Always enjoy dinner and drinks at Ashten’s. Service and food are excellent.
My 12 year old daughter’s favorite restaurant. We come to Ashten’s every time that we visit Pinehurst. Love the fresh ingredients and seasonal dishes!
Second visit to Ashten's this time for a birthday celebration. We were seated at a proper table but on the bar storefront side of the restaurant. Noise from the bar area was more than desired for a nice dining experience. I appreciate the corkage policy and the reasonable $15.00 fee. Our waiter opened the bottle of Merlot we brought and poured each of us a small glass. My wife and I had the duck and my son the steak special of the day. Food came out freshly prepared and hot. The quality of the food was 5 star but the flavors relied too much on sweetness instead of savor on the duck. Service was adequate but not overly attentive.
Ashten’s is always a lovely experience! They have a great menu that satisfies everyone in our party from kids, to GF, to vegan, to hearty meat eaters. The service is excellent, the prices are reasonable, and we love the local fare!
Food and cocktails were great...service was a bit lacking. Dinner was a bit slow and dessert took 45 min so we were sorry we were foolish enough to order that...wished we skipped it because while tasty, it was anticlimatic. Worst of all, I had to ask about it, out server didn't think to keep us informed.
Mushroom fries are great for appetizer. Trout was wonderfully fresh and prepared perfectly. My friend loved the Fish and Chips and said she would order it again. We ate in the pub as we requested at a regular table. Good energy...although loud at times. Great experience!
Great place - be patient as the service can be short staffed
As usual, Ashten's continues to impress with quality seasonal dishes and inspired cocktails.
Wonderful food, service and ambience. True Farm to Table experience.
Outstanding dining experience. The greeter, wait staff, all were superbly professional and didn't pressure you to order. They offered the Specials. I had the roasted duck with Cheerwine glaze...yep totally awesome. The skin was crispy and meat was juicy and flavorful.
We were in Pinehurst for a ladies’ golf weekend. We found the restaurant on OpenTable and it was delicious. The wines by the glass were all blends and were excellent. Service was fast but not rushed. We ate in the front of the restaurant, which was a bit dressier than we expected but still great.
Too loud in the pub area!
I visit here twice a year from out of town. Is at
Least consistently good
Have celebrated many happy moments at Ashton’s a d this time was no different. I was only disappointed that at 7:00 there was no salmon available and that’s what I always order and one of the reasons I love coming to Ashton’s
Wait staff are knowledgeable and super friendly. Food is excellent.
Lovely restaurant! Wonderfully intimate and warm. The food was creative and well thought out. They really focus on the locally sourced aspect even the distilled spirits! Who knew Chapel Hill made a great vodka? Highly recommend. Just be aware cash or check saves you the credit card surcharge!
Delightful experience on a slow night. Great table, prompt service and delicious food.
Made a mistake and went on a First Friday night. Noisier than normal and crowded. Dinner menu seemed a bit sparse.
First visit. Thought server could have been a bit quicker and more attentive.
We always enjoy the experience, food and atmosphere at Ashten’s. Never disappoints and very accommodating to all food intolerances. Highly recommend!
Love the intimate quaint atmosphere. Perfect for date night. Amazing service and the meals were perfection.
We had a great time as always......
Always a nice place for a special dinner!
We will be going there again with some one special!
Family dinner at Ashten’s! Sit on the couches and relax! They do offer a kids menu - especially love that the kids can get “adult food” but smaller portion as an Adventurer. Great martinis, wonderful service by Sam, our fave waitress. Rueben Egg Rolls are amazing. I had the Salmon Special which was delish. Hubby had the Steak Special which was perfectly seasoned. Kids had a burger and fish & chips.
My party was quite surprised when our check came and the waitress announced that the restaurant was now passing along credit card fees to the customers. There was no prior notice at the time of the reservation, or the time of confirmation, or when we sat down at the beginning of the evening.
They had a Happy Anniversary sign already displayed at our table when we arrived. Service was prompt. Our server was friendly and had a smile on her face. The food was delicious.
As usual the food and atmosphere were wonderful however the restaurant has chosen to go with a new credit card processor and they are surprising guests with a note when the check comes that a 4% charge will be added to any credit card transaction. I get that it’s not a huge amount but many people would bring cash if they knew ahead of time or if they were told BEFORE dinner. If anything raise your prices 4% and don’t drop a bomb on guests at the end of their meal. It’s bad business practice.
Very enjoyable evening at Ashten's. Top notch service and menu. Will definitely return when in the area. Many thanks for a great experience.
The location and restaurant are very nice and the service was on the ball the whole time. I unfortunately the food was sub par to our expectations in taste and value when compared to other comparable locations in the area.
I'd recommend because food was delicious but would make aware that if you're celebrating a special event, not the place, but for casual & get together with friends in a bar area would be fine. I was disappointed this time with the quality of service.
Great first experience! Food was creative and well prepared. Service was attentive and not overbearing. Love the local emphasis and daily specials. We'll be back.
Great food and service. Have some. Great wines moderately priced.
The food was excellent and fresh, and our waitress was prompt yet we did not feel rushed. I had the Burger and my friend has the crab cake appetizer that we shared and she had the Joyce Farm Chicken Breast. It was excellent and expertly prepared. For dessert was the 3 flavor ice cream and the Peach Pandowdy, both with just the right amount of sweetness without being overloaded. Sunday evening seems to be a less busy time to enjoy a quiet evening meal. We cannot wait to return and try other items on the menu .
The front room is the most romantic in the area. The pub tends to be very loud but always great food. The Reuben egg rolls are amazing!
Baby crying next to us. Crab cake was relatively tasteless, stringy and oily inside.
First and foremost the food was outstanding, but at the associated price point, the ambiance needs to support. My wife and I had reservations, and were placed at a table between two other parties (the rest of the dinning area was empty). One of the parties was literally right on top of us, and my spouse was bumped multiple times as that group got up to leave. Additionally our table was placed right over an air conditioning vent, that blasted cold air up my pant leg all night long. Later in the evening another couple was seated immediately behind me. When I got up to leave I learned exactly how close we were seated when I ended up in the lap of the gentleman behind me. Our main courses were exceptional, but the appetizer (squash stuffed with goat cheese) was marginal, to poor, and while my desert was excellent, my wife felt like the peaches in hers were less than fresh, so overall a solid B+, with curve for the main course, an A, but when I'm spending over $150 on two plates, my expectation is higher. Overall we enjoyed ourselves, but we won't be returning.
Love the fresh produce and menu!
Our entire experience at Ashten’s was wonderful. Our server Sam did a great job giving us recommendations and never felt rushed. Food was cooked perfectly and will definitely be back!
Service and and experience was amazing
Ashten's is consistently great! The chef's choices are creative and delicious!
