Artu was founded on the most basic Italian technique, great ingredients, simply prepared, that is what Artu is all about.

In February of 1992 Artu opened its doors to the world, starting with outstanding sandwiches and mouth watering roasted meats, we continued to evolve and grow. Since then we have steadily added to our repertoire. From those sandwiches and roasted meats, we have produced old-world comfort food dishes to current interpretations of those classics that still make the most discerning eater reminisce of their childhood.

A terrific experience as Artu had the quality in a restaurant that seems to be something of the past: QUIET!!! Most restaurants are noisy with music blaring and you have to shout to your companions to be heard. Artu was old-world elegance; dark wooden walls, white tablecloths, professional and friendly but not overbearing waitstaff. The food was excellent. I had the salmon which was perfect. I will return and bring family: young and old so we can dine together like it used to be.

I have been here twice within the past month. The last time we had Marco who was professional precise accommodating to special request and knew the answer to every question

The second time was last night. We had a waitress that was nice but talked loud. Didn’t ask if we wanted drinks just dropped bread off and took our order for salad. She appeared disorganized. Our salad came, still no offer of a drink, we had to ask her to come over to order a drink. We waited a long time for our main meal. In fact she came back and asked us if we ordered two things (just checking” she said and they were the wrong orders We had to repeat our order. After waiting an unreasonable amount of time we had to ask where our food was. All the time she was waiting on the table of four beside us and kept asking them about there orders, who ordered what? She didnt tell one of the ladies that her order was extra due to a special request as this lovely lady inquired about the price. I asked her how much one the specials was and she said “around the same as one of the other salads”. It was more expensive than the “other salads”. Anyway the place is awesome but would be more awesome with another wait staff. She is too stressed and passes that on to the customer. I brought my husband there for his birthday and it was a little stressful for him because he was asking about the food and picked up on my frustration. Go with Marco, you won’t be disappointed.
Ps. The manager was no where to be found during this episode because I would have politely spoke to him.

Everything was great except the waitress made us feel rushed. The second we got there til minute we left. I told her 3 times we weren't in a rush. I'm sure she had other groups coming in but we didn't need her asking us every 5 min if we were ready to order. For this reason I might not come back with my business associates.

artu was a nice spot for Saturday dinner. Typical north end fare, I have been coming here for years but felt the prices were a little high for the value. Chicken marsala was nice but a bit overpriced without even serving pasta.

Our waiter was very sweet and attended to all of our needs. The food was amazing, and the restaurant allowed our large party to be comfortable sat and enjoy the occasion. Food took a little long to come out.

Went for dinner and had the chicken Marsala. The portions are a little small and we were seated next to the doors so there was a lot people moving around us. Overall good flavors, good waiting staff and overall positive experience

Third time there and it was once again very good. Salads, main course and desserts were all really good. Wine by the glass was excellent as was the service. Definitely go back again soon.

We were seated right away ...only to be seated at the back of the rest. The waiter took forever to get to our table.. He was very inattentive took 15 min to place order.... when food arrive one of our dishes was cold ... chicken parm informed our waiter he said oooo let me take it back and have them warm it for you ... it came back piping hot floating in a sea of red sauce. When we expressed concern about the plating our server he offered to bring back a plate to drain some of the sauce

CAN YOU BELIEVE THAT ...Finally when we decided just to leave ..... i had to find to go and find our server to get our bill only to discover that he and all of the other male servers were near the bar watching a hockey game.....on the bill they offered no discount or reduction to the bill after we expressed our concerns ... he came back with one canoli as an apology from the chef

We had Christmas Eve dinner here. There were 12 of us! The service was outstanding. Our waiter handled the large party flawlessly! The food was excellent.

The food was excellent and our waiter was excellent. The part that spoiled an otherwise good evening was the support service. We were made to keep our dirty silverware from our appetizer course, I was handed a dirty knife with entre (which was quickly replaced), and we were repeatedly asked if we were done with our dnnee dishes, when we clearly were not. It was toward the end of.the evening, so it was not because they were trying to flip the table.

Food was good for the most part. Veal and chicken dishes got high marks; the pasta dishes were just okay or a little on the bland side. Was seated in a cramped, high traffic area which was very noisy making it hard to have a conversation. Service was good.
