains as a privacy screen in the ladies room is not very private and space is small. I’m very petite so it was still small for me but it was lovely and they do a nice job job on elegant decor. I hope you enjoy Ashton’s.

    If you're looking for a place with great ambiance to take business associates or your loved ones for a good dinner, this is the place. The Pub dining area is my favorite and truly exemplifies everything Ashten's is.

    I have lived in Moore County my whole life and had never tried Ashten’s. We were very impressed by the food. To start, we had the artichoke heart pops and they were delicious. For an entree, I had the chicken and it was to die for. It was seasoned perfectly and so moist. The cornbread, pimento cheese, and field pea succotash paired very well with it. My husband had swordfish with rice, curry, and chips. He cleaned his plate. We tried the peach crème brûlée and let me tell you, it hit #1 on the brûlée chart. Overall, we had a fantastic night and would recommend Ashtens to anyone visiting southern pines or who lives here and has never tried it.

    Went to try their award winning Peach specials. Missed out on the drink, but got the entree and dessert…and wasn’t disappointed. Outstanding, as always. Great service, great food, well done Ashley and staff.

    Love the ambiance of Ashtens! Dining in the pub area is always a special treat with sofas, comfy living room type seating, soft lighting, artwork…always makes for a perfect night. Very much appreciate the menu continues to have some of our favorite items…..Artichoke pops are always on my must have list !

    Classy spot in quaint and friendly downtown Southern Pines. Thoughtful cocktails, inspired wine list, and everything we ordered off the menu and among the day’s specials was perfect. Save room for the chocolate cake sprinkled with caramel but please save a piece for me! I’ll be back!

    I was really looking forward to trying this local farm-to-table place. We had a bit of a wait for our drink order to be taken after being seated and then they took a while to arrive. We ordered apps that were excellent - the artichoke poppers and a salad. Unfortunately, we then waited well over an hour for our entrees. The server did apologize multiple times for the long delay but gave no explanation. When our food finally came the salmon was overcooked and salty. The ribeye was hard to chew. We were there for over 2.5 hours. The wait was ridiculous, and no one enjoyed their entrees. Very disappointing and frustrating experience at an expensive restaurant.

    Food was excellent. Our waitress was excellent. I was not happy with the hostess. We arrived on time for our table in the pub, but had to wait 20 minutes until we were seated. Another couple came in, stated they didn’t have a reservation and asked for a table for two. The hostess immediately sat them in the dining room with an open table. Why didn’t she offer this table to us? Generally my experience at this restaurant is positive. But if that happens again, I’ll be very direct with feedback.

    This is one of the go to places when visiting Southern Pines. The food, service and atmosphere is to notch. The special of the evening was sword fish and it along with the accompanying side dishes was awesome.

    It is always an excellent experience; cocktails were great, appetizers were fresh and packed with flavors, and the entrees - nobody does salmon as well as Ashten's does it. We will return!

    Had a wonderful experience with top rated service. The chicken was cooked perfectly and my husband said it was the best fish and chips he has had. The wine list was great and reasonably priced. We had a French Pinot Noir. Our favorite part of the meal was a decadent salted caramel chocolate cake. Just pure delicious!

    Started with yummy peach cocktails. and ordered some appetizers. Waitress immediately came back to order our entrees. Felt a little rushed. Food presentation was great but the proportions are HUGE! If we were to go back, we would share the dishes. Appetizers and entrees way too much food. I had the burrata which was on a bed of ratatouille….very tasty but enough for three people. Also had the duck. The duck was great but a huge mess of fried rice which was a little sweet and not to my liking. My husband had an appetizer of 7 large shrimp with a tomato dip. Very good but large. His redfish entree was delicious . Desert was gorgeous but enough for three. It was a dark chocolate cake with salted caramel icing. THAT is with the trip!

    We are new to the area and made a reservation at Ashten’s on recommendation from a friend to celebrate our daughter’s 29th birthday. Everything was top notch, from the service, food & ambience! I love chef’s that use locally sourced ingredients!! Everything we had was absolutely delicious! We look forward to returning and sitting in different areas of the restaurant. The decor is unique throughout the restaurant!!
